Halloween is over and it’s a race to Christmas now. I was in the store and bought a bunch of Halloween stuff marked way down. Boy, they want it out of the stores fast. Got some really nice stuff too.

And, of course, I had to buy a Christmas ornament. I couldn’t help myself. LOL

Let’s see. What did I do this week? Oh, I rearranged my living room. I’m loving how much more open it looks now. But something was nagging at me the whole time I was doing it. Then the light bulb went off. I didn’t leave a place for the Christmas tree! Now I’m sitting here, wondering where it can go. Well, at least a have a while to figure that out.

The only other things new are a job and the weather.

We had a cold front come through and it was actually cold. The wind blew all night Friday and I thought I was headed to Oz. Woke up and it was downright cold out.  I doubt it will last long.

And I’m looking for a part time job to make some extra money. Don’t know how that will go as my current job is physically tiring, but maybe I can do a couple nights or the weekends. We’ll see.

Other than that, I’ve been reading a lot and getting reviews together. That’s it.

Oh yeah! Don’t forget the daylight savings time starts this weekend. An extra hour. Yeah!

  1. Man where do you find all these super uber scary reads! I love horror but can’t ever seem to find any good ones these days cause I don’t scare very easy anymore when reading. Some of these sound awesome! Great haul and reviews! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  2. ficwishes says:

Super scary week. Hope this next week is amazing. Thanks for coming by to visit me earlier.

  3. Whoa, you had a great book and I think my wishlist just got longer. 😀

Working two jobs is exhausting but doable. Good luck finding a second job.

    Have a great week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m trying to get caught up on my reviews. Like that will ever happen.LOL
I think I can manage 2 jobs if I work weekends. Not so sure about 2 jobs during the week days though. Thanks so much:)

  4. I love the titles and covers of the cozies!

I am obsessed with rearranging my spaces…probably because I live in a smaller space now than I did for thirteen years. But to be honest, I was always rearranging there, too. LOL

I have solved the Christmas tree issue by having three small trees placed here and there.

Enjoy figuring it out! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  5. Culinary mysteries can be fun. Sometime they are too far of a stretch. The covers and names are usually clever! Thanks for coming by!

  6. Fantastic book haul! So many good ones to choose from.

  7. Love Spearwood Academy!!! It’s awesome but I also love shorts and dragons 😉 You got some great books this week!

  8. All Things Slip Away looks intriguing. I am not ready for the holidays. I am hosting both and have a huge party on December 7th at my house..which means the trees and house decorations need to go up as soon as the Turkey is finished..LOL

    • fuonlyknew says:

Kathryn has written so many books and she’s a terrific writer. Both of the featured books are sequels but I think can be read as stand alones. I’ve been waiting for these and can’t wait to get started!
I’m going to my sisters for the holidays but I usually do some baking and take a ham or fried turkey too. We allll get together at her house and that’s a lot of mouths to feed. LOL
I put my tree up on the morning of November 20th. It’s a tradition for my sons birthday. Some say it’s bad luck but we have fun.

  9. Greg says:

Your Friday sounds like our Friday- windy and cold. Good luck with the job thing, hope you find something that works for you. Several of your new books look good- What Happens at Christmas (I may get that one) and The Big Goodbye looks like two very different reads, but they both look good. Hope you enjoy all your upcoming reads.

  10. Lola says:

It’s always ncie to snatch up some goodies after the season is over, here that always happens with Sinterklaas chocolates. It’s amazing to see for how cheap they sell those after the actual festiveties are over.
It can be fun to rearrange your living room once in a while, it’s always surprising what a different feel it gives to the room. I don’t like change too much though, so I usually just let everything stay in it’s current spot.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was able to get a few cute things at a low cost so had to go for it. It’s fun to look through all of it too.
My living room is long and narrow so things really did need to be moved to widen it and make it more open.

  11. We have to move a chair into another room so that there’s space for the Christmas tree. It’s kind of a pain but it’s only for just over a month so it works out. I can’t believe how quickly the Christmas stuff got here! I was in Bath & Body Works earlier this week and they’d already gotten rid of all of their fall scents! I was kind of sad. I’m curious about the Maya Corrigan book. Looks like my kind of cozy! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My review for Maya’s book goes up here on Tuesday. I enjoyed it and liked that I actually started a series at the beginning. LOL
I think I’ve found a solution for the tree. We’ll see:)

  12. limabean74 says:

More books to add to My To-Be read list lol, I missed so many good halloweenie type reads 🙂
I love rearranging the house, everyone in the house hates it but I think it keeps things fresh and new 🙂 I plan to do my sons room in a few weeks since it needs a little change I think (he doesn’t lol)

I am so excited about the holidays, I was just in the grocery store walking around the xmas isle. for some reason I am really in the xmas spirit this year already and I hope it lasts till Christmas because I feel wonderful 🙂 Such a magical time of year!!!

Enjoy your new reads and have a wonderful week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL My son keeps putting me off so I had to pull the mean Mom thing and told him to get ready or I’m coming in with trash bags. LOL He’s getting ready!
The last few years have been difficult and I didn’t have much holiday spirit. I’m thinking this year will be better. I’m going to make it so:)

  13. Good luck finding a party time job. Though at this time of year a lot of the stores are looking for part time seasonal. I did Barnes and Nobles one year and it was awful for me. Soooo busy. I need to start getting my list together of the gifts that I want to get people this year. I don’t even know what I want!

  14. Yvonne says:

All those books look so good! Good luck on finding a part time job. At this time of year, I think there are many available.

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Lots of good ones this week!
I have a couple of opportunities I’m going to check into this week. Both are night jobs, part time so one of them might work out.

  15. You have been a very busy lady, Laura! It’s a great idea to buy Halloween costumes just after Halloween! Then you can get some really good ones for a pretty penny 🙂
All those books, though, how are you going to find the time to read them all? Especially if you find a second, part-time job? I hope you’ll find a good job, though, but one that won’t be hard physically.
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Have a fantastic week.

  16. Don’t you love this time of year? You could always put your Christmas tree in the center of the room. That way you can enjoy it no matter where you sit. Haha. 😉

  17. Christy says:

I had to run to Walmart Saturday morning at like 5am to grab snacks for the day, and was surprised at how many people were there buying leftover Halloween stuff. Your new books look good, and yay for the wins.

  18. Boy, what a winner you are! Lots of love, Emily

  19. What a great ton of books! They are all so lovely! Thank you so much for sharing the free ones as well. I grabbed The Devil’s Grin although my TBR is ridiculous right now! I could not resist it! Good luck finding a job!

  20. I LOVE foodie cozy mysteries! I hope you enjoy your books! 😀

  21. I have the same problem with my living room. I’ve changed mine around as well and I now have no idea where to put our tree either.
Hope you enjoy your new books and your week.
    Sharon @ Sharon’s Book Nook!

  22. “to Cute to kill” LOL I love that! It snowed here on Halloween… Not much, but we were completely blown away. It was 80 last week… Wow. O.o

  23. I’m already planning out my Christmas decorations! I’m obsessed with the holidays! It’s also gotten really cold here recently and I absolutely love it. =)

    Have a lovely week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m going to do it all new this year. I used to do different themes each year but quit doing it. I’m thinking if I choose a new theme, it will help me get into Christmas this year:)

  24. Nyze says:

Do you have like a huge tree? That’s really a problem. My tree’s just 3 feet tall. It’s so cute. Anyway congrats to the job! ♥

Thanks for dropping by my blog Laura ♥

  25. Congrats on your wins! I like how the stores are skipping right over Thanksgiving. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks! I feel very lucky this week. My favorite shopping is right after Christmas. I get great deals, pack it up, and then the next year I find all of the new goodies I forgot I bought. LOL

  26. Well done on your win! That was a huge one 🙂 And all things slip away looks fab, I’ll have to investigate it further.
I’m sure between now and Christmas you’ll figure out a place for the Christmas tree. Maybe you can temporarily move something out of the way, just for the season? I’m always rearranging furniture, it totally changes the look of a room around!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks. I was very lucky:) I’m just starting All things slip away. I know it’s going to be great. Kathryn is a prolific writer and very talented. I think you’re right. Something will need to be moved into the guest room for a while. I see a few solutions:)

  27. Cait says:

Ooh, those covers are gorgeous. Especially some of those Halloween ones. I think Infested is somewhat terrifying. >_< I so want to read The Secret Sky! I hope it's really awesome. And WOOHOO congrats for winning that giftcard! EARLY CHRISTMAS. XD
Thanks for stopping by @ Notebook Sisters!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s never too late or too early for some good Halloween reads.
I’m excited about Secret Sky. Ir sounds fantastic.
And I’ve been very lucky this week:)

  28. There must be something in the air, I spent last week re-arranging my sitting room and doing a big spring (autumn??) clean – including the bookshelves which looking very snazzy now 🙂

You really do seem to be no a role with so much reading and so many reviews this month. And your looking for an extra part time job too? Awesome.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m almost done rearranging. Just in time for the holidays and company:)
I’ve been busy finishing some books and have a whole bunch of new reviews coming soon.
Still waiting to hear about the extra job.

  29. Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace says:

I can’t believe how close we are to Christmas already! Enjoy your new reads, you have a great amount of them and awesome covers too!

Thanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!
    Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace

  30. Sorry I’m so late. Mr Wonderful talked me into an impromptu road trip. I see you have been very busy and have collected some awesome books. Happy reading!
