Welcome to The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice.
This is a really fun meme!

Then go over to Freda’s Voice and leave your link so we can visit your 56!
My 56 for this week is from
Dark Places
by Gillian Flynn
My 56
“Fact: Somewhere around 2 a.m. on January 3, 1985, a person or persons killed three members of the Day family in their farmhouse in Kinnakee, Kansas.
~~~
Synopsis
Libby Day was just seven years old when her evidence put her fifteen-year-old brother behind bars.
Since then, she has been drifting. But when she is contacted by a group who are convinced of Ben’s innocence, Libby starts to ask questions she never dared to before. Was the voice she heard her brother’s? Ben was a misfit in their small town, but was he capable of murder? Are there secrets to uncover at the family farm or is Libby deluding herself because she wants her brother back?
She begins to realise that everyone in her family had something to hide that day… especially Ben. Now, twenty-four years later, the truth is going to be even harder to find.
Who did massacre the Day family?
It’s a blast! I have a lot of fun visiting everyones posts and have made new friends and found some great books! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you do join in:)
I found Libby to be an unlikable character. This wasn’t one of my favs by Gillian Flynn, but I’m glad you liked it. Here’s my Friday post
I think that’s why I’m enjoying this one so much. Every now and then I find a character that I don’t like, but they are powerful for that very reason. I’m a bit twisted. LOL
Gillian Flynn is one of my must read authors – I hope you like Dark Places!
Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
Dang, the books are so twisted. As soon as I finish this I’ll be reviewing all three of her books.
This sounds very good. I hope you are enjoying it. This week I am spotlighting Prudence by Gail Carriger. Happy reading!
I’m almost finished. Very strange, yet good.
Not read this author, but the synopsis sounds pretty good. 🙂
Just like with Gone Girl, I don’t like the Libby, the female protagonist, but I’m still liking the plot. Don’t have to love the characters to enjoy the read:)
I read Gone Girl, but I wasn’t crazy about the ending. Glad you’re enjoying this one!
That was too twisted, that ending. I know what you mean. This has another female character that’s not very likeable. But I’m still liking the plot.
Quite an in-your-face fact! Sounds good!
Happy weekend!
Sure is. And there are plenty more. It flashes from past to present and flows good too.
Gillian Flynn! Dang I am sooo behind. I haven’t even read Gone Girl 😉
I’d read Gone Girl before I watched the movie. Wish I’d done it that way. These are all similar in some unlikable characters yet suspenseful plots. Very good.
I haven’t read this author yet, but this book sounds like my kind of read.
If you like to feel a wide range of emotions and can handle some ugly characters and twisted plots, this is for you. LOL
I enjoyed this one! Also Dark Places…
I mean Sharp Objects…LOL
I enjoyed all three. I wonder what twisted road the author will take next. LOL
I’ve heard a lot about Gillian Flynn’s novels.
They are all twisted and suspenseful. My kind of reads!
It is in a different sort of way. Just as fun.
Great 56! I’ve never read a Flynn book. This sounds like a good place to start!
Yep. Then you’ll have to read the others. LOL
I’ve read glowing reviews on this series, I’m just not sure if it is one I would particularly enjoy :/ I do hope you’re enjoying it though Laura; have a fantastic weekend!
These are stand alones so you don’t have to read them like a series. Very suspenseful and twisted:)
Awesome pick I love Gillian Flynn dark and twisted books I absolutely loved Gone Girl and I know I will enjoy her other books as well. Thank you for stopping by my blog! 🙂
The other ones are just as twisted fun!
