Some chit chat.

Good morning ya’ll!

On the homefront nothing much is new.

I did read a lot of new books and won some wonderful prizes.

And I finally started organizing my book shelves. Boy, were they a mess. Books crammed in willy nilly. LOL For now, I’ve got the books organized by read and not read, and have all series arranged in order. Now I’m not sure how to do the rest.

Should I go by alphabetically? And if so, by author or title?

Should I go by genre? And then maybe by author?

How about by new authors? Favorites?

There are so many ways to go!

How do you organize yours?

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

Here are my new books for review.

I have a couple of new review books but can’t share the covers yet. I’ll tell you they are cozy mysteries. Big surprise there. LOL I’ve been reading so many.

Some I couldn’t resist just for fun!

Picked me up some of those freebies..I really need to start reading some of those…lol. I am going to be reading some of the spookier ones soon getting ready for Monsters, Madmen and Mayhem. Oh my! 🙂

    Stormi
    Week in Review

PS. Not sure if you got it but I sent you an email (that i found on here) asking if you wanted to guest review for my October fun. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m getting ready for Halloween too. It’s kind of that season year round as far as my reading genre goes. LOL
Got your email and replying now!

  2. danielaark says:

Thanks for the freebies tips 🙂 Glad you won all those books! The Hybrid came with the feather??? how detail oriented of Venus! Love it 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love browsing for the freebies. Now if I can just not grab all of them. LOL I’ve been very lucky lately with all the awesome book wins! The Hybrid came with a feather and a lovely locket keychain too.

  3. You hit the mother load with your winnings! Great job and what a fun mail week you must have had! I have my bookcases very loosely organized by genre. But no organization within the genres and then there’s a few places where the books have just taken over and there just crammed in wherever. Good luck with your reorganizing and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure did and my mother is staying with me and I let her open every package. We had such fun! I’m still not done with my shelves. I started to get tired of arranging and threw some on there, then I stopped because I only want to do this once. LOL

  4. Fab win, I love it! As for how I arrange book shelves. Well your description of wily nily fits me exactly! Urgh, I really need to sort that out.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure am lucky! Mine are still somewhat willy nilly. Hope to get them off the floor and table and back on the shelves before Christmas! LOL

  5. So many books! Congrats on your wins.

I organize my books by genre, then by author. Within author, it’s by series. I do have one shelf by my bed that holds my favorite authors and books so it’s more of a mishmash.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I never thought of by genre. Yikes. Now I’m thinking I need to change it again. The stacks by my bed are ones that I need to review on a time schedule. Well, there are a few I keep there just for fun. LOL

  6. This is my first time taking part in The Sunday Post 🙂

I usually organise my bookshelves by read vs unread, then each of those sections is organised in genre, then alphabetically by author sirname. Just like you would find in a bookstore. I’ve recently moved house though, so now I have to do the reorganisation all over! Fun times lol!

    • fuonlyknew says:

      Welcome to the gang!
I do have one bookcase for unread books but they also overflow onto my nightstand, the kitchen table, the floor, anywhere there’s room. LOL
Oh no, you have to do it all again. I hope you remember how you had them arranged!

  7. My book shelf is all willy nilly at the moment. I need a bigger one since it doesn’t have enough room for all my books.

You got a lot of great books, I love the cover of Fing 🙂

Have a great week! Happy Reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I need more shelves! After organizing, I’ll still have books left over. The cover for Fing is precious. That’s why I grabbed it. LOL Such a fun story too.

  8. Lola says:

There are so many ways to shelf your books, mine is a mishmash of shelving methods, keeping the series together and shelving on size mostly. My shelves have different sizes so shelving on size is important if I want to fit as many books in them as possible. Can you share a picture when you’re done? I am curious what your shelves look like!
Sounds like you had a good week when it comes to winning books again! I hope you’ll have a great week!

  9. Oh boy, it depends like if you’re going for organization, best to organize by author and series. If you’re looking for pretty, then do it by color.

    Happy reading!

  10. fangswandsfairy(alt) says:

I am sad to say I do not organize my books — I use the willy nilly system. I think organizing by author’s last name is standard. Thanks for dropping by my place. http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/08/sunday-8-23.html

    • fuonlyknew says:

I thought about just by author, but then there’s the series, different genres they write…… So many details. LOL

  11. Oh Flesh and Blood screams read me..LOL Nice haul . My book shelves have series together and genres…nothing too crazy.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Series and genre sounds easier. Flesh and Blood is terrific. I love the series and been reading it from the first book released.

  12. So many books! How are you going to read these all??? You crazy girl 😉

When my books were organized (before hubs made me put some of my pretties away), I had a section for signed books, I had all my adult books together by genre, then by author organized in series order. Same with my Young adult. I kept my ARCs separate so I could pull them out to trade, though, unless they were signed, then you know where I had them… I am a former library worker so I’m slightly OCD.

    Good luck 😉

    • fuonlyknew says:

      Believe me, I’ll read them!
Oh no, now it’s by adult, NA, and YA too. I’m going to have to rethink things and take them all back off. LOL

  13. katarguelles says:

I just went through the paperbacks I have. I sorted them by read, need to read and use for giveaways. Sadly the pile for the giveaways isn’t as much as I hoped it would be. I was hoping to make more space for future books. For the need to read I separated which ones I really wanted to read vs the books that are iffy (and might use for giveaways).

You got a lot of great books and you won again. I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The ones for giveaways are in boxes on the floor! And I even have some in my closet! But those are ones I’ll keep and reread. Some favorite series and such.

  14. Deborah says:

I wrote a joke-y blog post once about ‘how we organise our bookshelves and what it says about us’. Obviously I made it all up. Mine at the moment is alphabetically by author.

  15. I organize my books by not read and read. The read ones I have alphabetized by author. Some times I go crazy and arrange them by color! The not read shelf is a mess, always is not matter how much I try to organize. I see a few books that I will check out and see if they are still freebies.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do have my not reads just stacked, not organized. And lets not even go there about the two tall stacks on my nightstand. LOL

  16. You were very lucky winning all those books last week, Lauren! I hope you’ll enjoy each and every one of your new additions 🙂
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

  17. Red Iza says:

There are so many ways to organize books ! I file mine by alphabetical order of the authors, and inside, by series in chronological order. I thought about dividing them by genres, but some authors switch genres, so… Enjoy that beautiful book haul !

  18. Wonderful books to win. I did pick up a couple that were still free for October reading. Getting my spook on.

  19. I’m late, I’m late! For a very important date!

    *sigh*

Life is crazy so I’m sorry for being a week late. You have some amazing looking books here! I’m going to have to investigate further on these. 🙂
