Some chit chat.

What to share today? Not a whole lot new this past week. I’ve been reviewing books like crazy and can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Not for my TBR and Netgalley though. That I’ll be working on soon.

You will notice as this month progresses, there will be less tour reviews. My goal this year was to try to read and review the books I host. I did a lot this year.

My goal for next year is to finish my ARC reviews and catch up on individual author requests. I’ll be getting to a few freebies and winnowing down my TBR also.

I’ll still be hosting some tour spots so I can share some great authors and books with you, along with some giveaways. Just not so many reviews on those.

My folders haunt me. All those books I’m dying to read and haven’t. It’s time to take charge and get reading. LOL

How about you? Do you set a reading goal? Not a challenge, a goal, like a New Years resolution, on how you will be doing review books and requests each year? Share them with me!

Happy Sunday!

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

I am so behind on my arc reviews, like seriously behind. That’s definitely something I need to work on for next year, and the rest of this year.

  2. This year I decided I wasn’t going to do nearly as many tours and I stuck with it. It is much less stressful so I’m going to continue that. Otherwise, I’m going to keep whittling the review pile down, especially NetGalley. You picked up a couple of the same freebies I did. 😀

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was the opposite, but I reviewed almost all of the books too. Next year will be more focused on authors I work with and my TBR and freebies .

  3. This is the second time today I’m seeing Tom DeLonge’s book and I’ve never heard of it before! I love Blink182 (I used to live in San Diego so it goes with the territory) and I hated hearing about his fall out recently with the other 2 guys…. again. We actually have A&A’s first cd so I know this book will be out there! I think it may be a bit too mind bending for me, though. I’ll wait and see what you think 😉

  4. Lola says:

That’s great when you have one of those weeks where you get lots of books read and reviewed. It’s ncie if you can actually review the books you tour. I enjoy participating in tours, but I like them best if I can read the book or have already read the book and know I enjoy the book I am promoting. I’ve been horrible at netgalley lately, I’ve been pickign up a lot of new books there. I also got Shadows of Asphodel this week, it sounds like a good one. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  5. I am so behind on arcs and I keep telling myself I won’t be clicking on anything this week then I get an email or see something on someones blog and it’s just evil….lol. My goal for 2016 is to try and no be so click happy and maybe make a wishlist of books i want to read that I could get as arcs but instead will not click on them and then maybe I can grab one every once in a while as I can afford to buy them. Or maybe for every five books I review I am allowed to grab on arc…lol.

I grabbed a few of those freebies. 🙂 Maybe I need to read more of those and stay away from NG or EW…oh who am I kidding….lol. Unless I am away from my pc I am not sure how my book ban will go next year…lol.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Seeing a book on someone’s blog is what tempts me the most. LOL I just close my eyes and delete the emails! I’m going through both of my kindles right now and organizing books in order of which to read first. OMG so many!!

  6. Emma says:

I make no plans and never know what I’m reading next but I don’t read many review books so there is no stress. I admire those that do and can keep on top of everything- it takes a lot! Have a good week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do read books just for fun too. Makes me wonder how many I really read as they aren’t added to my review or challenge lists.

  7. I’ve been trying to do less tours because my TBR and NetGalley lists are already so out of control. I do make reading goals and I think for 2016 I’m going to try to come up with a plan to get some reduction on unread books. I’m not sure what that will be but hopefully I can come up with something! I’m looking forward to your review of The Stitching Hour. I have the first book in the series and am curious to see how the series progresses. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think there will be less pressure now that I’ve decided to focus differently. Of course, the authors I work with will always get my attention and there will be those I have to have. LOL

  8. Greg says:

I don’t d omany reviews books and no ARC’s, generally- I’m a mood reader so not a lot of pressure that way. Though I’m seriously thinking of taking the Netgalley plunge…

  9. Oh, that’s a lot of books. *averts her eyes*

I’m cutting back on review tours and want to work more on ARCs I’ve had sitting around for too long as well as books of my own. I’m also hosting a reading challenge for finishing series; that’ll help me catch up on books too.

    Have a good week!

  10. katarguelles says:

I didn’t sign up for that many review tours so I can focus on my ARCs. But even doing this I am still behind. So I know for next year I’ll have to really focus on my ARCs. That cover for Poet Anderson is amazing! I added it to my TBR! Have a good week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Sounds like most of us are in the same boat with ARCs. LOL You should see the print copy of Poet Anderson. It’s amazing and there’s a CD included.

  11. Oh the upside down covers are cool. I snagged some of the holiday freebies. I cut out a lot of tours and only picks up ones I know I want to read. I do really good getting my NetGalley. Edelweiss and arc/audio books read but my own personal book purchases have suffered. I would devour some authors on release day and now 5 months later they are still sitting unread. So now I am beginning the process of only taking on one or two books from each pub per month and my fav indies so I can weave my own books in to 2016.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. It was just coincidence that the upside down covers were both reviewed the same week. I didn’t even think about it until someone mentioned it. Check out my Free Eboks Page. I’m updating it daily and finding a lot of holiday reads to share. Good thing I don’t grab all of the freebies I list. LOL

  12. Creating-Serenity says:

You have been reading a lot! Leighann Dobbs looks interesting! I just recently got into cozy mysteries. I had no idea how fun they are! I might have to pick up some of her books. The new one, Of Nightmares!! Love that cover! You’re right, I can see why you couldn’t resist. My favorite of this entire list is Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things! Love that cover!

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh boy. Watch out for those cozies. I’m addicted to them. LOL Of Nightmares is awesome. Just started it and already totally absorbed in it. Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things is a large book but you’ll fly through it. So good!

  13. Deborah says:

Wow! You’re so dedicated. I don’t really accept author requests unless I know them I have to admit. I probably should make that clear on my blog. I get most of my books from publishers and that’s more than I can keep up with!

  14. Christy LoveOfBooks says:

I’ve cut back SO MUCH since I first started blogging, yet I still fall behind. lol. It’s crazy to think about how much I used to do. I just try to be really picky now.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I keep meaning to cut back. This year I set my challenge lower and blew it away. LOL I just don’t want to miss a good book:)

  15. I don’t really plan all that much for my blog, Lauren. I read books, then I review them. And I request far too many books on Netgalley, but it’s impossible not to want those beauties by favorite authors before they’re released.
I hope you’ll be able to fix your goals for next year, and that it’ll be doable for you.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

  16. Teddyree says:

I cut back on book tours this year and netgalley requests, I still said yes to all my favourite authors and a few more but it has lessened the stress a bit. Love the covers of Stillwater and Children shouldn’t play with Dead Things. Have a great week and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

That’s my plan for next year too. Now, to stick to it. Both books were really good. Funny about the upside down covers being on both of them.

  17. Shadows of Asphodel is a great read…hope you enjoy it and all your other new additions!

  18. I didn’t get a Sunday post put together this week, so will share next week. Some great looking books, but I was able to resist adding any more this time.
    sherry @ fundinmental

  19. Naomi Hop says:

I cut right back on tours, there was no way I could keep up with everything, so I try and spotlight one once a week, and the rest I read. Hope you had a great week!
