Some chit chat.

It was a good week. Busy at work. Busy at home. Had some fun with the family. And read some good books.

I spent some time over at my sister’s house this weekend. We did a lot of talking about our blogs and reading. We tossed back and forth some ideas on what we want to change next year.

I’m going to be doing things differently as far as books I take in for review and what kind of posts I’ll be sharing. Not huge changes, just making it less stressful and more fun.

I’m also going to be cleaning up things on my blog, updating my pages and such. And I’m going to start adding some graphics and a blog button. Making it more personal. My sister is going to help me with choosing some designs and it should be fun.

If anyone has some ideas on new content to add to my blog, things you’d like to see or see more of, please let me know!

Happy Sunday!

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

  1. I’m glad you had a good time with your sister this weekend, Laura! Your new books look really good, especially The Knights Before Christmas sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun to read.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had a lot of fun. My mother is heading bak home in a few weeks and we have lots of fun little trips planned for the next couple of weekends. The Kinghts Before Christmas is a beautiful book and so fun!

  2. Hope you don’t change to much as I really like your blog. You review my favorite types of books, mystery and horror…lol. I need to make a list of the review books I already have piling up for next year so that when I got to click maybe I will think hard about whether I really need it now or if it can go on my wishlist…lol. I was so bad this week, so bad! 🙂

    Happy reading,
    Stormi

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m just adding a few graphics. It’s more about what I’ll be posting. I like my theme and will keep it too.

  3. Greg says:

Glad it was a good week. I like blog changes too, and hope to make some in the new year. Your books look fun… 🙂

  4. fangswandsfairy(alt) says:

I think you should do what ever you want on the blog and if you don’t like what you try, then try something else. The beauty of blogging is that we can do almost anything.

  5. I have the first in the Rose Pressey series that I need to get too. It definitely has potential for something I’d like. I can understand a blog change to get more on track with what’s fun for you. Look forward to seeing what direction you go in! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I struggle to get through the series I”m reading. So many of them. It’s always relaxing to read a stand alone, knowing I don’t have to watch for the next book. LOL
Got a list of some things I might try next year and I’m adding and deleting on it.

  6. Creating-Serenity says:

What great books! Death going to a county fair? That sounds awesome! And a bit scary. I just reviewed Haunt Coture and Ghosts Galore, can’t wait to see what you think!

    Have a great week!

  7. Good luck with your plans to clean up your blog! I love constantly adding and changing things! 😛 Enjoy all your new reads! A Holiday Zombie Trilogy looks like something I might want to check out!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks Tracy. I’m still thinking of new content to make it fun for discussions and wanting to focus on catching up on so many things that have been neglected:)
I had such fun with the Zombie Trilogy.

  8. Less stressful and more fun is good, and important. I’ll be looking to see what changes you make. Glad you had a good week and I hope this week is a good one!

  9. kentuckygal50 says:

My goodness! You are one busy reader! Thanks for the tip on the love, death, zombie book. :O) The cover of “Nails” is kind of freaky looking!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Nails was eerie good and I loved the ending. It was classic! The zombie book was one I just couldn’t resist. I don’t grab most of the freebies I share here, but had to have it.

  10. Grace Rebele says:

Glad you had a good week. Good luck with changed on the blog. I need to do some of that myself!! Enjoy all your new books and have a great week!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Most of my changes will be updating. I’m keeping my theme, just adding some graphics that a friend is helping me with. Makes it a little more branded.

  11. Trish says:

Less stressful and more fun is exactly what I want from my blog too. Kiss Me I’m Irish caught my attention! Hope you enjoy your books.

  12. It sounds like some great changes you guys talked about!! Are you going to focus your blog on a genre or age group more? Sounds like you’re going to “brand” yourself 😉 My advice? Look at as many blogs to get an idea of what you like and don’t like. It’ll give you ideas of what you want to do, ie. do you like your sidebar on the right, left, or both? Do you want your reading area wider? etc, etc..

I always tell myself, it’s a hobby so no stressing!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I thought about an age group or genre but I love so many different ones I’d become limited. I will be personalizing it more and maybe using some new apps. Thanks for your offer to help. I’ll probably be calling on you! LOL

  13. Lola says:

I think if there’s a way to make blogging less stressful you should go for it. I think we bloggers sometimes set too high expectations for oruselves and make something that should fun more stressfull then it should be. I am looking forward to see your changes on your blog. I think making your blog more personal with a blog button and such is a good idea! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I am already feeling more relaxed. I’m a super hyper person though, so crossing my fingers I can stick to this goal:)

  14. Have a great week ahead! Happy reading 😉

  15. katarguelles says:

I didn’t know your sister has a blog. That is great you share interests in blogging and have her to help you with your blog. Your blog looks great so I hope you don’t make too many changes. But I understand how you feel about changing what you post. I’ve also made changes so I’m not so stressed over getting posts created. I can’t wait to see what you come up and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep. Her blog is fundinmental. We don’t hide the fact we are sisters, but don’t advertise it either. We don’t want anyone questioning are reviews. But, if you read a review of a book we both read, our feelings and opinions are so different we really don’t need to worry about that. LOL

  16. Deborah says:

How great that your sister also has a blog. When I first got to my new hometown I met someone who also blogged (and we were possibly the only two bloggers in the community of 70,000!) but she’s quit. There are a couple of writers here who blog occasionally (re their books and writing) and I’ve made more of an effort to catch up with them lately as it’s nice being able to talk about something which so many people don’t get.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I stumbled into blogging through friends I made on twitter and once I really got into it, I told my sister about it. We both read like crazy people and have read thousands of books so I knew she would enjoy it. We even do some tag team events. It makes it fun and we can turn to each other for tips and problem solving:)

  17. Christy LoveOfBooks says:

Changes can be good, especially when it’s to reduce stress. Hahaha wtf .. I need to check out Death Goes to the County Fair. Have a great week and enjoy your books.

    • fuonlyknew says:

No major changes, just sprucing things up, personalizing somewhat, and updating. Death Goes To The County Fair is a lot of fun. You’d like it:) And that cover art is too good!

  18. You’ve been busy! I want to try Rose Pressey..her covers are so cute!

  19. I didn’t do a Sunday post but had a great time while you were visiting. I look forward to working with you as we make the changes to our blogs. I think it will be a lot of fun. I couldn’t help but pick up a couple of the freebies. LOL
    sherry @ fundinmental

    • fuonlyknew says:

I got mine up because I worked on it through the week. Just had to add in freebies and pictures then. Of course, some of the freebies weren’t free anymore so I spent some time adding new ones. Good thing I don’t grab all of the ones I share here. My Kindle would explode! LOL
Had such fun at your place. Looking forward to more soon!

  20. Naomi Hop says:

Oooh…. I look forward to the changes you’ll come up with! Always great to refresh the blog! Happy reading!

  21. Red Iza says:

Have fun with updating your blog 😉 I hear The accidental demon slayer should be a lot of fun, enjoy ! And that Nails cover is deliciously creepy ^^

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m looking forward to making a few changes. Nails was creepy!!! And I hope to start the Accidental Demon series after Christmas

  22. It sounds like you’ve got a lot planned for the coming year with your blog! I hope you have lots of fun!

  23. Emma says:

Love the cute and mystical cover of Demon Street Blues.
