September 11, 2016.

Fifteen years ago we awoke to a despicable act of terrorism that still haunts us today. While the shock may have dulled, the horror remains.

Take a moment in memory of those who were lost.

September 11, 2001.

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday Posts so be sure to leave me your link.

  1. Greg Hill says:

Nicely said about 9/11. The Bone Hunter gets my attention with that cover, and so does Witch of the Water. And I read Rules of Murder a couple years ago- pretty good book. There are several in that series I think but I haven’t read the rest…

  2. It is hard to believe it is 15 years, I remember so vividly that day. I am a VA for author’s and handle their social media. For today I of course posted to Remember, but then I was like how can I post memes and funny stuff…so nope they are silent today. Have an awesome week!

  3. Deborah says:

Wow, it’s amazing to think 15yrs have passed. I was actually at Uluru (Ayers Rock) in central Australia at the time, so it’s something I’ll always remember.

  4. It may have happened 15 years ago, but it is still a sad day.

I was curious about The History Major when I first saw it. Haven’t read it yet though, not sure if I actually will or not. I’ll have to remember to check out your review! Have a great week 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

      It will always haunt us.

The History Major is an odd one. I’ve read most of his books and couldn’t pass up his newest:)

  5. Pragya says:

Yay for new books and yay, Karin Slaughter coming up!

  6. I will be reading your review of The History Major. I have it, but I haven’t read it yet. Have a marvelous week.

  7. 15 years.. I’ll never forget that day!!
Looks like you’ve got some great new books to review. ‘Doggone It’ really sounds like a good read.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  8. Can’t believe it’s been so long since 9/11.

I had to check out a couple you got for yourself and some of those freebies…my kindle overfloweth…lol. I need to start reading some of my own books…maybe I will make that a resolution for next year…lol.

    Have a great day!

      Time marches on.

Gotcha! I found some good ones for me and some for everyone else this week! I made a resolution for this year to thin out my TBR. Yeah, right! LOL For every one I read and review, I seem to add more!

  9. Your books haul is so dangerous for me. I need to go check them out.
Today still brings tears to my eyes…I think it always will.

Have a great week,Laura! Happy Reading!

  10. Oh, yes, that was a very sad morning…and in the subsequent days and weeks, we all felt numbed by the experience. My eldest son was visiting from Europe, and we ended up driving up north to see family and friends there.

That day changed all of our lives forever.

You have some lovely books…I enjoy Karin Slaughter. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Have a great week!

  11. I don’t know if my comment went through.

Sad day, and I remember that my eldest son was there, visiting. We were numbed by the experience.

Great books on your stack…I love Slaughter. Enjoy!

  12. Great haul this week! Thank you so much for the free book links! 😀 There are always so many good ones! Have a great week 😀

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

  13. I still can’t believe it is 15 years ago. Hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  14. I now teach students who weren’t even alive for 9/11. They have no understanding of its importance and significance for our country because they don’t understand how devastating it was. To realize this as a person and an educator is surreal.

  15. I thought about the tragic 9/11 events since Friday and I’m a South African… it really did shock the whole world. Iv’e just downloaded Jodi and the Library Card! Thanks for sharing! Such an awesome idea every week. Hope your week will be good. Here’s my Sunday Headlines: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/09/the-sunday-headlines-1.html

  16. Friday at school one of the teachers was mentioning the 9/11 tragedy to the students. And we realized they weren’t even born when it happened. They were mostly born in 2002! I have been teaching for 10 years now and this is the first time I have had kids who have no frame of reference for it at all. Its strange because I remember it so vividly I struggle to think its been 15 years! One of the friars at school said it is just like when he used to teach the Kennedy assassination and realized in the 70’s that to his students, it was ancient history they weren’t even alive for.

  17. The fish on the Free Fish Friday cover is a Mahi Mahi, right?
The Lobby looks so interesting and a little bit eerie.
    Happy reading!

It looks like you got a lot of good books. I hope you enjoy them!

  19. Europa’s cover is so understated I hope the story is better. I know I’m such a cover whore! lol

    Happy week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I think it’s pretty.I had a great time reading it and you can bet I’ll be reading the series. I have to know what happens to these characters.

  20. I was in the 4th grade when it happened and I still can’t get the faces of my teachers out of my head. I didn’t fully understand what had happened but the devastation on their faces… Enjoy your week, sweetie

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks for sharing. I often wondered about the children that were in their classes at school.I imagine it must have been scary when the teachers reacted to the horrible event.

  21. Got My Book says:

I picked up Jodie and the Library Card & Myths of the Mirror. Thanks for the links.

  22. atothewr says:

15 years since – wow! I look at the date 9/11 every year just a little bit different. Never leaves my mind.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. You aren’t entirely focused on the date as it creeps up. Then, it’s 9/11 and memories and feelings come rushing back in.

  23. yvonne473 says:

Hard to believe it’s been 15 years. I still remember where I was and everything about that horrible day.

As always some great books on your list – some are on my wishlist. Hope you have a great week!

  24. Lauren Helms says:

Girl of Mine looks fun. I just read your review and now I’m gonna add it to my Goodreads list! Have a great week.

  25. Some great looking books…as always. Thanks for taking the time.

Who Walks the Night caught my eye. I like the spooky blurb and the lighthouse setting.

  27. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

Ooooh. Once again new books to me here in your list. I’m going to have to investigate! LOL!

Hope you have a great week!
