Well, it’s happening again. I’m not receiving email notifications from all of your lovely blogs! My tour host says it’s not from their end. My email provider says it’s not from my end. So, what the ?!!!! Please bear with me as I work to fix things. I will be stopping by your posts as often as I can. Though it will take a bit longer as I have to open your older posts to get to the new ones.

For those of you who follow my blog by email, are you getting email notifications when I publish a post?

Got any plans for Halloween? I’m loading up on scary movies and reading some good horror, suspense, and thriller books in all genres. I’m surprised I don’t have nightmares. Do you have nightmares after watching a scary movie or reading a book?

I watched the new episode of The Walking Dead. It was the hardest episode to watch ever. And I was right! I can’t believe who they killed off. I was teary eyed, watching through my fingers. What a horrible episode! Did you watch it?

So, what did you get to read this week?

Got any recommendations?

I’d love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.

  1. Greg Hill says:

I did not watch the Walking Dead because I knew it was going to be gruesome. I’m not normally squeamish but I heard people say it was the most violent thing they’ve seen on TV, and I knew who died because I was on Twitter at the time and you know… Twitter. lol so I’ll skip it. I just think they’re milking that way too much. Plus I caught some of it on Youtube without all the bashing. 🙂

As usual you have some good looking scary reads. My plans for Halloween are hopefully to pass out some candy and either read or watch something scary. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had to watch it through my fingers it was so gory. I even closed my eyes and covered my ears at one point. It is the most awful scene I think I’ve ever seen as it was so real. The entire episode was nerve wracking too. Happy Halloween!

  2. Sorry about the email notification issues :-/ I don’t watch The Walking Dead, but yikes, I’m reading you and Greg’s comments, and my goodness, that sounds crazy! There’s no way I could ever watch that episode then because I’ve had to look away just while watching Supernatural lol. I can handle gory books, but not movies/shows. Although I am really curious now as to what could’ve been so awful. Maybe I’ll just go Google it and read about it.

Oh, and I like both covers of Shade, but I think I like the first one better! Happy Halloween 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, TWD episode about killed me. I just couldn’t watch it and I couldn’t look away, so I peeked through my fingers. I like both covers for Shade also. Not sure yet which I like better.

  3. Yay, you got the Nurse Dragon book. I love the cover of Vitalize and I still am loving the cover of Run. I have been trying to get my scare on reading wise, but although some of the stories have been creepy, I have yet to come across a scary one. I found quite a few $1.99 ebooks I have been wanting, so I was happy. Have a wonderful week and Happy Halloween. ?

    • fuonlyknew says:

I couldn’t resist that cute little dragon. I want one. LOL I did find one book that scared me really good. Will be reviewing it soon. i also went on a little shopping spree. So many books at great low prices, I couldn’t help myself.

  4. Deborah says:

Love the Halloween and witchy theme to your reading. It’s not a big thing here in Australia (I might have mentioned that before) but growing in popularity!

I must check out the comps though and see if any are international! 😉

    • fuonlyknew says:

I recall you mentioning that. It’s especially fun for the kids. I loved it when I was a youngster. I couldn’t believe how many witchy books were out there. LOL

  5. Love the cover for Onyx Web it’s amazing! I haven’t watched the Walking Dead in a few series, kept meaning to get into it again but never actually has…I can imagine they didn’t feel bad about killing off big characters though!

Have a great week & happy reading!

    http://a-reader-lives-a-thousand-lives.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/sunday-post-30102016.html

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love the covers too. Onyx Webb is a fantastic series. Only three books left to go and I’m already dreading the end.

  6. B.B. Toady says:

What a bother, these technical issues! Isn’t is just beyond frustrating? I hope you get it figured out soon.
I like to be a little creeped out, but I do have the occasional nightmare when I watch something beyond what I know I can normally handle.
Thanks for the list of free books. I love the promise of some good Halloween books.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m at a loss about it right now. Hoping it will sort itself out with the next update. I had to grab a few of these free books myself:)

  7. Happy Halloween! I’m making a tbr just for it and am looking forward to shivers and scares! That’s odd about the email notifications, I haven’t seen that before but I hope you get to the bottom of it. Sounds frustrating!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have a shelf that’s actually for the whole year as I read a lot of scary books. LOL I’m crossing my fingers I can get things working again. So strange that it just happened out of the blue.

  8. I follow you through bloglovin so on their page I see every post you have put up when it comes out so no issues there. None of these companies ever want to take responsibility or bother themselves with actually checking things are working. Keep on at the lazy muppets! The first Shade cover looks like YA PNR so that would’ve put me off reading the blurb. The second cover looks more like urban fantasy and is more striking which would’ve made me check the blurb but the plot still wouldn’t interest me I’m afraid!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You can bet they’ll keep hearing from me. One of them has to know what’s going on. It’s funny how important a books cover can be. I have read books on recommendations and the covers were terrible, but the content was excellent. Now, I read samples to be sure.

  9. Wishing the gremlins leave, maybe they are just visiting for Halloween and will leave on their own. 🙂

  10. I am going to be watching my two favorite classic horror movies, The Wolf Man and Dracula while probably reading something…I am a multitasker. 🙂 I don’t watch The Walking Dead but heard it was pretty bad, do you think having them kill off some main characters will make some not watch anymore?

Just when I think I have all the freebies you through at me there was three I grabbed…lol.

Oh and I still get your email notifications. 🙂 Hope you figure that out, have you checked to see if you need to update any plugins.

    Stormi
    Week in Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do that too, Stormi. read and watch television. It’s easier if you’ve seen the movie before. LOL I love the classic horror films, especially the black&white ones and the silent films.
I got ya on the freebies and you got me too!. So did Sherry. Check hers out!

  11. I don’t watch TWD but I know everyone was upset this week! I also don’t watch scary movies. I’m such a wimp. I have 0 tolerance for scary stuff. Halloween is my LEAST favorite holiday ever. If it weren’t for the candy, I would seriously hate it.
    Have a good week!

  12. That sounds really frustrating. I hope you can find out what’s wrong with the notifications soon! 😉
I’m definitely not looking forward to watching the new ‘Walking Dead’ episode. Sigh..
    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We’re so used to everything working with a click, that when it doesn’t, we go batty. LOL I’m curious about tonight’s episode of TWD. So glad to get last week behind me.

  13. I follow your blog and did get an email notification. I’m still on the last season of TWD. But I do know what happens because of spoilers everywhere. I don’t mind knowing, it takes away the suspense LOL

Hope you have a great week and Happy Halloween! ~Aleen
    http://lampshadereader.com/2016/10/30/sunday-post-6-buns-and-roses-tea-for-literacy/

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I just can’t get others right now. Sigh.
You’ll still need to brace yourself once you get to this season. It’s heartbreaking and horrendous.

  14. My daughter was all excited about The Walking Dead coming out again….but I don’t watch it. I don’t like zombies…lol.

You are all set with creepy looking books. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  15. Charming Death looks good. I had an issue a long time ago and we added some POP thingy to my blog, not sure exactly as I did not do it. I hope it gets resolved.

Hopefully it resolves itself. Have a good week and enjoy those scary stories.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m hoping it fixes itself too! i sure don’t know what to do with it. LOL There were some really fun books this week. I didn’t grab all of them but I was tempted.

  16. Shandy Jo says:

Oh my you have so many of my favorites listed up there. I loved Ani Gonzales’s series and the Ellie Jordan novels are some of my faves. I stopped watching TWD after they introduced the biker gang it was just to cliche, and predictable. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s always fun to find someone who likes the same authors and series I do. This season of TWD is looking strange. Guess I’ll see where it goes. I have high expectations to meet. LOL

  17. katarguelles says:

Thanks for sharing the freebies! I grabbed a couple of the cozy mysteries. I don’t like scary movies because I can’t sleep after I watch them lol. But we’ll watch a Halloween comedy, like Hocus Pocus, to get in the mood. I hope you figure out your email issue. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I adore cozies. They are perfect for when you want to relax, escape, and have fun. I enjoy the Halloween cartoons!

  18. yvonne473 says:

I subscribe to your blog and get email notifications when you post something.

I watched The Walking Dead and I’m still shocked. I just can’t get over it.

I’m not a big Halloween person and I’m hoping it will be a quiet one. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I usually rewatch the episode the next week or later that night. I couldn’t bear it this time. I plan to stay home for Halloween, watch some TV, and eat a little candy. I love the popcorn balls. LOL

  19. I’m so sorry you’re having notification problems with your blog! That’s the worst because it could be such tiny thing to try and find and fix.

And I love watching all the scary movies on TV, too!! I’ve been loading up on all the Halloween movies and shows all weekend – no nightmares yet 😉

I heard about that Walking Dead episode and how they dragged out the “big reveal”. I would have walked away and came back at the end, the way they were talking about all the killing. You think the series may be done soon???

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The hardest part is not knowing when or if it will be fixed and it sure takes a long time to visit all of the blogs I follow now. We’ll see what happens:)
I have so many movies chosen, I’ll be watching them all next month too. LOL
I think the series will go on for a couple more seasons at least. I’m still interested.

  20. I had my comments go weird a couple weeks ago, and ended up changing my commenting system. I lost all of my old comments, but at least they work now. Have a fun Halloween! 🙂

  21. Roberta says:

I always though I was too squeamish for horror movies, but then I was okay watching the gross stuff on Bones. Go figure…

The H.L. Burke looks interesting. Congrats on picking it up for free.

  22. I don’t usually have nightmares related to things I watch or read, but I do have them on occasion. I don’t have much planned for tomorrow at all, I’ll probably be reading most of the day and if I can find some movies on tv I’ll watch those like I did today.
The Walking Dead episode was pretty brutal, but I’ve seen the comics so I saw it coming as soon as they announced Negan. And it looked pretty much exactly like the panel in the comics, but the reality of it was definitely pretty disgusting.

I hope you have a great week!

  23. It’s been a great week to grab some witch freebies on Amazon. I will truly be sad to see Halloween go. I still have some horror reads planned for November – who do I kid, I read them all year round. December will include some lighter reads but I hope to finally get to Brom’s Krampus. I’ve been obsessed with it since I bought the hardcover earlier this year!

  24. Got My Book says:

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween when it comes to books, since I don’t do horror (or even just scary). But I do like the newer trend towards “cozy” Halloween books.

Cora and the Nurse Dragon looks adorable. Unfortunately I don’t really like either of the covers for Shade.

  25. I hope your Halloween is amazing! I plan to do pretty much nothing, so hurray! Thank you for all the freebies 😀

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

  26. jsamuelsen says:

Right now I am reading Plaid and Plagiarism. Great haul you have and thanks for sharing the freebies.

  27. vendija723 says:

My 12 year old just asked me today if he could watch Walking Dead, and I just laughed. Later he lost a tooth and was freaking out about how much it was bleeding, and said, “I guess if this is upsetting me this much I might not be ready for that show.” Ya think?

  28. atothewr says:

I am still receiving your emails. I also watched that episode and I haven’t got back to the show yet this week. Not sure I will. Hope you had a scary good Halloween!

  29. I follow by email and am getting email notifications when you post. I have been MIA for the last month, so I haven’t been keeping up well with anyone. I think I need to take an official hiatus and stop running myself ragged trying to at least do something, and feeling bad for not getting around to seeing all you guys and commenting back. :/

  30. Lola says:

I hope you can fix the issue with you not receiving e-mail notifications, that’s so weird! You probably already did this, but did you check your spam? I’ve had some comment reply notifications land in spam recently.
I have nightmares without reading any scary stuff. But I usually don’t like the real scary stuff and stick to cozy mysteries or a bit of romantic suspense. i hope you had a fun halloween and a great week!

  31. I hope you had a great Halloween! I worked and got to participate in my library’s trick or treat, passing out candy and pinwheel toys. We had some new teens and kids who stopped by which was cool.

Hopefully your technical difficulties have worked themselves out too.
