This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

So……It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Well, it’s windy and rainy, but it’s still warm! Sometimes I like it when it rains. I stay home and watch movies. Watched The Shallows last night. Have you seen it yet? I thought it was pretty good. Definitely had some tense moments. Anything with a shark trying to eat someone is a winner in my book. Also watched Blair Witch. Felt almost like a repeat and was even less scary.  Now I’m biding my time for the return of The Walking Dead. Rick’s got his mojo back and I can’t wait to see what they do. I hope Carol finds her mojo again. I’m not liking her role as a loner. Miss that girl!

I’ve also read a bunch of books. Can’t wait to share my reviews. For now, I have some good ones to show you today and the usual batch of freebies for ya!

I liked The Shallows… thought it was pretty good. And yeah The Walking Dead- will be good to (hopefully) see Rick, Carol and daryl take the reins of that group again and kick a little butt! lol

The Shark in the Park looks cute, and I like the look of the LAst City of America.

  2. Some of the titles you acquired look downright chilling. So of course I want…lol I love rainy days. I agree it allows for some chilling out 🙂 Have a wonderful week!

  3. jdrhawkins says:

Greetings. I was wondering if you would feature my new novel on your blog and newsletter. It is titled A Rebel Among Us. Please check out my website for more info: http://jdrhawkins.com and let me know if you are interested in featuring my book. Thank you so much.

  4. I want to see The Shallows…I love shark films even the dumbest sounding ones on the SF channel! I’ve read and abandoned a couple of the books you mentioned-Marilyn Peake and Felicia Jedlicka-hope you’ll like them better!

  5. I’ve always liked rain too. Just not when I have to drive far or grocery shop. Then I don’t like it so much.

I’ve never seen The Shallows, but I once watched a movie about people stuck in a safari car while lions stalked them and basically just waited for them to come out or die, so I imagine it was probably similar lol.

  6. sjhigbee says:

We haven’t had so much rain this week – instead it’s been cold and frosty. I do enjoy winter sunshine until I have to drive along the coast and into the setting sun… Have a great week, Laura:). My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/01/22/sunday-post-22nd-january-2017/

  7. I love rainy days!! I am curious to see what you think of the Pam Goodwin book. I have heard people praise her previous works but I have never read anything by her! Have a great week!

  8. It’s raining here and I am not a huge rain fan but at least it’s not freezing and snowing. So I will take it. 🙂 Would be a nice lazy lay around day but I have church…lol.

I want to see The Shallows but haven’t yet, I am glad it was a decent watch. 🙂

    Enjoy your reads!

It’s sunny here now, with some strong winds. Supposed to cool down a bit around Thursday. I’ll try not to complain. LOL The Shallows was intense!

  9. Berls says:

I enjoy rainy days, as long as I don’t have to go out in them. When I have to go outside, they suck lol. Some scary looking picks this week! Enjoy… I’m a scardy cat so I’ll probably skip them but have fun 😉

  10. Katherine P says:

We are warm here too though up until a few days ago it was warm and pretty out. I do like a rainy day now and then – especially when I can stay home! I haven’t seen The Shallows yet but I’m curious. You got some interesting looking books! I love the look of The Picture Frame – very creepy. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll take rainy and warm over cold any day! I’ve read several of Iain’s books and The Picture Frame sounds like another fun one.

  11. I haven’t seen the Shallows before, but it sounds great! I also need to start watching the Walking Dead soon!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The shark was super scary. And I loved the underwater filming of the surfers. It sure shows why a shark might want to eat you.

  12. katarguelles says:

I enjoy rainy days at home. But having to drive to work has been awful. I don’t like scary movies but I did watch the original Blair Witch movie. I get motion sickness so the jerking of the cameras gave me a headache so I didn’t really think the movie was great lol. But that did have a great concept. I hope you have a great week!!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Found footage films can be good, but I felt they went a bit over with this one. I also got disoriented from the jerking around.

  13. charliegirl says:

It has been crazy windy last night and today. I hope it subsides before I leave in the morning on my long drive. I never saw Blair Witch and I’m okay with that! lol

  14. yvonne473 says:

I saw the new Blair Witch movie. It was okay. The Shallows is on my list to watch. I’m definitely looking forward to The Walking Dead.

I do enjoy rainy days when I can stay home and not have to be anywhere. Have a great week!

  15. Deborah says:

I’m really shark phobic so there’s no way I’ll watch The Shallows. I’m still traumatised from watching Jaws 40yrs ago!!! (And reading the book!)

Am glad the weather’s been nice… it’s hot here and some rain would be wonderful!

    • fuonlyknew says:

After Jaws, I was afraid to swim in the ocean. After more films, I no longer do. That’s what my pool is for now. LOL

  16. Thanks for stopping by my SP & STS earlier Laura! I can’t wait for TWD to come back too! Hope you enjoy your new books!

I have a lot of fun visiting other posts. Just wish I had time to see them all. As it is, I usually spend a couple of hours commenting around.

  17. B.B. Toady says:

I like rainy days too, especially on weekends. We don’t get a lot of rain whee we are, so it’s even more of a treat than where we used to live when we had more gray skies than sunny. It’s relaxing to read and binge watch some shows and know that there is little else to be done anyway.

  18. Okay, you made me grab a couple. I had to have the one by Steve Wells, seeing we have a brother by that name. LOL

  19. I want to watch The Shallows but my husband doesn’t seem too thrilled to. We saw the new Blair Witch too and even though I actually liked it better than the original, I still am not a fan of movies formatted like it is. We watched a movie on Netflix called “Hush.” It was a recommendation from Bark’s Book Nonsense and I LOVED it. Hubby liked it too. I had to grab “Corn, Cows and the Apocalypse” because really, with a title like that, how could I resist!

  20. I’m way behind on The Walking Dead—I definitely need to catch up!! I used to work out to it, but I haven’t worked out since school started (I homeschool my kids) … maybe TWD is the motivation I need! LOL!

  21. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

Wow. Great stack of books. And yes, it’s nice to relax when it’s raining, and watch tv. 🙂

Hope you have a great week!
