She sat down at her desk and lit a cigarette and took a long satisfying drag. One of her brother’s lines about smoking came to mind: “I’m almost ready to start thinking about thinking about quitting.” Yeah, that was about right. She was thinking about putting a plan in place to think about quitting. Until then, there was nothing like a cup of coffer and a cigarette to put the world right.
LOL I was a long time smoker and this sounds so like me. I did finally quit smoking over a year ago. Still miss it like crazy at times. especially with a cup of coffee or while on the computer.

Synopsis
People are dropping like flies at the Happy Times RV Park and Charlene is afraid she might be next if she doesn’t figure out why. The gig as manager of the park in a small town on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi seemed perfect for a writer trying to find time to write her second book, until a resident is found with his brains splattered on his tacky old couch.
Charlene is not alone, she has people to help her out or maybe get her killed. Gus is a good looking cop with a secret past. Maggie looks like everybody’s idea of a perfect grandma, but Charlene finds out she was once the richest madam in the Dixie Mafia. Dave, who may or may not be on the FBI’s most wanted list, is a ZZ Top look alike with the hots for Paula Deen.
Will secrets from the past be the death of her or will Charlene along with Boo, Loretta, and Jinx, her trio of neurotic animals make it out alive?
This book has two different covers. The first is the one on Amazon and the second is from Goodreads.

There is some snarky humor in it. I like the artsy look of the first cover but I also like the dark look of the second one.

Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I ever did. I loved it but don’t miss all the nasty that goes with it.
Hah this sounds awesome! Such different covers though- the first one with the blood seems funny and dark at the same time? I thought maybe a zombie book. the second cover is totally different, with the pier and hotel? I’m not sure which I like better!
