This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

It’s been a busy week. Work wasn’t too bad so I had a lot of time in the pool. Also been watching Shark Week. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m very disappointed. Not much new content. And do you notice how different shows use the same small film clips. If they are going to cheat, at least don’t make it so obvious. I saw the same clip for a great white in three different shows. And the shows weren’t even about the same area. I’ll keep watching as I’m fascinated by sharks, but I feel let down. How about you?

I won’t be sharing the list of free books this post. I love browsing and trying to find something for everyone to choose from. But, my brother is coming down to visit this weekend and we are all going to be busy having fun. Since I like to make sure the books I share are still free, I won’t be around to check my post before it’s published and decided not to share any.

I might be late but I’ll be around to visit your posts. Happy Sunday!

I haven’t seen any Shark Week, it’s been like a no- TV week for me lol. But yeah that sucks when they do that, sharing clips and stuff. Ugh. Sorry this weeks Shark stuff has been disappointing.

    The Mechanic’s Mate looks good!

Marley just chills me right out. 🙂 Listening to every Little Thing and it’s like I’m on the beach, no worries… 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep. Shark Week is a fail for me. But this week shows promise with Scy Fy channel shark movies leading up to Sharknado 5! I love Marley. He does put you in a mellow mood:)

  2. I hope you have lots of fun with your brother 🙂 it’s too bad the shark movies disappointed you, but when you think about it, isn’t it super funny they all use the same shark sequence? 😀 I somehow thought it’s ridiculous. That we stereotype sharks by ONE GUY. Imagine someone saw you and based their idea of humans solely on you. The sharks should be well pissed off at us, for… for sharkism or something 😀

    • fuonlyknew says:

“Sharkism” I like that word. LOL Guess we shouldn’t give them the chance to show us what they think. I have a healthy fear of them and no longer swim in the ocean. But I do think they’re magnificent creatures.

  3. Anastasia says:

Oh you had a good amount of posts this week! Wish I could post as much!

    I just love Bob Marley<3

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s been busy fun here:) Marley just mellows me right out. Love to listen to him when I’m stressed out.

  4. What is this shark week you’re talking about? I have no idea what it is, and I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of it :O
Have fun with your brother! I’m glad work is OK so you have time for the pool.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Every year. the National Geographic channel shares a bunch of shark studies shows. A lot of them are educational and some are about attacks. Usually very entertaining but this year I felt let down. I still love to watch them though. Sharks are scary and fascinating.

  5. Three Little Birds is a great song, I like that one. I like quite a bit of reggae stuff. I used to watch Shark Week on Discovery but it all got a bit samey and now I just read shark books and watch shark films!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like the soul of reggae. Hey, since Shark Week failed we now get a whole week of shark movies leading up to Sharknado 5. LOL I’m also looking for some new shark stories. They don’t write enough of those!

  6. Have a great time with you brother. 😉
    Final Girls looks interesting!
Have a great week and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We’re having lots of fun. Went to a ball game and then been funning in the sun:) Final Girls had quite a twisted ending.

  7. I was looking forward to cheesy shark movies on Syfy this week and not one shark movie at all. 🙁 It’s the only channel I get that would have done anything for shark week since we stream sling TV. I am not much on documentaries but like watching stupid people get eaten…lol.

Enjoy your time with your brother!
    Stormi

  8. My disappointment with Shark Week? A mention of the Giant Squid!!! UGH!! I scream every time they mention that freaking Giant Squid!!! And how many times can they call a shark “alien”??? WTH??? I have to say, the Goblin Shark is pretty freaking crazy, though!!! *chomp*

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah. I’ve watched several shows about those squid. Not what they try to make them out to be, at all. I caught at least two shows about “alien” sharks. Some of them were bizarre. The elephant shark was so weird too.

  9. Sorry shark week was a bummer. I hate when shows use the same clips and don’t even try to disguise it. Its just lazy.
Hope you have a nice day with your brother!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It happened often enough that I caught myself watching for them. Ugh! We’re having lots of fun and planning more for next weekend.

  10. krazaykris says:

Well that sucks! I don’t watch Shark Week but that’s because I don’t have cable. I would be very disappointed if all the various shows were showing the same footage. :\

  11. I’m not a huge Shark Week fan. More the educational side, as I’ve made that into a unit of study for my research unit for my students. I do love Hallmark’s Christmas movies, though, and I hate it when it’s the same movies over and over each year with only a couple new ones. It is disappointing. I hope there’s at least something good still left to see. Enjoy your time with your brother!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love the Hallmark Christmas movies and I know what you mean. We can only wait and hope, right:)

  12. House on Devil’s Bar has such a captivating cover. I’m also curious about Final Girls. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  13. Jenea says:

I was disappointed with Shark week too. I stopped watching about Tuesday. 🙁 You did get some great looking books though. I Final Girls will be a good one. Enjoy.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I tuned in here and there but didn’t find much interesting. I have them recorded for when I was busy but have a feeling not much to learn this year. Final Girls was good.

  14. Great set of books you got there and I need to watch Shark Week sometime!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Got lots of good new ones to read this summer. Shark Week did have a couple of interesting episodes but most were just more of the same from last year.

  15. Katherine P says:

I love the idea of Shark Week but haven’t been in love with the shows. I agree that it seems like a lot of retread which is too bad because sharks are fascinating – creepy but fascinating. Great looking books! Final Girls especially is on my TBR. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was talking with my sister and we agreed that one year isn’t much time to study changes in sharks and find new content to air. Maybe next year will be better. Final Girls was good. The ending kind of surprised me.

  16. I haven’t been able to watch Shark Week, unfortunately!

Check out my Sunday Post at El’s Book Reviews!

Hope you have a great day!

  17. No time for Sunday post. On the run…from sharks. lol

  18. So I really have to buy Hounded. I stumbled across a list on Booktube a few weeks ago of horror books featuring dogs and I’m slowly trying to accumulate them – many are out of print. These are must have additions to that search (running off to check your reviews). Enjoy your time with your brother!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I browsed my Kindle and found a bunch of dogs books. Hounded was a good series. Maybe a bit too long for some.

  19. Drangonfly says:

I SUPER LOVE BOBBY and that is MY favorite song!! thanks for sharing it! No Sharks for me please. I’m a 80s child and I can swim in open waters because of Jaws. we went to Cape Cod a few weeks ago and I shuddered just looking at the water. They were showing a “annual migration of huge whites to Cape Cod” yesterday and I had to change the channel LOL what a wuss I am omg! LOL

  20. K. Elizabeth says:

I hope you have a great time hanging out with your brother! I love it when my siblings and I get together. We have an absolute blast. It also helps that we love the same shows and books. So we’re constantly texting about what we’re reading or watching.
