This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

Another week of not much new. Been watching The Mist and Zoo and both of these aren’t doing anything for me. I rewatched Stranger Things and got caught up on Once Upon and iZombie.

As for books. I’ve finished a bunch and working on reviews. I’ve actually started working on my October posts. I want to have fun this Halloween. And doing some stuff for Christmas too. I have a bunch of holiday reads and want to share them and maybe have a couple of cute giveaways this year.

Other than that, been spending time with family. My brother and Mom head back north today and I’ll sure miss them. Time will fly, they’ll get fed up with the cold, and after the new year I expect a phone call saying they’re heading back down. LOL

I’ll be heading over to your posts soon. Happy Sunday!

  1. Are you not liking Zoo because you read the book? Cause I really liked it but haven’t read the book. 🙂 I haven’t seen Mist so not sure about that one.

Have a great week and happy reading!

I’m not sure. The book was fun. It just seems so out there in the second season. It could be because it’s now moved way past the book. I’m going to keep watching it.

  2. Lauren says:

I really need to catch up on Once Upon too. I haven’t watched any of the newest season. I keep meaning to watch Stranger Things because everyone I know loves it, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet – one of these days! That’s great that you got a lot of posts done for the fall. It’s been a big relief for me for me to have some done as well. Your new books look great! Happy reading, and have a great week! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I binge watched all of Once Upon so I was ready for the newest episodes. I adore that show. Stranger Things has its hooks in me too. I have some posts done for later months but playing catch up with some due soon. It always seems that way. I do things backwards.LOL

  3. I haven’t done much watching this week. I have a couple reviews to write and I keep putting them off. If I don’t get to them today, I have to do them tomorrow. I’m also working on building up posts as far as I can before school starts.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had company these past 2 weekends so I tried to get some things ready ahead of time. Sorry about your father and wishing him a speedy recovery and a less stressful week ahead for you:)

  4. kozbisa says:

Confession: I have never read a James Patterson book. We got Expelled at BEA, so I may read my first though.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I loved his earlier books. Then I felt like some were written just so he’d keep his name out there. Then I found some good ones again. LOL

  5. Jenea says:

Wow, I was pretty excited that I have 2 weeks all scheduled out, I kinda feel like a slacker now. lol… Great job, I hope to be able to do that here soon. I always had my post all scheduled out like that before, but starting all over this time, I am behind. Enjoy all the new books.

    Happy reading,

    • fuonlyknew says:

It comes in spurts. I’ll be way ahead, take a break, and then have to scramble again. LOL I especially focus ahead for holidays as I’m usually too busy otherwise.

  6. Berls says:

October posts already?! Wow and I was proud of myself for being in September 🙂 You’ve just reminded me that I really want to get caught up on iZombie – I like that show but I don’t have the channel anymore so I haven’t seen the newest season.

Have a great week and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL If I don’t do post drafts ahead of time, I get caught by surprise and have to scramble to get caught up. With the holidays fast approaching I especially focus on those posts. iZombie is a fun show. And addictive.

  7. Wow! Lots of great books you’ve read! That cover to Optical Delusion looks brutal!

    Here’s my Sunday Post !

    • fuonlyknew says:

And just finished a couple more. I get these binge read mojos. LOL I really like Hunter’s books so I pre-ordered Optical Delusion. He’s a good one to turn to for scary reads.

  8. Lelia T says:

I’m watching The Mist but only because it’s Stephen King, not because it bears any real resemblance to the short story. I knew we were in trouble when I saw in the credits that it’s based on the “novel” 😉

  9. I must get a copy of Final Girls soon – you have a great stack of books there!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was lucky to get my hands on Final Girls. I was looking back at some reviews I’ve done and found so many with a similar title. Many had girls in the title. Coincidence? Or my mind saying read this one too. LOL

  10. Greg Hill says:

Ha ha it’s always nice to get down there and warm up, for those of us caught in the freezer zone. We’re thinking of going down in January or February, we’ll see if it happens. And I watched the first episode of The Mist and wasn’t super impressed. I did watch the first season of Zoo a year or so ago, but haven’t watched S2.

I love October posts and am looking forward to all the fall stuff. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hope you get a chance to come down. This has been a weird summer though. June was all rain and August has had some nights that were cooler. Makes me worry as we’ve already had some low pressure systems form in the GUlf. Crossing fingers we get through another hurricane season unscathed. The Mist is so different from the story. Maybe that’s why I’m struggling with it. Going to keep watching to see how it goes. And I still have hopes for Zoo.

  11. Fox’s books sound good. Yay for blogging ahead. It is really nice to plan ahead. Look forward to them! Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Carmen’s series is sassy fun:) And trick to blogging ahead is not to stop. I need to remember that. LOL

  12. I’m still on season 1 of Once Upon a Time (Is that the one you are referring to?).

Blogging ahead is something that I’m working on. I have ideas, but I just need to sit my butt down and writing them. LOL

Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep. I love the show! And it keeps getting better. I go in spurts with the blogging ahead. I’ll be doing great. Take a break. And have to rush to get ahead again. LOL

  13. El says:

The cover of The Meek looks so good! 🙂

Check out my Sunday Post at El’s Book Reviews!

Hope you have a great day!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It caught my eye. Then I read a sample and it seemed like a good fit. One of the few I grabbed this week.

  14. Sorry your family is leaving for a while, but sometimes we enjoy them more if we don’t see them for a little bit. Well, my family anyway. Ha ha. Have a fantastic week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Just talked to them and they made it home safely. I miss them already but they come down often. Before I know it, they’ll be back!

  15. I had to go grab a couple of those freebies. I can’t wait to get started on some Halloween reads. Then again, I read horror all year long so it probably won’t be much different for me 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I read it all the time too. LOL I’m putting together some fun things to go with the Halloween reviews this year. Figured I better get on it.

  16. What????!!!! You’re working on Halloween and Ch******s posts? EEK! My inner sloth is horrified!

  17. Grabbed way too many new ones. LOL
    sherry @ fundinmental

  18. That Zoo show looks too scary for me! I wonder how the book is? Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

  19. October?!! Girl, you are amazing. Right now, I’d be happy to be a week ahead. *shakes head ruefully*

Have a great week and enjoy that nice big book haul!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL Every year I say I’m going to get ahead on holiday posts. Especially Halloween and Christmas. And every year I end up scrambling. Not this year!

  20. Wow, looks like you had a busy blogging week! Glad you’ve been spending time with family, though, that’s awesome. But it’s always a shame when they leave 🙁 I hate goodbyes!

Hope you have a lovely week, Laura, and happy reading 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, It’s been bust times. LOL I had such fun with my family. It seems the older we get, the closer we become:)

  21. Yay for getting a jump on your fall and winter reads! I’ve been doing Christmas ones. Feels a spot silly reading about Christmas in June-August but kinda fun, too. lol

Hope you have a great weekend!
