This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

This week seemed so long. Probably because it was my first full week back at work. LOL Every day I came home and collapsed on the couch. Couldn’t seem to find the energy for my blog either. I think this is the least amount of posts for a week that I’ve done in some time. I managed to read a few books. And I watched the last two episodes of Game Of Thrones. Bazinga! What a season finale. Now a whole year until the last season.

I did manage to squeeze in some pool time in between rain storms. Hurricane Harvey dumped some rain on us, but nothing like in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Those poor people. Now we have Irma churning in the open waters. Going to be huge but I don’t think it will come our way. Crossing my fingers!

This is last weeks photo for the bananas.

Things are changing. Notice the yellow blossom?

And the bottom tips are darkening too.

I’m going to have to goggle about what the flower means.

I’ll be heading over to your posts soon. Happy Sunday!

  1. I hate to break this to you but it might be summer 2019 before the final series of Game of Thrones is on if rumours are to be believed! It’s unbearable! I wonder how many rewatches I can fit in until then…I do think I have enough posts to put on the blog to last me until then! I look forward to your 31 Days of Terror! I’m doing my usual horror month too and I’m already setting aside a few great looking books! I might even squeeze in a couple of favourite rereads…I’m also hoping to be watching a shed load of horror films next month!

No freakin way! How could they do that to us!!!! I’ll be with you on rewatching it. And now I can comment on your posts:) I have a bunch of books reviewed and more to do for October. And also have some horror movie posts and fun stuff planned. One good thing about fall, right:)

  2. atothewr says:

Glad to hear Harvey spared you. We are now watching Irma. Even 2 hours inland we have to worry here. Hope you have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Irma is looking bad for someone, Anthony. I wish it would be caught up in the jet stream and pulled away from land but not looking likely. Enjoy your holiday weekend.

  3. I hope that new hurricane doesn’t come near you! Can’t wait to see all your horror reviews you have stocked up for Oct. I am trying to get some posted for October as well. 🙂

    Have a great week!

Got a lot of posts ready and working on more. 31 posts is a lot. LOL That’s not including other review posts, tours, and memes. Irma looks like it will stay out of the Gulf but still way too early to tell. Crossing everything I can that it stays away.

  4. You’re all ready for a binge-read, too, I see! I love doing that 🙂 Spending lots of time within one book world is awesome.
I was tired this past week, too, and had to take a nap on Wednesday afternoon. My schedule is nice, though, so I don’t teach every single day.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I adore Bette’s books. I’m always swept away and feel so good when I’ve finished one of them:) A long weekend is just what the doctor ordered. Feeling relaxed and rested now:)

  5. Oh Killing Sarai was a good, dark read! I encourage everyone to grab that if its still free!! We got some of the left over rain from Harvey too but every time I see the devastation in Texas I am crushed. I can’t even imagine!! The students at my school do a mission trip to NOLA every year because that place is STILL recovering from Katrina. Harvey was a more powerful storm!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did grab Killing Sarai. It sounded like a good fit for me! I’m watching news about Texas. It’s still flooded and so many people lost everything and some perished. Just so incredibly sad. I visit NOLA now and then. You can still see damage on the drive over. Crossing fingers and toes Irma stays out of the Gulf. We’ve been so lucky for so long now not to be hit. Ivan hit us hard the year before Katrina.

  6. I love your bananas pictures!!!! That “thing” is wicked amazing!!! And I see you’re still being so good about picking up new books.

Ooooo, October horror books!!! I love that month!!! Can’t wait 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I am really enjoying sharing my banana pics. Starting to see some interesting changes now. And yes, I’m behaving with new book purchases, for now. LOL

  7. Those hurricanes are devilish! Glad you were spared….keep Irma at bay!

I like the bananas…and I think I’m going to have to read some of those Bette Lee Crosby books. Love the look of the titles.

Have a great week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

We’ve been so lucky here. Haven’t been hit by a hurricane since Ivan came roaring in in 2004. Irma has me a bit worried but looks like it won’t come in the Gulf. I hope you get a chance to try Bette’s books. They are lovely.

  8. We only ended up getting a day of drizzle. I feel so badly for the people in Texas and the surrounding states. I really hope Irm stays away and doesn’t do any damage. You got some great looking books this week and I am loving watching the banana progress.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had several days of rain bands and some wind from it. Not too bad. I feel for the people in Irma’s path. A very nasty one brewing. My bananas are finally changing. Doing some interesting things. LOL

  9. The Game of Thrones finale KILLED me! I have no idea how I’m supposed to wait for the next season! (Obviously it’s time to rewatch the whole thing.) Great haul this week and thanks for the freebies!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just binged the whole thing in 2 weeks to catch up! Now Chuckles mentioned it could be 2019 until the last season comes out. I’ll be able to watch it all over several times. LOL

  10. vvb says:

The Betty Lee Crosby with Paris themed cover catches my eye. She is a new author to me. I’ll have to check it out. Since Game of Thrones is done for awhile, I will probably do a binge of that book series. Happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I really enjoy Bette’s books in all of her series. I’ll be binging these:) Been kind of lost since I caught up on GOT. Now what?????LOL

  11. That is how I do every day when I come home. I HAVE to start leaving earlier and do some real self-care. I think a pool would make me feel so much better! Your banana plant is growing!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You need to leave earlier from work and give yourself a break:) From what I read on your post you must be getting home after dark every day. That can really wear you down. The pool is my escape and I would be lost without it. Probably wouldn’t even go outside. LOL

  12. I’m kind of worried about Irma. I hope it doesn’t make landfall. It’s going to take Houston a long time to recover. 🙁

I’m curious to know what that yellow flower means too!

Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Irma is still a ways out there but it looks like it will stay out of the Gulf and away from me. So many variables though so I’m not relaxing until it’s more certain on its track. I still need to go google what the flowers mean. Going to do that right now!

  13. Oooh! Your garden looks so good! My heart goes out to the people in Texas.

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just found a great video about the growth and harvesting of my bananas. Got a ways to go on that and it’ll be fun to share. I feel for all of the people and animals impacted by the hurricane. Been there and it’s a long road to recovery.

  14. Forecasts say she’s coming my way but it is what it is. More fun, Game of Thrones, yes. That season finale did have me blogging the show for the first time. Stop by the blog if you want to chat.

    • fuonlyknew says:

That forecast changed quickly in the last 24 hrs. I’m afraid what it might do in the next few days. GOT had me blogging about it too!
