This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

You’d never know that fall is coming from the weather we’re having here. It’s back up to 90 and the sun is so hot your skin feels like it’s on fire. Makes that pool so delicious to dip into. I figure I have quite a few more weeks until I’ll be thinking first before jumping in. LOL

Been reading a lot. Mostly horror and thrillers for my 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills posts in October. But I’ve slipped in a few cozies and some children’s books too.

And been watching a lot of shows and movies. I’m binging Longmire right now. Starting back at the beginning and watching the entire show now that it’s concluded. The first new episode in Fear The Walking Dead felt like a dud for me. Two hours of not much of anything. Did you watch it? What did you think?

Now I’m waiting for The Walking Dead and Survivor.

This is last weeks photo for the bananas.

Nothing has changed with my banana tree so I thought to share some of the other things growing in my back yard.

This is the corner of my house where the banana trees grow. As you can see, that new leaf coming out of the top goes way above my roof.

I bought this plant at the local nursery several years ago. I was trimming it to look more like a tree but this year I left it alone.

It has these beautiful violet flowers that dangle on thin threads from the branches. In the sun they look blue.

I’ll hopefully have new photos of progress on my bananas to share next week.

I’ll be heading over to your posts soon. Happy Sunday!

My new books this week. Got a couple of thrillers. And both are new authors for me so I’m very excited to read these.

I kinda fell away from Fear the Walking Dead a while back. Maybe I’ll pick it back up. Hopeful that the Walking Dead will pick up the pace and we’ll get some Alexandria vs Saviors action this season and not a bunch of talking lol.

Glad the pool is as inviting as ever. πŸ™‚ It’s cooled off some here but we’re expecting 80’s again later next week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

That action has begun. You missed the tiger! I watched a pre-season special of Talking Dead and they say this season starts fast and the first few episodes are all action. It’s steamy hot and I plan to head out to the pool in a bit.

  2. Oooh! Your banana tree looks beautiful! And I hope you enjoy all your new reads!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Winds from Hurricane Irma battered the leaves a bit but the banana stalk hung in there. Now waiting to see if it will get back to producing or if I lost them.

  3. I haven’t watched Fear the Walking Dead but it hasn’t been getting great reviews. I’ve got a lot of stuff taped that I need to look at and see what is worth following and what needs deleting. I stopped watching The Walking Dead at the end of season 3 and never continued with it. There were a few plot things I didn’t like in it and I’m not sure when I’ll go back to it.

  4. I am binging on Longmire too to be prepared for the final season out in October as it has one last season still to come. I always start from the beginning when it gets close to the new season coming out so I will be all fresh about what is going on…lol. πŸ™‚ After the final season I guess I will just have to get more of the books to continue my Longmire fix even though they are soooo totally different (read two of them)

The weather this week was pretty warm but it’s going to rain for 3 or 4 days so that will probably change. πŸ™

Have a great week and happy reading!

I thought it was over. Now I’m really glad I’m binging it! It’s sunny and hot and I’ll be heading out to do something and taking a swim in a bit. Gotta get out there before the afternoon eat brews up some rain.

  5. I love all your plants!! super cool!! Enjoy your tv binges!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I didn’t realize how many plants I had until I started taking pictures. LOL I’m almost done with Longmire and waiting for the finale now.

  6. Yvonne says:

I loved Longmire. I watched the first season of Fear the Walking Dead, but then I lost interest.

I read Shadow Girl and loved it. Hope you do too. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m almost to the last episode in season five right now. I’m glad you enjoyed Shadow Girl. I just put it on my night stand to read later.

  7. I love your banana tree! Even though I had to turn my head sideways, it is such a cool tree to have on the corner! Will the bananas be here before it gets “cold”? It sure is taking forever!!! I want progress!!!!!!! πŸ™‚

Enjoy all your shows!! I saw you’re watching Longmire and I’ve heard such great things about it!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m hoping they grow before it gets too cool. They do better in heat. Kind of worried about them now. Longmire is great. I am so glad that are doing the sixth season.

  8. Great haul! The books are all new to me. Enjoy, and have fun bingeing on Longmire. I loved that show, so maybe I should start over at the beginning, too.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

That’s what I did. Longmire is returning next month for a sixth season so I thought I’d binge all of it to be ready!

  9. It’s so cool that you have a banana tree! I would love to have fruit trees, but we live ina wooded development and I think the deer would just eat the fruit right off the tree — if it even got as far as fruit. They’re just as likely to eat the flower buds and new shoots, like they do to my hostas.

That’s a nice book haul. Enjoy!

  10. sjhigbee says:

I love your banana tree – it does look spectacular:). I’m also very jealous of your warm, sunny weather – we are well and truly in autumn mode here with night temperatures dropping fast – the heating came on a couple of days ago:(. We are binge-watching Game of Thrones at present as I bought the first 6 series for Himself for his birthday. Oh my goodness! Have a great week, Laura:)

    • fuonlyknew says:

The heat came on. Yikes! I do enjoy getting out my cold weather clothes. Most of the time all I need is jeans and long sleeved t-shirts, thankfully! I remember you mentioned buying Game Of Thrones for your hubby. You are in for the show of a,lifetime!

  11. It only feels like fall in the early morning hours. Once the sun starts coming up, it burns off. Your skin definitely feels like it’s burning off! I hope you have a great week!

  12. Evelina says:

The banana update looks sweet! I can’t believe it’s still so hot there. We are already wearing coats where I live πŸ˜€ but that’s okay. It’s not cold yet. Just not warm either πŸ˜€
You have a wonderful reading week! πŸ™‚

  13. katarguelles says:

I only watched the first season of The Walking Dead. I need to rewatch it (since I can’t remember much about it) and binge the entire show. Your garden looks great. I hope the weather cools down for you to enjoy it. I hope you have a great week!

  14. I really enjoy Longmire. I hate to see it end. I’m really looking forward to your October feature. I finished two Hunter Shea books this past week and have been reading lots of thrillers, horror and mysteries for my Halloween Bingo Challenge. It’s supposed to be in the 80’s all week here in my part of WV. Guess indian summer has arrived.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m all done with Longmire until the new episodes start. What a cliff hanger! LOL And I’ve been reading a bunch of horror and thrillers too. Now and then I grab a lighter read to give myself a break.

  15. Berls says:

We’ve been hot too – but that’s typical of Dallas. I expect things to cool down in October. Ahh Fear of the Walking Dead. My husband and I watched a couple episodes when it first came out but really never got into it. We’ve also stopped watching Walking Dead too though. We just got tired of it. *shrugs*

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, I’m east of you and we get similar temps here. I’m looking forward to Survivor. My sister got me watching it and I find it fun.

  16. It’s been warmer here too—but not that warm. I was thinking we really should have closed our pool this weekend while it was still warm. Once it gets truly cold, it’s an unpleasant task. Of course, we didn’t do it, though.

I’m watching season 7 of Walking Dead right now, but I haven’t seen Fear the Walking Dead. I’ll have to check it out.

  17. Katherine P says:

Our temps have been heading back up to and I’m not loving it. I don’t want it to be cold but 70s is not bad! I haven’t watched any of The Walking Dead shows but my husband does and he was seriously unimpressed by this latest episode. He was on the fence about Fear the Walking Dead anyway and this didn’t help. I love that you have banana trees! Have a great week!

  18. Well come on bananas I want some action, ha ha. Thanks for the stand in plant photos. Funny that I would still visit blogs if all they did was post pics of their plants. They mesmerize me for some reason.

It got hot and humid here, too. Mid 80s, but that isn’t unusual for us, but I still don’t care for it.

I love the cover of Hippie Bus. I hope you had a wonderful week. I am making my rounds really late this week. πŸ™‚
