This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

It’s already moving into the second week of November but it sure doesn’t feel like it here. Been in the 80s and muggy. I’m not complaining. It’s usually January before winter really starts to set in. And then the really cold blasts are only for a few days. A lot of my winter plants are blooming and the summer plants are kind of starting to die back. I love that most things in my yard stay green year round.

Oh, some great news! It seems like only one kind of my pecans isn’t good but all of the others are okay and I’m back to making some money. There are many kinds of pecans, from Elliots, which are the ones I make the most money on and are rotten this year, to all kinds of seedlings, which I’m now making big money on this year. So I’m spending my weekend gathering them up to take to the wholesaler. Going to sock the money away for Christmas, which is coming fast!

I hope you all had a fabulous week and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Yikes, second week of November and I don’t even know what happened to the first one. I blinked and now here we are!

Glad you are loving your garden and greenery the whole year round is a winner. 🙂

Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hear ya! It’s sneaking up on me. I usually have most of my shopping already done and I haven’t even started!

  2. I need to get round to reading Hell Divers at some point but I just have too many to pick from right now!

  3. It’s nice that your pecans can haul in money just in time for Christmas!

  4. Glad that not all the pecans are bad. I didn’t grab any books…this week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, going to go pick up more while the price for them is still high too. I went a bit crazy on Amazon. Hell Divers was on sale, finally! And I devoured Rolling In The Deep and was lucky to get the ARC for the second book! Spotted a few more sales for books on my wish list too.

  5. It finally got cold here and I love it. I lived in the south for many years and I always missed winter.
Glad that you were able to still make some money from the pecans! Thats totally awesome!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I only miss winter during the week of Christmas. It took me a long time to get used to a green Christmas. LOL

  6. I am glad at least one kind of pecan can make you some Christmas money! I kringe everytime I say that word as it shouldn’t be so close…lol.

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep. been busy picking yesterday and heading out to grab more this morning. A funny thing. I finished some great books this week and I actually wrote some reviews in my head while picking the pecans. LOL And nerd that I am, I had pen and paper with me so I wrote them down. LOL There’s a lot of birthdays in my family in November and December. My brother is coming down to stay for the winter. And Thanksgiving is round the corner. Makes time fly and boom! Then it’s Christmas. Yikes!

  7. Good news about your pecans!

I grew up on a ranch that had almonds and walnuts, in addition to other produce. I remember hating the harvest season…LOL.

    Enjoy your books…many tempting possibilities.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  8. Yvonne says:

It doesn’t feel like November here. We’re in the 70’s, but they say it will start getting colder. All those books look so good. Enjoy them and have a great week!

  9. sjhigbee says:

*sigh* I wish our garden stayed green the year round! Though this autumn has been amazing, it is surely but steadily getting colder. I’m so pleased to hear about the pecans – it’s always nice to get an income stream at this time of the year:). Have a great week, Laura. • fuonlyknew says:

I have lots of plants and shrubbery that stay green year round and some that only dies off if it gets below freezing and stays there for a few days. That doesn’t happen often, thankfully:)

  10. That is so awesome about some of your pecans surviving! Really glad for you. Do you have like a very big amount of them that you grow? That’s pretty amazing 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I ave several trees on my property and then I pick on the empty lot across the street, splitting half the money with the owners.

  11. kozbisa says:

Great news about your pecans. That’s the universe wanting you to have Christmas cash. And I agree, the holidays are coming too quickly. I have purchased exactly two gifts. So, failing terribly this year.

  12. Glad to hear your pecan trees are doing well.

Enter the Drowning Deep sounds good. Hope you love it. I enjoyed her Newsflesh series. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

After a bit of a bad start, the pecans are doing good now. I’m enjoying her mermaid books and I’ll probably check out the Newsflesh ones too.

  13. katarguelles says:

It’s hard to believe we are on the second week of November. It’s great to hear you’ll be making money with the pecans. You just reminded me I need to get some to make dessert for Thanksgiving lol. Rolling in the Deep series sounds really good and it’s on my TBR. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. Time seems to be getting away from me this year! The pecans are yummy and I never get tired of them. The mermaid series is my kind of stories. I like em vicious. LOL

  14. Congrats on your pecans!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  15. Jan says:

Wow! In the 80’s and muggy is warm for November–at least here in the upper Midwest. I do wish we could grow pecans around here though as they are one of my favorites. So glad many of your pecans are okay.

I hope you have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s warmer than usual for this time of year. It’s supposed to be more normal mid week with a cool down to around low 70s. The pecans are delicious:)

  16. I think I need to plant some pecan trees! 🙂

  17. Good news about the pecans. I had to buy The Drowning Deep this week because I had the new one to review. I also went and grabbed a few of those freebies. We’ve had unseasonably warm weather this weekend as well – not that I’m complaining.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I bought the first book too. The most I’ve ever paid for a short story but worth it! I kind of went crazy of purchased books and freebies this week. LOL

  18. I’m glad some of your pecans are okay! Have a great week and enjoy your new books.

  19. I love pecan nuts! Actually I like most nuts but pecans are my favorite. Enjoy your new books!

  20. Greg says:

I need to reread Rolling in the Deep this week and then jump into the new one- I can’t wait! Give me all of the killer mermaids lol. I’m so hyped for that one it’s not even funny.

G;ad the pecans largely turned out okay, that’s great news. And the weather does sound nice- it’s cooling here now as usual in spite of a few last stubborn warm days. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just reread the first book too and now reading Into The Drowning Deep. The longer book is fleshing out the characters more and looking forward to some mermaid action any time now!

  21. Grace Rebele says:

Wow it is still warm there!!! Glad your pecans still making you money just in time for the holidays. Enjoy your new books and have great week!

  22. So glad your pecans aren’t a total bust! I’m a big fan of pecans. I put some in my cereal almost every morning. Yum!

Those Mira Grant books are both tempting and too creepy-scary for me. I wish that wasn’t true, but I don’t deal well with horror and creepiness. It crawls into my brain and sets up housekeeping, and keeps me awake or gives me nightmares. But I know that means I miss out on some really good books!

  23. Katherine P says:

I don’t think I realized there were different kinds of pecans! I love the trees though I’m horribly allergic to them (just the trees thankfully not the nuts!) so I haven’t planted any. It never would have occurred to me to sell the nuts but what a great way to make some extra Christmas money! We’re hanging out in the 70s here which I’m okay with. Like you it doesn’t really get cold until January and it’s usually not super cold. The Mira Grant books look intriguing! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

There are lots of different kinds. I can even tell which tree bears which nut by looking at their foliage and shapes. I’m starting to get a bit sick of them. Can only eat so any. LOL Mira’s mermaid books are awesome.

  24. Yay for the peacan Christmas stash! I still have to go and read up on the different kinds. I love that sort of thing. I almost bit on those Hell Diver books last week because a couple of other bloggers I follow loved them, but realistically I don’t have the time for them. I hope you are having a great week. 💜

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was thrilled to get the Hell Divers books for such a great price. Been waiting for them to go on sale. There’s a third one coming out too!

  25. Lola says:

Sounds like you’re enjoying the warmer weather where you live. And that’s nice you have a green yard most of the year. Your new books look good, i hope they’re good ones!
