Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

Well, the first week back at work was uneventful. As was anything else this week. I did read some good books and tuned in to the telly for some fun movies and shows. But it seems the weather is utmost on my mind. Crazy stuff this year. We had a nice warm up into the 70s. Then it started to get blustery and cold Friday. Dipped below freezing overnight and freezing winds out there now. It looks like most of next week will be freakish cold too. Please let spring come. Please! LOL

Ugh the cold- I’m so over it. Sorry to hear it’s cold down your way too. We have a few months left of it unfortunately. I need to move to FL for th winter lol.

Voodoo on the Bayou and The Mermaid’s Revenge both look fun! Extinct looks good also!

  2. It’s actually not so cold here yet, which is a miracle, but it snowed today 🙂

  3. sjhigbee says:

I was hoping that your cold spell would be easing up soon:(. Our weather is dank and raw, typical stuff really – I’m just hoping we don’t get snow. So sorry you are enduring such a miserable winter! https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2018/01/14/sunday-post-14th-january-2018/

  4. Extinct is already on my ereader I think. I tried Perrin Briar once and never again…the book had the worst MC I’ve ever read! It’s really cold here right now and snow is predicted again. I’ll just stay indoors!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was tempted to grab some of the freebies but I resisted. And I know how you feel about horrible MCs. I just DNF’d a book because of that. Never happened to me before.

  5. Agreed. I’m ready to exit this crazy winter we are having!

  6. I am so over the freezing temps. Spring needs to get here and soon. Enjoy those new books, and happy reading. 😃

  7. I am with you on spring, bring it on!! 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  8. karen blue says:

I wish we would warm up to the 70s. We did have a lot of rain with warmer than freezing temps, so it washed almost all the snow away. I already had forgotten what my backyard looked like. Now it is freezing again and we are expecting snow Tuesday evening. Ugh!
All of the freebies look good. I am on a one-click freebie ban, since I never seem to get to those books. It was tempting though.
Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s hard to believe everything was green here a week ago. Now a lot of my plants and stuff are brown. I long for green and sunshine:)

  9. I have a few of Demelza’s books but have not yet read them. Forgotten Time looks good. I hope the weather become more stable but I highly doubt it. I long for spring too!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I liked Demelza’s ocean series but haven’t tried this one yet. And I don’t expect the weather to behave either. LOL

  10. Seriously with the Freebies! lol I am about to go one-click. It got very cold here also this week should be a warm up like 30 and that is warm for me. 😀

I hope you have an amazing week, Laura! Happy Reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love a freebie but didn’t go crazy and grab all of these this time. LOL We’re going to warm up to the 50s for a couple of days and then back to frigid.

  11. We were at 60 degrees on Thursday. Friday, it snowed 3 inches. seriously, its crazy! You got some good looking books this week so at least you have a good reason to stay inside-those books are going to read themselves!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It is crazy. We had beautiful spring like weather and then old man winter paid us another visit and he’s hanging around all week!

  12. Daniela Ark says:

Welcome back! Yup the weather is absolutely crazy. YES SPRING, PLEEEEASE Wow you got really nice cover and titles on your freebie haul! Thanks for sharing them!

  13. I know what you mean about the weather and add me to the list of people who want Spring NOW! I grabbed The Mermaid’s Revenge because I like my mermaids on the nastier side and this seems to fit the mode. I also couldn’t resist adding Hunger. I mean, come on, the cover alone is great.

    Have a wonderful week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Hunger does have a wicked cover. I grabbed the mermaid book too and just finished it. I found how the mermaid was portrayed very unique. Parts of the book reminded of the movie SHE. That was one wicked mermaid movie.

  14. Yvonne says:

It seems like we’re all going through strange weather this year. Ours goes up and down from 60’s to single digits.

Your books all look great. Enjoy them! Have a great week!

  15. Lots of awesome books you got here! I hate it when the weather goes up and down! Let’s hope spring comes soon!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think that’s what gets me the most. We get some spring like weather and then we freeze. Very unusual for here.

  16. Our weather has dipped back down, too. It’s alright as long as there’s no wind or rain. It rained overnight a few days last week. I’m down with spring weather! Good 70s weather would be nice. Happy reading!

  17. Things warmed up here during the week, too. But a cold front blew through on Friday night and dropped us back below freezing. I wouldn’t mind if only it would snow! We’re due for a few flurries on Wednesday, but that’s all.

You always find such interesting freebies! I’d be tempted, but… well, let’s just say that I visited NetGalley this week and exercised less self-control than I should have. 😉

  18. It was warm today, but it’s going to snow tomorrow. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It wasn’t too bad today as there was no wind. But that’s supposed to change around Wednesday and we’ll be freezing!

  19. The weather has been really strange! I’m in Southern California so it was almost 80 degrees today, but last week we had the rains and horrible mud slides in the burn areas. The wildfires really killed us over here! Hope you stay warm! Fallen looks like an interesting read! Enjoy your books! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I watched the news about the mudslides. Glad you weren’t in that area. We’ll be down in the 20s Tuesday night. It’s just the craziest winter I can remember.

  20. I spy a puppy on the Burke book! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

I am so done with winter. Too bad it’s not done with me. We’re supposed to get another 6″ of snow on Wednesday. Ugh, enough already!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I knew you’d spot the pooch! LOL I miss my flip flops and shorts so bad! We aren’t working Wednesday as it’s only going to get a bit above freezing and I work outside. I’ve had it with winter!

  21. everyfreechance says:

Uneventful weeks are sometimes the best! I hope this week goes well, too! Stay warm. =)

  22. Heidi says:

All of you folks on the East side of the country have had a heck of a winter. We are skating by with a mild winter here in Oregon, which I will gladly take after the last two. Yeah! Happy to see Ellie Jordan up there. Love that series.

    • fuonlyknew says:

The weather patterns are so strange this year. I can’t remember the last time it got this cold and lasted this long. I just finished the newest Ellie Jordan, The Tower, and still loving the series. There are going to be more too!

  23. We are in the single digits today. I’m not a fan. An uneventful week is often good and needed. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m so over this and spent last night without power for several hours. We’re finally going to warm up on Friday and I can’t wait!

  24. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

Uneventful weeks aren’t all bad. Sometimes that’s nice. lol. Hope this week is nice and relaxing for you.

  25. herding cats says:

Some nice looking reads! Glad work was uneventful. I hear ya on the weather. 2 degrees, 71 degrees, 8 inches of snow in less than 2 weeks time. lol
