Welcome to The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice.
This is a really fun meme!
The only rules are to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader and find a sentence or a few (no spoilers) that grabs you and post it.
Then go over to Freda’s Voice and leave your link so we can visit your 56!
My 56 for this week is from:
One Perfect Kiss
A Hope Novel
by Jaci Burton
Genre: Romance
From page 56 in the paperback.
Josie thought animals brought love and happiness to everyone who was owned by a cat or a dog or a bunny or turtle or snake or …. whatever. But she also knew that not everyone was a pet person, so she had to remind herself not to be pushy about it.
Still, it would be interesting to see how reacted at Emma’s clinic tomorrow.
She couldn’t wait.
This was a cute scene. Josie is going to adopt a dog and hopes that Zach will find a four legged companion there also.

Synopsis
The New York Times bestselling author of Love Me Again returns to the town of Hope, Oklahoma where school is in session and love rules the playbook.
Josie Barnes has always craved a sense of home. She’s found that in Hope, Oklahoma–she bought a house, has a new job as an English teacher at Hope High, she’s made wonderful friends, and she’s taking in stray animals that no one else wants. Now she’s flirting with fellow teacher and hot high school football coach Zach Powers. But he’s almost too good to be true, and Josie learned long ago not to trust in the too-good-to-be-true, because it has always let her down.
A former pro football player, Zach had to pull back when a career-ending knee injury forced him to rethink his future. Now he’s happy calling plays as Coach. If he could just get Josie Barnes to stop benching his players for their poor grades, life would be perfect. Instead, she drives him crazy as the stern teacher at school and the sexy woman of his dreams outside of the classroom. He knows she’s been hurt in the past, but he wants to be that guy she can trust.
The one thing Josie has never been able to count on is the people closest to her. But Zach intends to show her that what they have between them is a textbook case of love.

I haven’t got to this scene yet and didn’t cheat and keep reading, so I’m curious too.
This one looks like the perfect book to mix in between thrillers and dark mysteries. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “NINE PERFECT STRANGERS”
It sure does and I’ve been reading a ton of those other genres. LOL
I’m curious for more!! Happy weekend!
So am I and back at ya, Freda!
This seems such a cute book Laura!
I’m enjoying the characters and the story so far!
This sounds so good. I have liked everything I’ve read by the author but haven’t gotten to this one yet. This week I am spotlighting Those Who Go By Night by Andrew Gaddes – a medieval mystery from my review stack. Happy reading!
I have a feeling I’ll be reading more by this author after I finish this one:)
Hope you enjoy it.
