This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~~~~~
Some chit chat.
The hazy, lazy days of summer are in full swing at my house. I’ve still been neglecting yard and house work and lolling in the pool every chance I get. Not feeling one bit guilty about that either. LOL
I am feeling just a wee bit guilty about my book buying binge. I grabbed a bunch this week. A couple of them were free though. I figure that goes in my being frugal category.
Well, the sun is getting low in the sky and I have time for one more dip in the pool. I love to get in right before sunset and watch as the lights from the house shine out as the dark encroaches. It looks so inviting.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
  1. Lelia T says:
    I’m almost as addicted to the pool as you are ;-))
  2. My dad is frantically killing weeds so I can get started on the first coat of varnish to our side of the back fence. I just want to get out and get it done as we have a lot still to do!
  3. Berls says:
    Sounds absolutely wonderful! When I lived at home and had access to a private pool I was in it all the time, especially with thr sunset – I couldn’t agree more about it being the perfect time. I have hit our apartment pool a few times, but it stays pretty busy with lots of kids and just isn’t super appealing.
    Have a great week!
  4. kozbisa says:
    You should NOT feel guilty about buying book, and free books don’t count. (I thought you knew that). Enjoy your lazy days, and stay cool.
  5. Tammy says:
    Tentacles and Teeth sounds good! I wish I had a pool😁
  6. sjhigbee says:
    After all the hard work you put in during the winter and spring, I reckon you’re owed hours and hours of guilt-free lolling by the pool:).
    Thank you for featuring the freebies – I’ve scooped up a copy of Lodestar, now we’re scraping up the money for a new roof, money for new books is going to be scarce! Have another lovely poolside week:)).
    • fuonlyknew says:
      And I enjoy every free moment of relaxation! Thanks, Sarah:) I have to buy new glasses and they aren’t cheap so I will be cutting back on the book buying thing myself.
  7. Glad you are enjoying some relaxation time!! You have been working your tail off!
  8. Beware Of The Reader says:
    Well Laura summer is made to be lazy!!! And don’t tell me about buying books and feeling guilty! I am officially beginning a book ban till YALC end of July as I bought way too many books!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I went a bit wild with the book buying. This isn’t even all of the ones I bought. Some haven’t arrived yet. LOL
  9. I never feel guilty about skipping housework 🙂
    Have a great reading and swimming week,
  10. ooh The Awakening catches my eye! Actually just managed to download three freebies, thanks! Ooh pool life sounds gorgeous… sounds like you deserve the rest when you’ve been so busy! xx
    Here is my Sunday wrap up post.
    Happy Sunday!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Enjoy those freebies. The pool is so refreshing. I like to enjoy it early in the morning and later in the afternoon when the sun isn’t so brutal.
  11. Tanya Atkinson says:
    I love an evening dip in the pool when the worst of the heat is over and the sun isn’t beating down. So much more enjoyable that way. I bet the Elon Musk book will be super interesting!
  12. Some of those books look really interesting but I am not checking out things much this week. Elon Musk is a fascinating choice. My brother has a Tesla and has talked to him on the phone a few times. My brother also writes articles for Clean Technica as a hobby.
    Have a great week and stay cool!
  13. Stormi D Johnson says:
    We had one or two kind of summer like days and then bam last night and today it has rained! We turned around because we were afraid of getting caught in flood water and I have seen the pictures so even though I missed church I am glad we didn’t give it a try or we could have been blocked out of getting home to the fur babies! I am sick and tired of rain! 4 1/2 inches in just a night and today! 🙁
    You got some great looking books! Enjoy!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      That;s a lot of rain, Stormi. I think you did the right thing turning around and I’m glad you made it safely.
  14. Greg says:
    Watching the house lights from the pool sounds pretty awesome. 🙂 One of the joys of summer, right?
    I’m so glad summer is finally here. It’s in the low 80’s today and I think that’s the first time it’s been this warm in June yet- it’s been a slow start to summer around here.
    Panic at the Pier looks fun. 🙂
  15. I included The Rostikov Legacy on my post this week too! Stoked to see it around. I’m excited to read it, honestly.
    Have a good week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      That’s one of the freebies I grabbed. I try not to snatch up all of the ones I share. I’d never get to them all. LOL
  16. The don’t call them lazy summers for no reason! Enjoy it. I’d love to have a pool and weather which made me want to be in it! Over here… Well. It can get hot but never hot enough (or regular enough) to make a pool worth it so pools are not a thing. 🙁
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I probably wouldn’t go outside my house if the pool wasn’t there. It was so hot today and humid that I felt like I was under water.
  17. Sherry Fundin says:
    Cy Wyss’ cover is fabulous. I also love the look of Tentacles and Teeth. Hope it’s as good as it looks. I refrained from grabbing any freebies…this time lol
  18. You definitely shouldn’t feel guilty about pool time! Sounds absolutely perfect. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
  19. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:
    Elon Musk is an interesting character! It’s hard to want to get anything done when it’s hot. Happy lounging!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m really curious to read about him. And it is so hot and humid here I just want to stay in the AC. LOL
  20. I had to grab Tentacles and Teeth too – I mean, I couldn’t pass up that cover. I say enjoy your summer – the work will always been there right?
  21. Lori says:
    I do love a great book with a puppy on the cover! You have lots of great titles here. I hope that you enjoy these.
  22. You do right to enjoy the sun and pool during the hot summer days – housework and yard work can wait for another day. Hope you enjoy all of your new books 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      The chores are a bit daunting as I’ve let things go. I’m having someone come in to help with trimming and such in the yard. I’ll watch from the pool. LOL
  23. It’s been really hot here too lately. Like way too hot for our typical climate. And we don’t have AC because we’re a cold country. Ughhh. No pools either..
    I hope you wear sunscreen though!
    As for sales, I bought one today, I think it was called Packing for Mars, and it’s a nonfiction about space oddity and basically how uncomfortable space is, and it’s funny. Instant grab. Been waiting for that one to go on sale for ages!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It’s hot early this year and that worries me as the warmer the gulf waters get, the bigger the hurricanes if they come here. Been a long time since we’ve had one and crossing fingers and toes we won’t this year too! That book does sound fun!
