This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

I can see fall coming. The pecans are growing fat on the trees, the leaves are starting to fall and the sun is sitting lower in the sky. It’s still in the 90s here but the humidity is much lower. I can sit outside in the shade and enjoy a good book. Or two. or……….LOL

I was going through my fall and Halloween decorations and noticed I needed to replace a few things that had gotten a bit tattered. Was out shopping and guess what I came across. Christmas decorations! Yep, they are already putting some out! Seems they do this earlier and earlier every year.

Are you ready? The year is winding down and it’s all busy, busy, busy until Christmas arrives.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. Greg says:

Noooo… not Christmas decorations lol. I love christmas but it’s way too early.

    Figures though 🙂

Road To Nowhere looks cute. “Murder Most Meow” haha.

  2. Jackie says:

I am getting ready for October and did you see the moon last week? How orange and big and beautiful it was!? I think the harvest moon is on Sept. 24th this year

  3. Sumedha says:

Wow those are quite a few new books! I hope you have a great reading week ahead 🙂

  4. sjhigbee says:

Oh yes – autumn is definitely knocking on the door here, too. Berries are dripping off the bushes everywhere – I don’t recall ever seeing so many hips and haws! I’m hoping for a good crop of hazelnuts from my tree. And this last week has been amazing, so mild and sunny:)) But we’re talking 60s, not 90s! Have a great week, Laura:)

    • fuonlyknew says:

My pecan trees are getting heavy with pecans. Sadly, many are dropping too early because we need rain. Might not be a good crop this year. I hope we get some rain and I can enjoy some yummy pecans:)

  5. For me, autumn and winter is nice and relaxing! I don’t celebrate any of the holidays so I don’t have anything to prepare for! I’ve spent the last two weeks getting the cupboard stocked for winter with all my tins and pasta and stuff, so that is out of the way. Next month I’ll get the freezer restocked as well, then towards the end of November stock the fridge and that will do me until winter ends and I can avoid people with winter viral infections! I’m enjoying the cooler temperatures too!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I don’t celebrate big but I do enjoy getting together with family. My new work schedule might make that hard this year. And I just recovered from the flu and a summer cold. I hope that’s it for me for a long time!

  6. Stormi D Johnson says:

It’s raining here but still feels more like summer which I am fine with…lol. I like fall but I know it leads to winter. 🙁 Christmas is always out early and nobody cares about Thanksgiving anymore which is sad. 🙁

Great bunch of books hope you enjoy them!
    Stormi

  7. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

I am eagerly waiting for fall too, or at least for the summer to completely recede. But it is definitely too early for Christmas. I am guessing another week to get away from the scorching heat.

  8. Tammy says:

Looks like you have lots of spooky reads coming up. I can’t believe it’s almost october!

  9. kozbisa says:

Fall keeps coming and going in these parts. It was in the 50s last night, but will be almost 90 today. Bipolar weather is not my favorite thing, but I guess it could be worse. You have pecan trees? That’s awesome. I like pecans and pecan pie. Yum! Happy decorating!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Bipolar weather. That made me snort. LOL We are having cooler nights. not as low as you but cooler than the 80s we had been having. I do have pecan trees. They are dropping now before they’re ripe. If we don’t get some rain soon, it will ruin the crop.

  10. I can see Fall coming, too. I’m little surprised by how much the leaves are falling with it still being so hot, but it’s kind of nice to see.

    • fuonlyknew says:

My back patio is covered with leaves. LOL The pecans are falling too and they aren’t ripe yet. The drought is going to wreak havoc on them if we don’t see some major rain soon.

  11. i keep looking at road to nowhere…wanting to review it too, but haven’t signed up yet. such a simple, yet effective cover

  12. Beware Of The Reader says:

OMG Laura Christmas already?? I know that in London they put them early but before Halloween that seems too early!

  13. Molly's Book Nook says:

I am SO NOT READY for the end of the year. Not only is it just a hectic time, my baby is also due in December. I feel so ill-prepared lol

  14. I’m so ready for October-December! Those are the best months of the year!!!!

  15. It looks like you’ve got some creepy/scary books this week! I hope you enjoy reading them all. 🙂

  16. I have to admit I am not even vaguely prepared for Christmas.

    Have a great reading week

  17. yvonne473 says:

It’s definitely starting to feel like Fall, although summer has been trying to sneak back in too 🙂 I hope you enjoy your books. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s still very hot and I’m enjoying the pool while it lasts. Nice to be able to sit outside in the shade and read without melting from the humidity. LOL

  18. Liliana says:

Christmas decorations?!?! Come on, it’s the first week of Fall! 😂 That reminds me, I need to go do some Halloween decoration shopping too!

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

For real. They are already putting it out! I’m now going through my fall and Halloween decorations to decide how to do it this year.

  19. Yes I can’t believe it is still 85-90 this week. But the humidity does seem a bit less. No Christmas decorations until after Halloween please. I hope you are getting some time for yourself to read and relax! Have a lovely week.

Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post

    • fuonlyknew says:

They moved Halloween stuff to a smaller space and are putting out all the Christmas stuff. I had to hunt for pool supplies!

  20. We went to get cushions for the chairs on our new patio this week and found that they were clearanced down to $5 for that day because they wanted to get rid of them all. Why? Because they’d replaced the “summer” section with Christmas! So crazy!!

  21. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

It’s been in the 90s here too, but like you I feel Fall in the air. Shorter days means it cools off quicker. It does seem like they start all the Christmas stuff earlier and earlier! I’m reading a Christmas ARC right now! Happy reading, Laura! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have some Christmas books lined up. Just need to finsih my Halloween reviews so I can start on them. Never too early:)

  22. I grabbed Selective Spells as well as its sequel too this week. You’ve got some really spooky looking books here. It’s been so dry here – we really need rain. At this rate, it’s not going to take long for the leaves to fall off!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I couldn’t resist Selective Spells. I think I’ll go ahead and grab the first books too. It is so dry here. I’ve had to add water to the pool!

  23. The leaves are starting to fall here but I’m not entirely sure it’s not because it’s just so dry. I’m hoping we start seeing some signs of fall – okay well mostly just not so hot! So many great books! I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think part of the reason the leaves are falling here is because of the drought too. We are so dry and really need rain.

  24. Carole says:

I am not sure that I am ready to think about Halloween yet much less Christmas! I know that it is fall but it still feels like summer to me. I hope you have a great week, Laura!

  25. You have put me in the fall spirit! I am dying to taste those pecans!!

I hope that you love all of those new books. 🙂
