This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

We had our first named tropical storm come through last Sunday. The eye was on New Orleans but the wind and rain were on the east side of the storm, which meant we got a lot  of it. It got kind of creepy that night. Howling winds and I could hear branches snapping. No real damage though and it brought a cool front that gave us sunny skies and low humidity. Other than that the week was pretty much uneventful. Went to work. Came home. Fell asleep trying to read. Repeat. LOL

Stay safe and take care everyone.

    Awfully glad you’re ok!

  2. Greg says:

Glad the storm didn’t bring too much damage! We had some heavy wind through here too although not quite that level. Lots of branches down and stuff. And it was beautiful here today! Just shy of 70, sunny…

Hope you have a good weekend. Your books look fun. Looks like a few spooky ones. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Why do they always come at night! LOL It’s especially scary when you can’t see what’s happening.

  3. Tammy says:

As someone who rarely gets to experience storms, can I say I’m a little jealous? I know they can be awful, but I’d like a small one with rain, thunder and lightning 😁

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do enjoy rainy days. We’re a tropical climate here so we usually get some storms that pass through quickly every afternoon due to the heat build up.

  4. limabean74 says:

Glad you didn’t have any damage from the storm. I do love a good storm without damage. We had some rain and it has cooled down a lot but it will get hotter this week. I can’t wait for Fall. lol 🙂

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading! xx

  5. It’s a good thing the storm wasn’t too bad. I am also loving the cooler temps and lower humidity the current north wind has brought. After today though, it’s 5 days of rain but at lease I won’t have to water any new plants / grass for a few days.

    Happy reading and stay well!

  6. Sam@WLABB says:

Glad to hear you made it out ok from the first storm. I hope it’s a quiet season. There is just too much damage in the country right now. It would be nice, if we could keep the natural disasters to a minimum.

  7. Glad the storm didn’t leave damage in its wake! Maybe this will be an indicator that the season will be mild. Fingers crossed!

  8. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

Well I am glad that you are safe Laura! We never have these really huge storms or hurricane that hit the US coast so that must be really scary!

  9. We had heavy winds and cooler than normal weather here in Montreal. I want summer because before we know it it will be over! I read in bed too. It’s my way of trying to fall asleep. Enjoy your new books!

  10. Stormi D Johnson says:

Glad the storm wasn’t to bad and didn’t do to much damage. It’s been a bit hot here and seems like it might be that way for a bit. 🙂 Makes me wish I had your pool…lol.

  11. yvonne473 says:

Glad you didn’t have much damage. The last thing any of needs are bad storms. Have a great week.

  12. Liliana says:

Oh man, that does sound spooky! Glad you’re doing good though!

    Happy reading!

  13. I’m certainly glad that you didn’t get the worst of the storm. I’d be a nervous wreck right through storm season. I hate the ones we get and they are nowhere near as bad as you guys get.

  14. sjhigbee says:

Relieved to hear that your first tropical storm passed through without causing too much damage – let’s hope the others follow its example and remain reasonable… And glad the weather has been a big cooler and fresher. I hope the coming week is a good one, Laura.

  15. glad that storm blew through so quicky. they felt it in michigan too

    sherry @ fundinmental

  16. Oh Death is in the Details looks creeptastic! I loved the Beechwood Manor series and hope you do.

  17. Glad you stayed safe and had no damage. I hate storm season. We had a Derachio (sp) a few years back and it terrified me. You have some great looking books to get you through the summer!

  18. Katherine says:

Glad you stayed safe with no damage! We were debating making a move to the Mississippi Coast and had looked at a house which was right on the water. I’m kind of glad we decided to stay where we are at the moment! Hope you’re having a great week!
