My Teaser from page 80 in the paperback.

2. I’ve never seen or heard of anyone who lasted longer than three hours. Max.

Read on if you want to know more.

Synopsis

.27 IS A NUMBER RUBY HATES.

It’s a number that marks the percentage of the population that survived. It’s a number that means she’s one of the “lucky” few still standing . And it’s a number that says her father is probably dead.

Against all odds, Ruby has survived the catastrophic onset of the killer rain. Two weeks after the radio started broadcasting the warning “It’s in the rain. It’s fatal, it’s contagious, and there’s no cure,” the drinkable water is running out. Ruby’s left with two options: persevere on her own, or embark on a treacherous journey across the country to find her father–If he’s even still alive.

My Tease for this week is from

Don’t Try To Find Me

by Holly Brown

18698861

goodreads-badge-add-plus

My Teaser from page 48 and page 74 in the Paperback.

From Page 48

This could blow up in Paul’s face. And in mine, and Marley’s, too. He has no idea what I’ve been keeping private.

From Page 74

Then why. I wanted to ask, do I sometimes feel like I don’t know you at all, now that we’re finally in the same room?

~~~~
Synopsis
When a 14-year-old runs away, her parents turn to social media to find her-launching a public campaign that will expose their darkest secrets and change their family forever, in this suspenseful and gripping debut for fans of Reconstructing Amelia and Gone Girl
Don’t try to find me. Though the message on the kitchen white board is written in Marley’s hand, her mother Rachel knows there has to be some other explanation. Marley would never run away.
As the days pass and it sinks in that the impossible has occurred, Rachel and her husband Paul are informed that the police have “limited resources.” If they want their 14-year-old daughter back, they will have to find her themselves. Desperation becomes determination when Paul turns to Facebook and Twitter, and launches FindMarley.com.
But Marley isn’t the only one with secrets.
With public exposure comes scrutiny, and when Rachel blows a television interview, the dirty speculation begins. Now, the blogosphere is convinced Rachel is hiding something. It’s not what they think; Rachel would never hurt Marley. Not intentionally, anyway. But when it’s discovered that she’s lied, even to the police, the devoted mother becomes a suspect in Marley’s disappearance.
Is Marley out there somewhere, watching it all happen, or is the truth something far worse?
Chasing The Green Fairy
The Airship Racing Chronicles #2
by Melanie Karsak
20512114
c8df8-add2bto2bgoodreads2bblack
My 56
Was this really the man who had scandalized all of Britain with his wild ways? His reputation suggested that he might look to me for an in-kind thanks for his services, but his eyes told me a different story.
~~~

Synopsis

A sabotaged airship.

A recovering opium addict.

A messenger with life-shattering news.

With the 1824 British airship qualifying race only weeks away, Lily Stargazer is at the top of her game. She’s racing like a pro, truly in love, and living clean. But on one ill-omened day, everything changes.

Pulled head-long into the ancient secrets of the realm, Lily soon finds herself embroiled in Celtic mysteries and fairy lore. And she’s not quite sure how she got there, or even if she wants to be involved. But Lily soon finds herself chasing the spirit of the realm while putting her own ghosts to rest. And only accepting the truth–about her heart and her country–can save her.

*Due to steamy scenes and depictions of drug use, this novel is intended for mature readers.

Jill Kismet

The Complete Series: Books One thru Six

by Lilith Saintcrow

jill kismet series 002

c8df8-add2bto2bgoodreads2bblack

My 56 is a bit different this time as this is six books in one. I’ll be choosing a page with the number 56 from each book.

Page 56 Night Shift

“Don’t say a word,” he groaned, leaning back in his chair. “Not one f#!king word, Kiss. I’m warning you.”

Page 356 Hunter’s Prayer

The doorbell rang, but I ignored it. Anyone knocking at my door would either come in and get shot or go away.

Page 556 Redemption Alley

Even among normal humans with no scent of the nightside, there are killers.

Page 856 Flesh Circus

“If she keeps killing Cirque performers there’s going to be trouble.

Page 1056 Heaven’s Spite

He was making a slight crooning sound, too, like a child trying to entice a reluctant dog.

A nasty, sociopathic little child.

Page 1256 Angel Town

“I remember what I did now,” I whispered. ” I damned myself. Didn’t I.”

~~~
Synopsis
Not everyone can take on the things that go bump in the night.
Not everyone tries.
But Jill Kismet is not just anyone.
She’s a Hunter, trained by the best — and in over her head.
Welcome to the night shift…
The omnibus edition of Jill Kismet contains: Night Shift, Hunter’s Prayer, Redemption Alley, Flesh Circus, Heaven’s Spite and Angel Town.
~~~

I couldn’t believe my luck when I spotted this on a shelf at my favorite used book store. I’ve read the first book, Night Shift, and loved Kiss. She’s kick ass. And now I have the complete series in one ginormous book. I wonder how much it weighs?LOL There are 1364 pages and a glossary too. It’s over two and a half inches thick. And I just went and weighed it. It’s over two and a half pounds.

My Tease for this week is from

Dependent

by Brenda Corey Dunne

18755012

c8df8-add2bto2bgoodreads2bblack

My Tease

 My groggy thoughts are interrupted by a slow, methodical click barely audible at first, and then louder. Click. Click. Click.

 I realize the sound is footsteps, and the footsteps are in the hallway. Click. Click.

 My breath catches in my throat. I’m naked, in John’s room illegally, and the footsteps are coming closer. Surely they will continue on down the hallway, and I pray they do as there is nowhere to go in this miniscule room if they don’t.

 Click. Click. Click.

~~~
Synopsis
When 45-year-old Ellen Michaels loses her husband to a tragic military accident, she is left in a world of gray. For 25 years her life has been dictated by the ubiquitous They—the military establishment that has included her like chattel with John’s worldly goods—his Dependents, Furniture, and Effects. They—who have stolen her hopes, her dreams and her innocence, and now in mere months will take away the roof over her head. Ellen is left with nothing to hold on to but memories and guilt and an awful secret that has held her in its grip since she was 19. John’s untimely death takes away her anchor, and now, without the military, there is no one to tell her where to go, what to do— no one to dictate who she is. Dependent deals with issues ever-present in today’s service families—early marriage, frequent long absences, the culture of rank, and posttraumatic stress, as well as harassment and abuse of power by higher-ranking officials. It presents a raw and realistic view of life for the lives of the invisible support behind the uniform.
My tease is from
Rehab Is For Witches
by Multiple Authors
23480947
c8df8-add2bto2bgoodreads2bblack
There were so many good teasers in this book I couldn’t choose which one to use.
So I’m going to give you this from the very beginning.  I am having so much fun and having a lot of laugh out loud moments.
So here is my tease:
A hint about this book…
This book doesn’t stick to time as though it was Velcro. It moves in the same direction, but it flits back and forth, because this is a journey of six witches aiming to get through magical rehab. So it’ll follow all of them on their journeys…and then the journey they take together.
So, sometimes you’ll go back, and sometimes you’ll go forward. We guess that’s just the nature of magic. You’ll get the hang of it.
We’d also like to note that in the making of this book there were many jokes about names for spells, giggling, epic bouts of brainstorming, and that one brilliant joke about the Kracken…er…well, you’ll see. So we hope you enjoy this book, and we take no responsibility for the swearing, giggles, romance, or unadulterated drama you’ll find. Just don’t drink anything for a few pages. Nobody likes coffee snorted all over a clean table.
~~~

I was given this ARC to review for an upcoming tour. I don’t know what might have been changed since I read this. Hopefully they left this beginning in. It does a great job of preparing you for the fun inside.

Keep an eye out for my review on December 3rd.

~~~
Synopsis
Welcome to Little Raven: an unsullied, beautiful woodland hamlet in the heart of the Midwest. The sort of place where furry creatures romp about and spend their days bursting into song.
Actually, that’s a giant pack of lies.
Little Raven is a town…for witches.
And some of those witches might have bent the rules. A teensy bit. When six magical miscreants dabble with black magic, they end up together at Incantations, the town’s rehab center for witches gone awry. It’s a slap on the wrist for naughty witches. Pretty much a daycare center so they don’t wander off and start turning people into newts on a whim. Each witch must work through her addiction to black magic, and follow the tenets designed to lead them back to the path of the straight and narrow, as boring as that sounds. Even if following the tenets sucks worse than a group round of kum-bay-ya. Which sucks. Horribly.
We will admit we are powerless over magic—that our lives have become unmanageable.
We will make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of the Goddess as we understand Her.
We will make a searching and fearless moral and magical inventory of ourselves.
We will admit to the Goddess, to ourselves, and to another being the exact nature of our magical wrongs.
We will make a list of all persons or beings we have harmed, and become willing to make amends to them all.
We will make direct amends to such beings whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
We are entirely ready to bow before the Goddess and have Her remove all our defect of character, even at the risk of being entirely stripped of our magic.
But this is just the start. There’s something rotten in Little Raven, something that seeks to take all the magic it can, and devour the inhabitants in the process. It will take the strength and power of all the witches to defeat the darkness seeping into their town, beat it back, and be rid of it forever…and maybe just make it through rehab while they’re saving the world.
I’m back. Those of you who follow my blog probably noticed that WordPress shut me down. I was guilty of violating their Terms Of Service. I admit, I was. But still not too sure what all I did wrong. They don’t go into detail, so I suspect it’s like a form letter they send out when they shut you down.
So, now I’m self-hosted and free to do as I please, at some cost.It was worth it to be able to transfer all of my content. I was horrified when I was shut down. All those lovely posts and reviews, gone! But, I have them back and now I’m looking forward to sharing more with ya’ll. Still trying to figure out how to change to Leave a reply thingie at the bottom. Is it odd for you to comment and does anyone know how I can personalize it? I’ve searched everywhere in my dashboard and can’t find a way to change it.
Last Sunday Post I mentioned rearranging my living room and now having no place for my Christmas tree. I took Katherine’s and Trisha’s advice and moved some things into the guest room and now have the perfect spot! But first, I had to get the new bed for my sons room out of there, so I finally finished his room and everything looks good.
I had a huge dilemma at the grocery store. They were out of my favorite tea, Twinings Irish Breakfast and also the English Breakfast Tea I fall back on. So, I bought some Earl Gray and it tastes odd. There’s a lingering aftertaste, spicy and heavy that I can’t figure out. Not liking it much but since I spent the money on it, I’ll probably drink it.
My oldest brother and my mother came down from Michigan last week and they brought that winter vortex with them. We had some frigid days here on the Gulf Coast and it brought back memories of the ice age we experienced last year. LOL Now it’s blustery and cloudy and humid as hell. Around the 70’s and sticky! Funny how quickly the weather shifts near the water.
I hope you all had a great week and lets get to some of what I’ve been doing book wise. Not as much as I couldn’t post, but I did a lot of reading.
Wow, did this week fly by or what?! Seems like I just did one of these posts.
Not a whole lot happened this week. I read some more books, got some new ones, and watched a lot of scary movies and shows.
What did you guys think of The Walking Dead? Did you cry when Rick saw Judith? I did! This is going to be such a killer season.
The weather is awesome. In the low 80s and drops to mid 60s at night. Perfect for me. I don’t miss those hot, humid nights. Still warm enough for swimming and I’ve spent a lot of time outside, reading and just enjoying the pool. Got to get my time in before it turns too cool.
Got some great news. My oldest brother, who lives in Michigan, is renting a motorhome and coming down in November for a spell. My mom is coming with him! Going to have some fun then.
Well, my life hasn’t been exactly exciting lately, so not much more to talk about.
Except that something is wiggy with my computer. Have to take it to my guru so he can get rid of those pesky gremlins. They are causing so much havoc.
 I apologize if I don’t stop by for your Sunday Posts. I don’t how much longer I can use this thing before it locks up.
I finished my Halloween decorating. Didn’t use everything for outdoors. I mostly just did some decorating of the front porch. I don’t get any trick-or-treaters this far out from town but you can see my stuff from the road.
The weathers back up in the high 80s so I’ve been doing some reading by the pool and taking a few dips now and then. I dread when it gets too cold to swim. Last year our winter was harsh. We had freezing rain that closed down everything for a couple of days. My plants were covered in sheets of ice, lost a bunch of them. And I had to chip my way into my car. It was completely encased in ice. I sure hope it isn’t that bad this year.
I’ve been watching Survivor. This year is a strange one. I don’t like any of the players and can’t seem to get into it. Anybody watching it?
And I’ve been feasting on a bunch of horror flicks. Caught a couple on Syfy and Chiller and then some on Netflix. I also pulled out some treasured DVDs.
And it’s official. I was in Walmart and they were putting out the Christmas stuff. We don’t even have winter clothes on the racks yet, but you can get all kinds of pretty Christmas baubles. I don’t buy much anymore. Have so much already. But I do wait until the after sales and buy a few things. It’s fun to get out my decorations and discover those little jewels I forgot I bought!
Now let’s get to my book haul and news!
