Welcome to The Kid’s Korner!

I have a couple of fun children’s books to share today. It’s funny that both of these are Christmas books and the wacky weather here is in the 80s!

My Review

Such a cute story. Jolly the Jingrel tries really hard to get presents for his family, but every time he spots something good, his sibling grabs it first. By Christmas Eve, he’s still not found anything for his mother and all he has left is a silver crayon.

I am the youngest of six kids and know just how Jolly feels. Sibling rivalry is tough. LOL Wait until you see what Jolly does with that silver crayon. It’s precious.

I love Christmas and read holiday books year round. You and your little ones will be cheering Jolly on and smiling at all of the fun illustrations.

Synopsis

Jolly the Jingrel wants to find the best Christmas present for his mom. However, after collecting from the humans, Jolly’s siblings take all of the good stuff for themselves and Jolly is left with nothing but an old silver crayon. Will Jolly find the perfect gift for his mom? Or maybe, just maybe, will he learn what the holiday is really all about?

The 12th book in the ‘Monsters A to Z’ series shows that sometimes the best gifts are the simplest ones of all.

A Bear Of A Christmas

 by A.J. Cosmos

My Review

Bo-Bo the bear cub asks his mother why Santa doesn’t visit bears at Christmas. His mom tells him a tale about a little boy and a very disobedient bear. Now Bo-Bo wants to tell Santa that one bad apple shouldn’t ruin Christmas for all of them.

I liked how momma bear guided Bo-Bo when he decided to do something about Santa. Changing the things you can is a big part of life.

There’s lots of bright, fun illustrations throughout and a life lesson cleverly told. A good one to read with your little ones or for them to read to you.

Warning: You might have to rush out and buy a stuffed Teddy Bear as soon as your youngsters finish this book.

My Review

This story is so cute. I love unicorns and each page has beautiful, enchanting illustrations of the little unicorn and it’s mother. I loved it and even read it twice.

It’s a charming story about a little unicorn that’s impatient to grow up and get it’s horn. The mother urges her young one to cherish each day and not be in such a hurry.

An adorable, magical picture book to share with your little ones.

My Review

Another sweet story from the Monsters A To Z series.

Dax is a river monster who comes across Lily, a drowning little girl. Against his  parents warnings to avoid humans, he dives in and rescues her. They become unlikely friends and soon it’s Lily’s turn to rescue Dax.

My favorite part of the story is when Dax tries to hide in the river. All you can see is his big round eyes. So cute.

A delightful story for early readers with some cute illustrations and lessons in friendship and knowing when to stand up for yourself.

Rosie and Friends

My Review

Rosalie and Friends is a story about celebrating your differences.

Rosie is a pink hippo. We all know hippos are grey. So does Rosie. Instead of burying her head in the sand, she let’s herself shine. She’s Positively Different.

With big, colorful illustrations and lots of uniquely different characters, Rosie shows her friends that being different isn’t a bad thing. It’s all in how you see yourself.

Sure to delight your children, it also encourages them to be themselves and boosts their self-confidence.

We could all learn from this.

I like when a book is fun and you don’t even notice that you’re learning. Very clever.

My Review

Rosalie and Truffle is a story of love.

Rosalie dreams of love. She thinks she’s found it, but her family and friends think she needs to look further.

Truffle and Rosalie is a story of luck.

Truffle dreams of luck. He thinks he’s found it, but his friends and family think he’s settling too easily.

Rosalie and Truffle find a way to meet in the middle.

This is a sweet story, or two, about love and luck, trusting yourself, and following your dreams.

It’s told in a clever way. First you read Rosalie’s story. Then you flip the book over and read Truffle’s.

Filled with fun and colorful illustrations and cute characters, it’s sure to make you and your children smile.
