This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.
Another fun way to share your book news and enjoy others is the
Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It’s been a busy week of work and reading. You’ll be seeing a lot more horror books as October begins and my Halloween posts start. I’ll be featuring reviews, trailers, guest posts, interviews, giveaways, and cover reveals all through October and, you guessed it, they will be scary good!
I’ve been searching high and low and going through my reading lists to find some good ones and have so much to share.
With the approach of Halloween my heart starts racing. I love horror first and foremost, whether in books or movies. I’ve done so since I was young. I used to sneak out of my room at night and peek to watch the movies my parents thought I was too young for. They were probably right.
I’m looking forward to all of the horror films I’ll be watching, old favorites and new ones. Sometimes I scare myself!
~~~
Books for review.
Porcelain has a brand new cover!
And I’ve got two more but as they aren’t released yet, I can’t share anything right now.
~~~
These I picked up just for me!
Hexes and X’s looked fun so I grabbed it! And The Memory Closet was a freebie on Amazon that grabbed my attention.
~~~
This is the fifth book and now I have all five of the books in this series.
I’ve reviewed the first one, read the second, and now plan to read the rest so I can review all of them.
~~~
And this one I spotted over on Ella Medler’s Blog. I’ve read all of her books and some she co-authored and loved them so when she recommends a book, I don’t hesitate. And it was free at the time!
~~~
And here are some freebies for ya! Click on the covers to get yours.
And remember to make sure they are still free before you click that buy button.
And a few more.
Reviewed this week. Click on the covers for my reviews.
These have some awesome giveaways too!
So, what did you get to read this week?
Got any recommendations?
I’d love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.
I’m looking forward to all the October- y stuff this month, I love this time of year too. Looks like you got some fun new scary reads.
Me too Greg. I have such a fun line up coming soon.
Something for everyone. Good job. I have the first book in the Emily Kinkleman series and would to find time to read it.
I loved the first book and the second. I actually think the rest will be even better. Her characters are growing.
I’m adding books for Halloween, fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas so you’ll see a diverse bunch. LOL
I.like your site very much and now have some ideas to improve my site. Now all I need to do is learn how. Thanks for the ideas.
Thank you too Betty. I just wing it on my blog and learned so much from fellow bloggers. We are a great bunch aren’t we!
You have some great-looking scary covers! Porcelain creeps me out a little…LOL.
Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog. Enjoy your week!
The author just sent me his book and had revised the cover for Porcelain. It’s a really good one isn’t it?! Have a lovely week too:)
The cover of Reign of Blood looks cool, but it’s not for free in Germany and I bought enough books this month, maybe next month 😉 but thanks for the suggestion
So sorry about that. I wish they were free for everyone. I wonder why not?
Great books! I got Hexes and X’s just because it looked like such fun. The cover for Porcelain is now officially in my top 5 creepy covers! Have a great week!
I know. Hexes and Ex’s. It’s even fun to say the title. LOL The author just did the new cover for Porcelain and it ranks up there doesn’t it:)
Cool. I grabbed a couple of those freebies. Hope you enjoy your books. And yay for horror! 😉
Awesome Christy. I am enjoying a bunch of new books. And horror rules!
Nice book haul this week. I hope you enjoy them. Nice site too by the way, I’m a new follower via wordpress.
Have a great week.
Sharon @ Sharon’s Book Nook!
Now I just need to find time to read them.LOL Thanks so much for following. I’ll be sure to follow back and look forward to more of your posts.
I don’t dig horror lit at all but our cousin is an editor for a horror publisher at http://villipede.com/ and is totally into the whole deal. I figure the world is already horrible enough for me! Thanks for coming by.
I’ve loved it from a young age but I do get funny looks from some people when I mention it. Things are pretty mixed on my blog. One day it’s horror, the next a cozy, the next romance, a children’s book… I just love the written word:)
Wow, you got some great books to review, I can’t wait to see what you think of them! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I did get some good ones. Now finding time to read them is something else! LOL
Porcelain looks creepy! LOL! Your books are awesome! Hope you’re enjoying them!
Here’s mine!
My Week in a Wrapped #1
Creepy in a good way! I’ve finished the book and really enjoyed it.
Glad you did 🙂
I’m happy some people think the Porcelain cover looks creepy. Makes me glad I had it redesigned. Hopefully the story is just as creepy.
Thanks for posting the cover.
Hi William. I liked the first cover. It’s part of the reason I was attracted to your story. But this new cover blows it away! Great job!
This time of year is definitely awesome, though not so much because of Hallowe’en for me.
You look like you have four brilliant books this week. I love the cover of The Devil’s Breath, and Porcelain looks decidedly creepy!!!! Hope you enjoy all your books and that you have a great week.
I like the change in temperature, when it finally gets here. Still in the mid to high 80s and muggy:)
Porcelain is an exceelnt cover and The Devil’s Breath is cool. All of the books in Emily’s series have the same picture, just different colors and the colors kind of go with the plot. I like them a lot. Enjoy your week also:)
I love reading this time of year! Spooky books and fall weather just go great together 🙂 Torn looks good! I’ll watch for your review of it.
I know what you mean. You can feel a change coming and the spooky books start coming out of the woodwork. LOL
I just received Torn in the mail today. You should see how spectacular the cover looks in phycial form! Now I’m waiting for the first book to arrive so I can get started reading them.
It sounds like October is going to be great for you! I can’t read or watch horror although I’ve read a few things which are close. I watched an old movie when I was a kid (that my Mom said “don’t watch!”). I think maybe it was Invasion of the Body Snatchers. That did it for me…no more scary stuff…LOL. But I can understand loving it. Have fun with your October posts!
It’s my time of year! It’s funny how that movie turned you away from scary stuff and an old black and white Dracula movie captured me and I began my love of horror.
Congrats on winning the gift card! I like some of your freebies, I’m off to check them out.
It sounds as if October will be a fun and busy month for you, enjoy!
Thanks Bea! I’m going to shop for some books I need to fill out some series and pick up some good ones for a few blog hop giveaways I’m in. Should be a lot of fun!
Well done on all your wins especially the 100 dollar voucher! Very nice! And I love all your horror books, you have given me a few ideas of ones I want to read too. Love the look of Out of The Past, it’s creepy looking in a Hitchcock kind of a way. Enjoy 🙂
I’ve been very lucky. Awesome books and gift cards. Just think of all the books I’ll be getting!
Renee has a collection of short stories in the Reed Ferguson series and I loved them. Kind of noirish with some dark comedy. I was thrilled to see Out of the Past and had to have it.
I am not a big fan of horror as a genre, although in books I scary less easy then when watching a movie. There’s just something about being able to visualize it yourself that makes it less scary. I am currently reading a book that’s marketed as a paranormal thriller, but it’s actually not that scary.
My imagination wreaks havoc when I’m reading a scary book. I visualize well and scare myself. LOL
And I enjoy paranormal suspense and thrillers. It’s that little bit of the unknown that increases the tension and lets your mind roam.
My favorite time of year – love Halloween. I have to dust off my yearly favorite movies to watch this time or year – Halloween and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Always sets the mood for me.
I have a huge list of movies. Slowly working through them And watching scy -fy channel and chiller too!
Wow you got quite a few new books this week, and congrats on your wins! I’m not a big fan of fall or horror stuff, but I do love Halloween.
I love this time of year. I like the scary stuff.LOL
Wow!! LOTS of reads there! And looks like some good Zombie ones too! Enjoy!
Thanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
Oh yeah. Gots to have my zombies:)
$100?! Wow, congrats on that! You can buy many books with that!
And I have. I use gift cards to catch up on some series, buy books I’ve been wanting and to buy books for my giveaways.
Good plan! 🙂
Excellent book haul! I picked up a couple, had a couple and the rest weren’t free anymore. *pouts* Ah, well. It’s not like I don’t have any books to read. lol
Sometimes I feel I should go back the next day and add more freebies. LOL
