The holidays are over. It seems like we wait forever for them to get here, and then they are gone in a flash.
I’m spending this weekend taking down the decorations, organizing and putting them away and doing a cleaning before I put my regular stuff back out.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and safe and happy New Years.
Are any of you doing any reading challenges this year?
I’ve started my Goodreads Challenge again.
Here is last years.
Β I’d read 125 books and read 188. That’s150% percent towards my goal!
And I’ve set a slightly higher goal for 2015 with 130 books.
As much as I devour books, I’m sure I’ll blow this years challenge out of the water too. But I’m really going to be
concentrating on reviewing so it might slow me down.
And I’m eying these two challenges also. They could work with my Goodreads Challenge and look fun.
This one is hosted by Lori at Escape With Dollycas and looks like a fun challenge.
And this one should be fun as I do love my horror!
Hosted by Tracy at Cornerfolds.
I’m also looking at some others and not sure yet which ones I might do.
How about you? Are you doing any reading challenges?
This is Zombie Month on my blog and I’ll be sneaking zombie pics into all of my posts. Keep your eye out!
Iβll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

Got any recommendations?
Iβd love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.
Just testing to make sure my comments are working
Let me just start by saying how cool it is that you are participating in zombie month and the horror challenge. That is almost my favorite thing about your site, your reads are so cool! I am participating in a few challenges. Outdo Yourself Challenge by Book Vixen, Read Your Freebees (no thanks to you and your cool links, I have amassed a boat load of freebees) also by Book Vixen. The Keyword and Motif Challenge both by Bookmark to Blog, and the Discussion Challenge by Feed Your Fiction Addiction. I have set myself up for 100 books this year on Goodreads. I am sure this wont be a problem since I read 94 last year.
Oh, I followed you on Tsu.

Oops, sorry for the incorrect coding. I forgot a > in there. Have a great week Laura!
Some more fun challenges. I just spotted another one on Freda’s Voice. It’s a color challenge and looks kind of fun. Might do it too. I’m following you back on TSU!
I signed up for the Horror Challenge too and way to many others..lol. I love when you have freebies cause you always have mystery/horror books so I always know I will pick up a few off your freebies which I did. π
Happy New Year!

Week In Review
Happy New Year! I had to search quite a bit to find some of the freebies for today. It’s always fun though. I need to get a post together and get started on my challenges.
Nice book hall. Good luck on your challenges this year. Have a great week!
Thanks Angela. It’s going to be a fun year!
Oh my goodness, Laura! So many books!! There are several I’d love to read myself, those that stood out the most to me are the Tanya Kappes books and Growl.
I am participating in five challenges this year, some of them overlap a little bit, so I should be able to manage, hopefully.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.
I really did get fortunate and get some great ones. They are definitely my genre.
Some of my challenges will work together too so that makes me confident to do 3 or 4 this year.
I am doing Contemporary Romance and Literary Pickers Challenges. I have a tab on my site for them. I downloaded Jenny Pox years ago – I don’t know why I ever got to it. My post: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/01/sunpo-1-4-15.html
I saw your challenges. I want to do a bunch of them but then I’d never get any of them done. LOL
Sounds like our weeks are going to be very similar with the putting up holiday stuff and getting caught up on cleaning. It’ll be nice to have everything back to normal and clean! The Tonya Kappes books look really interesting and Murder in the South of France is calling me. Have a great week!
I want to read every book I posted about today. LOL I just devoured some good ones over the holidays and now have to get started on reviews.
Wow, your books look impressive and a little scary…LOL.
I only signed up for the Goodreads Challenge, and lowered my book total, even though I more than met last year’s and the year before.
I am aiming for less stress…
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I do like my scary ones. LOL
Two years ago I did 200 books for my Goodreads challenge and made it but I didn’t get quite all of them reviewed. So last year and this I’m keeping it lower so I can be sure to review all of them.
I thought about signing up for the horror challenge but I don’t think I will. I’m already doing a bunch of challenges and don’t want to get too overwhelmed. I’m probably going to be saving all of my horror reviews (except for ARCs) for October. That way I’ll be ahead that month instead of trying to come up with some at the last minute…like I mostly did this year!
I read so much horror I’m sure I’ll have a bunch for Halloween too. LOL I usually use authors I know well for then also.
It looks like you got a lot to get done this week. I sure hope you get some or most of it done. If you have the time would take a look at this poll and vote in it: Could you please help me by getting word out about my Poll – I need help of all bloggers and member to vote so I have an idea of the best option or options to use for my event called “Reading For Autism”. That will be coming out in April. https://plus.google.com/10667174002757172β¦/posts/M84EfC14FiT
Thanks for commenting.
Lindsay @ Nighttime Reading Center
A busy week for sure! I’ll stop by your poll:)
Your books all look great. The Tonya Kappes books especially have my interest. I have the first one to read and review. I just sent you a friend request on TSU.
Have a great week!
These will be my first books by Tonya and I’m looking forward to them. Another one you might enjoy is the Ghost Trapper series. Such fun.
Those challenges sound like fun. I’ll have to check out the Alphabet Soup challenge.
We finally took down our decorations but now we have to take them to storage (so hopefully we will stop being lazy and do this part this week). I sent you a friend request on TSU. I’m still new to the site so I’m not sure how to do things lol.
Have a great week and enjoy all your new books!
I like how Lori helps you find books for those hard letters to find. I’m optimistic about the challenge.
I boxed up Christmas yesterday and was glad to just get all the decorations down so I could clean properly. Good luck with your challenges and your zombie month! Sounds fun!
All of my decorations are put away and the house is clean. It takes a couple days to get used to it again. LOL
Wow you got quite the haul this week! I’m trying not to look to closely since I’m focused on not buying books this year LOL. That’s one of my challenges actually – I signed up for ten – here’s my summary post if you want to see all of them. Some really good ones! Have a great week π
Ten! Wow. I spotted so many I wanted to do but worried about keeping track and not getting overwhelmed. I’ll check yours out!
I hope you enjoy your books! And hope you have fun with your zombie month! I’ve had Jenny Pox on my ebook reader list forever, I’ve heard it’s good! I need to read it too. Happy New Year!
April @ My Shelf Confessions
I kept ignoring Jenny Pox even though it sounded great. Then I read the authors other series and knew I had to check this out.
Cold Shadows sounds good, hope you enjoy and have a happy 2015
I know it’s going to be great. The first book was!
I do enjoy horror now and then so looking forward to seeing what you read – I need ideas!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics
If you need reads you’ll find a lot here. LOL I do love my horror, whatever it may be.
Evil book pusher! I went and downloaded some of the freebies you listed. π YOu got quite the haul. Happy reading and happy new year!
He He! I can’t help it. I actually grabbed some too:)
Cool book haul! I set my Goodreads challenge to 150 books, and right now I’m doing just one other challenge to finish up a bunch of series that I’ve started. After I reach my goal, I’ll probably add another challenge. I look forward to the reviews on some of your new books!
I’m thinking of one more challenge I spotted and will probably add another as the horror challenge will be done quickly.
I set my Goodreads challenge at a comfortable amount of books because I want to make sure I have time to review all of them.
Wow, that a lot of books read last year! Looks like you picked some fun challenges, I’m doing the Goodreads one(obviously, are there any book bloggers that don’t?), a TBR pile challenge, and a fantasy books challenge because I really want to read more fantasy. I’m also going to be doing a blogging challenge all about the discussion posts…that’s the one I’m most afraid of!
Hope you had an amazing holiday and a great week ahead! =)
I thought about doing a blogging challenge but it’s hard enough for me already. LOL
Holidays always go by so quickly! Good luck with all your challenges! Happy new year (:
I know. You blink and they are over. Now, if spring would only arrive as quickly, LOL
I’m doing the Audiobook Challenge this year. We’ll see how it goes. Good luck on your challenges!
I may try that next year. I’m just now getting some audio books.
Wow, way to go on your challenge! I totally failed mine by 4 books, but that’s alright because last year was a tough one for me. The challenges you picked look pretty fun, I’m trying to find some new ones to change things up a bit.
I hope you have an awesome week!
I was surprised how far I went past my challenge. I figure I will this year too but wanted less stress about it. Trying hard not to add many more challenges but have one or two others I’m checking out.
I am totally with you about how holidays seem to just slip by so very fast. How come it’s work Monday already? lol π I am participating in a couple of challenges, some different from the ones I had last year. Good luck with yours! Thanks for sharing and for visiting my Sunday Post π
Now it’s back to work and back to real life. When does spring get here? LOL
The Tonya Kappes books look good! I actually signed up for the Alphabet Soup challenge because I saw that you were interested in it. I did it last year and missed three letters – but this year it’s on!! I’m also focused on several challenges to read what I already own.
It’s my first time for the alphabet one and I really enjoy Lori’s posts too. Should be fun!
Zombie month, that’s brilliant, but it also makes me long for another series of The Walking Dead, which I know I won’t be able to watch for months yet.
I like the sound of the horror challenge, and I’m doing the GR challenge too – good luck with them π
Doesn’t it come back in February? Not soon enough for me!
I agree with you that the holidays are always over so fast. But I can’t say that I mind it, all those family dinners are just too much at the end π It’s always fun to participate in some challenges, I’m still looking for some I want to participate in. Good luck with yours!
Thanks for stopping by!
I had a very quiet holiday this year. I was sick and one other in my family was too so we couldn’t get together. Happened last year too. We plan to do a Christmas when family comes down this summer.
I am on tsu as well — sydneyeditor1– so I’m glad to find people to follow. I have to confess, I’m not sure what to do with it just yet. how are you finding it?
Sobs. So many books to read! I’m jealous!
I’m just learning about it and wonder what it’s all about too. I think it’s going to grow quickly and become very interesting.
We took down our Christmas decorations last week just after New Years. Hate to see it end so soon. I haven’t set a Goodreads Challenge for myself – just not enough time to read too much, but I have about 5 or 6 books I will have to read this year. Revisiting The Shining right now and then onto Doctor Sleep. Really curious about that sequel. Thanks again for helping me and all you done for me.
You’ll probably be busy writing! I hope so. LOL
Quite an impressive haul, which should keep you ahead of schedule for all of your reading challenges. Other than Goodreads, I haven’t decided on any other challenges yet. I’m not feeling much of a calling toward them this year.
I’m only doing the Goodreads challenge as of yet, though it will certainly change as time goes on I’m sure. I always set my goal to 50 books because I use it more like a gauge rather than a goal. Sometimes I meet it. Sometimes I blow past it. Other times I don’t meet it at all.
Based on your stats last year, it looks like you shouldn’t have a problem blowing by your new goal. Good luck!
Awesome week you had! I’m definitely going to try out the Alphabet Soup Challenge!
Ha, isn’t it lovely when the Goodreads Challenge tells you you’re ahead? I have a copy of Jenny Pox too. Hope you enjoy it, and have a great week!
So many books! I’m surprised you only put your goal up to 130 since you demolished your last goal. I’m going for 96 books this year for the Goodreads Challenge. I’m participating in eleven challenges on the blogosphere world… I know I’m crazy.
it’s time to take down the tree here too. So sad ): ~ Enjoy your week.
Good luck on all the challenges!
You got Silence! I still haven’t read it but I really like Natasha’s other stories so I can only hope this one is amazing as well.
The Kappes books look good. You got quite a few in your stack. I hope you get lots of reading in and enjoy them all! Thanks for stopping by. I joined Tsu and friended you. π
I thought about signing up for the horror challenge, but I don’t normally read a lot of those books, so I held back. I’m still on the fence though, so I may join at a later date. You have quite a few books up there that I haven’t heard of before, so I expect my TBR is going to grow before I leave this page.
Those look liek cool challenges! I’m trying to find some as well, but haven’t found anything yet.
