Welcome to The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice.
This is a really fun meme!
The only rules are to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader and find a sentence or a few (no spoilers) that grabs you and post it.

My 56
Humans are like bees to the supernatural population – an important factor for survival. Similar to the human attitude toward bees, the death of an individual human is of no consequence, but the threat of extinction of the entire race is another matter.
~~~
Synopsis
Ever since Bloody Fall, humans have lived in fear.
Even though the apparently senseless massacres have ended, President Elizabeth Ryan’s administration has been under a cloud of disapproval for failing to bring the terrorists to justice.
She braces herself as a new spate of carnage is unleashed.
Cordelia and Faustine are recruited back into action as the supernatural agencies go on high alert. Has their nemesis re-emerged?
I’ll be reviewing this for the tour in April. I’ve just started it and I’m hooked already.
I didn’t know it was the third book in the Bonfire Chronicles Series.
I’m enjoying this one so much I plan to go grab the first two books too.
New follower.
Thanks so much for following. I’ll be right over!
I’ve heard humans compared to many things, but never bees! This sounds like an interesting book with a unique twist.
My Friday post features GRACIANNA.
I know. There’s so much I’m liking in this book!
It must be hard to read the conclusion first. What a tribute to the author that you’re enjoying it so much. Thanks for visiting my Friday 56 and happy reading!
I like reading backwards sometimes. I enjoy movies like that too.
I’ve never heard of this book until now, but that’s an interesting metaphor. It actually makes a lot of sense when you look at just one death compared to millions.
It does. There’s more to this scene and you nailed it.
Ooh, creepy excerpt! LOL Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
This is a good one!
This sounds really interesting and the cover is beautiful! I look forward to hearing more about series
I plan on grabbing the other books too!
How much fun! I’ve never been able to start a series in the middle before. Haha.
I do it a lot. Then I grab the other books. I’m reading a series right now where I strted with the third book, then the fifth, and now the 8th. LOL
Awesome cover art and great snippet. I think the threat of extinction is quite sobering and the comparison of us to busy bee workers… well, I can picture that. Glad you’re enjoying this one. Look forward to your review.
It doesn’t sound good, does it? When we are dehumanized, it can’t be to our benefit.
This sounds like something I would like and the cover is beautiful. New follower
It is beautiful. And the story is riveting so far! Thanks so much for following. I’ll be by to follow back:)
This sounds interesting. I’m adding it to my tbr. 🙂
Awesome. I’m not finished reading it yet and can already recommend it.
I love the comparisons the author made between humans and those who are gifted; it’s almost believable! Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend Laura 🙂
That makes it so much more captivating, doesn’t it?! I hope you had a wonderful spring weekend too, Claudia:)
Sounds good! Hope you’re enjoying it.
I surely am:)
I love the cover, and a great excerpt! Definitely going to add this to my TBR pile!
