Some chit chat.
So here we are, another Sunday, and I don’t know what to talk about. I actually started this comment on Saturday. Now it’s Sunday and I’m still at a loss. LOL
I thought about the Triple Crown? My dog? My cat? My life? All good things. Then I checked my emails!
There ya go! There’s a ton of them. And, while I would love to check out every single one, if I did, I’d be glued to the computer forever!
Here’s how I usually do emails. I first go to my buddies blogs. Then I wing it. I look for fun tags to posts, some giveaways I might be interested in, and then I try to visit blogs I haven’t been to for a couple days. Some I save, meaning to get back to them. A few I do, but most of time they languish in my emails and eventually get deleted. And then I feel guilty, sad.
Do you feel that way when you delete someones email? They worked hard on their post, hoping someone would come by and read it, like I do. I’ve done some posts I was so proud of and had no comments. I had visitors, but no one left a comment. I wonder why that is? I visit posts and don”t comment too. Sometimes, it’s because I can’t think of anything to say, and sometimes it’s because I’ve been at my computer so long, my eyes are burning. LOL I do at least like the post and tweet it. Try to let my fellow blogger know I’ve been there.
So how do you handle your emails? And what about commenting?
I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

So, what did you get to read this week?
Got any recommendations?
I’d love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.
I am bad about emails as well…lol. I am also bad about just visiting the same certain blogs all the time instead of spreading my love around..got to get better at that.
I hope you start Carrot soon, I love Shelby Nichols, she is goofy and fun and always in trouble..lol. I am going to start book four soon! 🙂
Enjoy all your new reads!

Week in Review
I try so hard to visit but it would take all day. I do try to spread my comments around as much as I can though.
Thanks for sharing about Carrot. I’ll be starting it later this month:)
I don’t do email feeds because I’m already a bit overwhelmed with email so instead I choose to be overwhelmed with blog posts on bloglovin! I definitely feel guilty not commenting or not visiting as much as I can but blog visiting can turn into a full time job if you’re not careful. Great looking books! I have the Heather Graham book and am excited about it. I always enjoy her stories. Have a great week!
I have a lot of blogs I follow on bloglovin too so I’m all over the place. LOL
I had to grab Heather’s new book. I love the Krewe series!
I am reading the Silenced now and enjoying it. As for emails you would hate me and my anal ways. I keep my box constantly cleaned out. If I have too many I go crazy. I check them on my phone and on the laptop all day long.
Ooh, thanks for the encouragement. I can’t wait to start reading it!
You’re right, I’m jealous you can keep your emails cleared out. I did take time to clean mine up yesterday. Now I’m behind on commenting again. LOL
I don’t subscribe to any blogs via email, so I don’t have to hit delete all that often. I do almost always delete emails from Disqus because they are always telling me people “like” a post where I commented, even though I don’t care. For reading blogs I go to bloglovin’ and if I don’t want to read it I hit “Mark as Read” usually it’s for a book review that doesn’t appeal to me. As for commenting, if I take the time to visit I like to be sure to leave a relevant comment. Once or twice a day I end up with nothing to say because the post wasn’t what I expected and I hate to just write “nice post”. If they leave a question, like you did today, I will always answer.
I hope you’ll be able to visit my post. http://eviloverlordthoughts.com/weekly-wrap-up-66/
Thanks for answering! I like to have a little discussion on my Sunday Posts. I follow most blogs by email so it gets overwhelming sometimes. And I too struggle sometimes with what to say. I can sit and stare at that cursor blinking. LOL
You picked up some great books this week. I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads! 🙂
Thanks Brooke. I grabbed some good scary ones too. I like creepy books in the summer. LOL
Nice book haul. You picked up a lot but at least you don’t have to read them all right now. As for emails I just skim. If I need to read I come back too, if not it’s deleted. I’m with you I visit a lot of blogs and share on tweeter the ones I like, but I don’t always leave a comment. Sometimes I just don’t know what to say. Have a great week and Happy Reading ^_^
Yeah, these books are spread out through September but I’ll get reading them now so I don’t leave it to the last minute. One thing about visiting other blogs and commenting, I often don’t get to my own blog often enough. I always respond to comments on my own blog. I love to have discussions wherever I visit:)
I usually don’t follow blogs by e-mail, so i don’t receive many blog posts in my inbox. My personal e-mail usually consist of comments on my own blog, review requests, some spam and a few newsletter I signed-up for. Or e-mails from my plugins or about my sites. For blog commentign I mainly use bloglovin, but when I am busy I prioritize replying to comments on my own blog and commenting back.
I know the feeling of working hard on a post and then having no one comment, I had that happen a lot when I staretd blogging. Nowadays I have a few frequent visitors to whom I am really gratefull who often comment on my posts. I wish I had more time to visit blogs beside commenting back, I feel quilty when I haven’t visited and commented on blogs for a while.
Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I’m with you about focusing on my own blog too. I’m sometimes late responding to comments because I’m busy on other blogs. LOL I also have some frequent visitors that comment. I think it also depends on the days you post. Saturdays are the quietest on my blog.
Oh wow, Laura! That’s a haul! And all your review books look really creepy. The freebies are the ones I need to stay far away from, hopefully, I’ll be able to not click on any of them 😉
I sometimes don’t click through the e-mail for blogs, especially if they have the whole post in the mail (which I prefer!) that way, I can read the post, and choose to click through if I feel like commenting. It’s really hard to keep up with everyone, though, there are so many great blogs out there, and I wish I could find the time to comment and show some love to many more than those I do comment on.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Yep, I like creepy reads in the summer. Don’t know why that is. LOL I spent some extra time browsing the freebies. I like to offer a mixed bag. The hard thing is not grabbing all of them myself!
And I read a lot of the posts in my inbox too and open them when I want to comment. I wish I could comment on every one.
I read and follow a lot of blogs but really only read the same ones all of the time. I try to comment on as many as possible but don’t always succeed. I do like these linkups though, to visit some new blogs and get a bit of a summary of everyone’s weeks!
You sound like me:) I too love the linkups and do several. I’ve made some great blogging friends and found some wonderful authors and books that way.
Commenting: I learned the hard way that you get comments by leaving comments… on blogs that take the time to do the rounds. Some blogs don’t return the visits period. I get that you don’t have much to say at times, it still helps to come up with something even if it’s as simple as “have a good day”, that’s how I know at least who visited so I can visit back.
I hope that feedback helped. And I almost always comment back. Like 90% of the time (I’ve been busy lately). We’reboth comment thirsty, let’s quench each other’s thirst!
I know what you mean. Even on these linkups many don’t visit my blog ever. I don’t think it’s personal, just some people are different, I guess. I try to always visit back too. Sometimes it might not be that day.LOL But I’ll be by!
Ooh, William W. Johnstone is one of my favorite horror authors! As for commenting. Sometimes I don’t have time. I get a lot of emails, but I only actually go read the ones that I have an interest in what it is about. I know that’s bad, but for now it’s all I can do. Great post!
Check out my Sunday Post
Time hasn’t been my friend lately, but I try to at least read posts from my email. Sometimes I check it while somewhere on my phone or kindle and hate trying to comment with those devices. You got a lot of goodies. I’ve been wanting to read Jenny Pox for a long while now and even have it. Maybe I’ll do that soon. Have a great week!
I hear ya about time. I work outside during the day and when I egt home, I’m hot and tired. It takes a while to shower, cool down and unwind. Then it’s time to comment on my own blog and visit others plus check my upcoming posts. Never enough time! If you read Jenny Pox, check out his other series too. The Ghost Trappers is awesome!
All of your books look great. Enjoy and have a great week!
Thanks. I definitely got some goodies!
Great variety of books! I try to visit the blogs that I follow by email, some days there is just not enough time. Have a great week.
I love to mix it up with genres:) There’s never enough time. Some days I’m better than others, depends on how late I work too:)
What a haul!! I haven’t even heard of most of these! I hope you love your new reads 🙂
I got some new authors and some old ones. All look really good!
I can so relate to the emails! I can never get to them all. There just aren’t enough hours in a day!
Never enough! But isn’t it fun!!LOL
Enjoy your new books! I have The Hurricane Sisters, and hope to read it soon.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to starting it soon. It’s now on my summer reading challenge:)
I was planning on writing a post about being overwhelmed by emails as well. It seems impossible to completely keep up with them. I try, but sometimes things just get deleted because I can’t handle the mountain of emails! I do feel guilty, though. 🙂
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I know. I feel so bad when I hit that delete button, but I just can’t visit all of them. I do try to hit different ones each day though:)
You racked up this week with books! Adding some to my TBR now 😉
I’ve been lucky and found some good ones!
I too have the guilt when I see my inbox flooded with emails from blogs I like but haven’t the time to visit, or maybe visit but not leave a comment. 🙁
The cover for The Uninvited has grabbed my attention this week.
I had a feeling other bloggers must have the same dilemma. LOL We do the best we can, right:)
I’m going to start The Uninvited next week. Creepy, isn’t it?!
You’ve been book busy! Enjoy all your new reads, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Yep. Now to find the time to read them. LOL
It never ceases to amaze me, the sheer diversity of your literary diet, LOL.
LOL I can’t help it. I just love stories of all kinds!
Hi Laura,
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I feel exactly the same about no comments on posts I love that I created. To be honest though, it really makes my day when I get an email saying it’s been shared on twitter! I think “yeah! Go post! You’re making it around the world!” he he. It’s a good feeling.
Have a great day,
Amy x
There is twitter! And I try to thank the people who mention me too. That gets to be a big job too. LOL
I don’t follow that many blogs by email so going through my inbox isn’t overwhelming. I usually visit the same blogs each week but I try to visit someone new from my Bloglovin feeds. But I do delete a lot of the emails from blog tour companies, especially the ones I have never worked with or signed-up to be on their email list. Those I delete first before reading the other emails.
You have a great variety of books again this week. I also have Carrots and it has gotten good reviews. Hopefully we both like it.
Have a great week Laura!
When I follow a blog, I usually follow it in most ways that are offered. So I find their notices in several places. LOL Guess I don’t want to miss something:)
I’ve had a few people recommend Carrots. Crossing fingers:)
I package all my blog emails into one email. That way I can flip through, read the ones that grab me the most. Tough to read all of them, so many good ones. I hate to delete or ignore, but there really just isn’t enough hours in the day for all of them. I also need to spread my blog love to more sites. Kind of just stick to the ones I follow.
You sound like the rest of us. There’s only so many hours to devote to my computer.
I’m terrible about my emails and commenting on blogs I visit. There are only so many hours in the day and I need some of them for reading. lol
Oh, I hear ya!
I agree Voracious. It’s hard to decide what to do with time being so short.
sherry @ fundinmental
Never enough time, is there?
Some really great books you’ve picked up.
As for the emails…*sigh* Yeah I feel bad. So bad that I created a separate folder to keep the post emails in…but I still don’t make it to everyone’s when I have the free roam of posts. It’s hard!
I did find some good ones!
I did that with a folder, but then it got overwhelming too. LOL
