Welcome to The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice.
This is a really fun meme!
The only rules are to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader and find a sentence or a few (no spoilers) that grabs you and post it.
Then go over to Freda’s Voice and leave your link so we can visit your 56!
My 56 for this week is from:
Bloodmark
The Bloodmark Saga #1
by Aurora Whittet
Genre: YA Paranormal / Fantasy
From page 56 in the hardcover .
“I don’t make a habit of eating humans, for the record,” I said, taking a slice of the cheese-covered pizza. I quietly devoured it, despite it’s less-than-appealing flavor.

Read on if you want to know more.
Synopsis
Sixteen-year-old werewolf princess Ashling Boru is different from other wolves—she was able to shift to wolf form at birth. Rather than bringing pride to her family, it brings fear, and as a result, she is forced to live in seclusion in Ireland’s countryside. Ashling’s reputation is further blackened when she refuses her betrothed and defies the ancient laws. When her pack’s oldest rivals begin hunting her, she finds herself in the small town of York Harbor, Maine—far from everything she’s ever known.
In Maine, she crosses paths with the dark and rebellious Grey Donavan, and something ignites within her soul. There’s just one problem: Grey is human. Their instant connection turns into a passionate romance, and Ashling begins to believe she can create her own life outside of wolf laws. When she begins to uncover long-buried pack secrets—secrets that threaten to destroy all she holds dear—Ashling’s courage and tenacity are tested. Will she choose her deep and enduring love for Grey, or will she follow Old Mother’s path to her destiny?

Totally different from what I would normally read but it sounds so good!
I couldn’t resist this series. Sounds like fun:)
The cover doesn’t do much for me, but the title does. 🙂

You should check out the other two books. I like how the covers compliment each other. Got a theme going on:)
Probably not for me, LOL. Thanks for sharing, though, and enjoy! Thanks for visiting my blog.
I’ve been wanting something a little bit different and this just might fit the bill:)
Well that’s an intriguing quote! I haven’t seen this one before but it looks good!

Happy reading! 🙂
I sure hope it is!
Probably wouldn’t give the cover a second glance, but you got my interest peaked with that tease…lol. 🙂
I read the synopsis before I saw the cover. I think the cover would still have got me curious. It really looks pretty on the hardcover copy. So colorful and shiny.
Bloodmark seems like a slightly different take on werewolves. Enjoy your current read! 🙂
I have a feeling all of the creatures are going to be a little different.
Don’t think this one is for me, but I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks Catherine:)
LOL Sounds like a hilarious zombie to me… 🙂
Happy weekend!
Are you sure it’s a zombie? LOL
Talk of eating humans and yet devouring pizza. What an odd conversation to have. I hope you enjoy it.
I have a feeling humans are the preferred cuisine:)
I find that very reassuring that she doesn’t eat humans. I haven’t picked up too many werewolf books, but this one sounds interesting. Happy reading!
I’m thinking she just might. LOL

I’m curious about them too. Got all three stacked up on my night stand:)
Well, just in case you are keeping a poll, I don’t make a habit of eating humans either. Ha! Sounds like fun.
Me either! LOL
Another one to add to the tbr!
Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
Wondering whether that comment would have put me off my pizza if it had been “in real life”? Probably not, I love pizza. Great book. Thanks for sharing and visiting.
