Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB at Books And A Beat.
My Teaser for this week is from
Poop
by A.J. Cosmo
Genre: Children’s Book
My teaser from page 62 in the paperback.
Some people are scared of getting on a plane, others are afraid of the dark. Me, I’m terrified of blank paper. What did Miss Primm expect me to say? What are you expecting me to say?
I also want to share the author’s Dedication with you:
“This book is dedicated to everyone who ever turned down a food because it might hurt them, to everyone who ever dreaded destroying a bathroom, and to everyone who ever stayed lonely because they didn’t want to embarass themselves.”
“You are not alone.”

I have a fun picture of the book to share with you, along with my review!
Read on if you want to know more.
My Review
I couldn’t stop reading this once I started. But, I did. I went and got my 21 year old son and we sat down to read it together. He experienced plenty of bullying in school and expressed how lucky he would have been to have this book when he was younger.
We took turns reading it out loud and got into a couple of giggling fits whenever one of us said the word Poop. A fun character is Poop. Look at that cover. Isn’t he kind of cute? How creative of the author to use something people whisper about to engage young readers on a touchy subject.
5 Stars
Synopsis
Poor Liam. On the very first day of fifth grade, in a strange new town, and a large new school, he interrupts everyone to bolt out and into the girl’s bathroom. There, down in the far stall, in pain from a horrible stomach condition, he meets a new friend: Poop. The cheery little guy says he’s there to help Liam through a tough time in his life. But what does Liam need help with? And who, in their right mind, would want Poop for a friend?
I cracked up when I set up this picture. I have a bunch more books by this author and plan to share reviews for all of them between now and Christmas. Be sure to keep an eye out for my posts. You’ll want to grab the books for your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews……etc., or maybe for yourself!

I had no idea this book was about bullying, I think I may have to pick it up myself. Great teaser, and I’m glad you and your son found some quotes to make you giggle!
It’s about bullying and other sensitive issues kids face. I adored it!
Sounds like a fun book with a good message. I know I giggled when I seen the cover!
Giggling is good! LOL This was such a wonderful funny book, Stormi.
Oh my gosh, how cute and fun!!

Good one! LOL
OMG!! That cover, though! Seems like a great way to get kids to read about tough issues. 🙂
Yep, it is! Come on. Isn’t he just a wee bit cute. LOL
You got my attention with this one! It reminded me of a children’s book my grandchildren had called (I think) “Everyone poops.” It cracked them up…and this one sounds very delightful…and touching on important issues, too.
Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “THE AMERICAN GIRL”
That title is clever too. My son and I still chuckle about this one. Especially as the emoji pillow is now on top of the commode to remind us. LOL
You’ve got me curious about this book now. Thanks for sharing it. And thanks for coming by my teaser.
Always good to hear I got you curious:)
This sounds like such a fun book–humorous and meaningful at the same time. 🙂 I will have to look for it. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you get a chance to read it. The author has a whole bunch of wonderful stories.
Definitely need to get this!!! We have a lot of issues around here it may help with 🙂
I think it would be a great one for all households:)
I never heard of this book before. Sounds good.
I sure loved it!
Hi Laura,
In a strange way, I love the character of POOP, totally relatable to children, although I’m not sure that all the adults might agree 🙂
I don’t know what the language is like inside, but this would perhaps be a good story to share before the child started school and any problems reared their ugly heads.
Knowing how to deal with the issues as soon as they present themsleves, would surely be better than having to fire-fight the consequences once the child is already upset and stressed.
Great find and definitely one of the most unique covers of the day 🙂
Yvonne.
You brought up some good angles. I’d say it’s an appropriate story to share with young ones. It’s quite adorable and funny.
There are no curse words, adult situations, or violence in the book (there is a school yard fight but let’s just say the hero gets out of it). I tried to stay away from “potty humor” or at least jokes where the punchline was to be disgusting. Also the reading level is 2.5 and a lot of adults have also said they enjoyed it without sharing it with their children. 🙂
sounds great!
I sure think so:)
Thank you so much for this teaser! I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the book and so happy that you couldn’t put it down (but did :D). This was a very personal book and I’m so happy that people are finding their own meaning in the work. If anyone has any questions I would love to answer them!
I now feel my review is very lacking. There was much more than just bullying to this book. And I’m still giggling:)
It’s wonderful regardless! I had a lot of trouble with the description of the book for just that reason, there’s too much to cover! What’s important though is that you were entertained.
🙂
This book sounds wonderful! I love your poop pillow, too. ?
Sounds like a pretty great book and awesome teaser! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
