Some chit chat.
Well, what a week! I’m so glad it’s over. Now that the election results are in, perhaps social media and television will return to normal. But, enough about that.
I had a quiet week and it was wonderful. I caught up on some new episodes of my TV shows, watched some good movies, and did a bunch of reading.
I also got a lot done in blogging ahead. The holidays are fast approaching and I’m usually not on line as often as I’m busy with family and friends.
I’m looking for some non traditional recipes to cook this year for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas? Anybody got some suggestions for me? I’m up for anything that doesn’t cost too much or require some exotic ingredients.
Iβll be hopping over to check out your Sunday Posts so be sure to leave me your link.

So, what did you get to read this week?
Got any recommendations?
Iβd love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.
I’m not sure if this is non traditional or not, but my family has been doing things like having lasagna and different kinds of meatballs at our big family gathering for Christmas- granted that’s not Thanksgiving but it would be different from turkey! Hope you find something good.
Glad you had a good week. I need to catch up on so many shows. I like the look of Werewolf High, and Tainted Cure has me curious. Love that title!
Lasagna sounds yummy. I like that any time:) I thought Werewolf High would be fun and Tainted Cure is unique and I really like Ashley’s writing.
My goodness! I think that you have officially got me into the holiday spirit! I do have a couple of holiday reads scheduled for December and I cannot wait to read something fluffy for a change. I hope that you find some interesting recipes. The one thing that I have always wanted to try is a tourtiΓ¨re, which is a meat pie that is made in Quebec over the holidays. Have a wonderful week! π
I doubt I’ll get to even half of these, but then I have all year. LOL I’ve never had a meat pie. That could be something to try:)
Based on what I’ve seen on Twitter, I doubt anything will be normal for a while. The reaction to people who voted Trump seems to be the same as those in the UK like me who voted to leave the EU. We’re all being called racist which is not nice to hear. When I think how united the US was right after 9/11 and see it now, it’s a bit upsetting. I guess politicians have a lot to answer for! Nice haul this week!
I blame the media for much of this rubbish. I’m out and about and don’t see anybody ranting and raving. It seems like life as normal until you watch the telly.
I’ve been reading a lot of holiday books because of Kimba’s #HoHoHoRAT challenge. I’m totally in the holiday mode and it’s helped my mood. Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
I wanted to do her challenge. Just couldn’t find time. I guess I waited to long. But I’ll plan it for next eyar.
I’m not ready Christmas, but then I never am. It seems to just ARRIVE. LOL
sherry @ fundinmental My Sunday Memes
It sure does seem that way! LOL
Are you in a romance reading mood? π That is way to much holiday cheer reading for me…lol. I hope you enjoy them!! π
Happy reading,
Stormi
Week in Review
It might take me til next Christmas to read them all. LOL
We’ve not done it for Christmas – our families are too traditional, but we have provided three types of casserole, along with a variety of bread rolls or cooked rice for various dinner parties. The lovely thing is that you can make them in advance, freeze them and then on the day, reheat them again and you’re good to go. Which means you, too, can enjoy yourself…:) In the meantime, hope you have a great reading and blogging week. This is my Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/11/13/sunday-post-13th-november-2016/
I wish I did that. I’m always a last minute person. LOL
LOL I think you’re all set for Christmas reading until next year. I don’t have any non-traditional holiday recipes, sorry. It’s a good idea, I hope you get some.
Yeah, and it’ll take til next Christmas to read them all. LOL
You shared so many wonderful Christmas reads — what a great way to get into the spirit! Have a great week.
I could have shared so many more! Lots of good ones out there now that the holidays are approaching. And always happy to spread the love:)
Thank you for the freebies, what a great reading list. Enjoy and have a great week!
You’re welcome:) I enjoy browsing for them. I do try not to grab all of them myself!
Now I need to go one click a few christmas books, thank you! π
I usually keep the holidays light with just Ham and a bunch of sides, my favorite is Brussel Sprouts and bacon or Acorn Squash which is so yummy with Maple syrup and pecans.
Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!
There are so many fun ones out there right now. I love a warm holiday story:) Never tried Acorn Squash before:) Hmm…
I have no Thanksgiving recipes to share. I am always so unoriginal! Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie. Thats it for us!
Enjoy your books!
Those are so good any time of the year!
Well, clearly I need to sort out some more festive reads for the season and your post is inspiring! I may have to grab some of these.
You sound so organised with blogging ahead! And I can’t believe Christmas is so close already. Eep. I’m not ready!
Hope you have another good week this week!
What I am scrambling about it getting holiday reviews ready! LOL
Five Dog Voodoo looks good. I am jumping for joy that you loved The Scorpio Racesl
My mother always makes harvard beets for all the holiday meals. I love them. My ex in-law’s Russian neighbor always brought whole cranberry sauce mixed with horseradish as a dip for ritz crackers. I still make it for us. I never had a recipe for it, but I would add horseradish to suit your own taste. It”s yummy.
Have a wonderful week. π
I had The Scorpio Races on my Kindle for quite a while. I could kick myself for taking so long to read. I added it to my TBR reading challenge so I would. I like horse radish. Sounds like an interesting sauce.
oh wow look at all those christmas reads! I have not read any last year, so I have been looking for some good ones this year. I want to read some of the Carolyn Brown cowboy ones, I hear they are funny and really good
I have a few cowboy ones. I’ll check into hers:)
Laura, noticing your Christmas books I just wanted to add I also have a Christmas short story out: Christmas Magic 1959 by Kathryn Meyer Griffith. It’s a look back at my childhood with my poor but loving family and grandparents circa 1959 St. Louis. And best thing: It’s FREE everywhere until Xmas. Please pass the word! https://books2read.com/u/mqzEJ2 http://tinyurl.com/z9ysjc4
HI Kathryn. I just read it and will be in touch about sharing it!
Woah, that’s a lot of books! Maggie Stiefvater has such beautiful covers, enjoy!
LOL I do love sharing them! Maggie is a wonderful writer and, yes, she has fabulous covers for all of her books.
Well done on blogging ahead. I need to do that as I’m planning a week away in December – before my usual December break – so wouldn’t mind pre-planning so posts rather than start my break earlier than usual!
It sure takes time but I act when that mood strikes! LOL
That’s great that you’re still blogging ahead into the Holiday season!!! I need to do some of that right now b/c you’re right, we’re all usually with family and friends during the season.
Great holiday book haul this week! I can’t believe those bundles were only 99cents each!!! Amazing π
Yep, we all get busy this time of year and can’t always be by our computers so blogging ahead is a plus:)
I couldn’t believe how many book bundles I ran across while browsing. Could have shared many more!
So many books acquired this week! Loads of Holiday stuff, too. I am not quite ready for it to be so close to xmas. I haven’t get Thanksgiving figured out yet. Anyways, I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!
I grabbed way more stories than I can possibly read and review before the holiday, but i enjoy them year round:)
Yay for catching up on blogging! That’s always a struggle. Thank you so much for sharing all the Christmas books! I’m always looking for something to fit the season! Have a great week π
Here’s my Weekly Recap!
I knew I had to get some posts done ahead of time. We all get busy with other things this time of year. And it’s so hard to resist Christmas stories. Now to find time to read some. LOL
I’d say you do have plenty of Christmas reads lined up! And hey, what awesome deals. I really like the looks of Five Dog Voodoo (imagine that) so I’m going to have to look into that series. It’s great that you are getting some posts done ahead of time. I’m lucky if I’m a week ahead of schedule – but hey, I try!
I have more holiday books than I can read in one year! LOL I will read them though:) I like them year round. I admit, the title and cover were why I wanted to read Five Dog Voodoo. Then I read the blurb and was sold:) I’m bad about blogging ahead and then slacking off. LOL
Enjoy all of your books! I wish I could catch up on blogging! I call it good if I’m scheduled 3-4 days ahead.
I’ve got a bunch for this month and December. The work is writing review posts for the empty spots. LOL
I think my comment didn’t save yesterday lol. It looks like you are set for holiday books this year. I had grabbed some so I can get in the holiday spirit =). I hope you have a great week!
Yep. Starting to feel it too! LOL
Holy cow, you’re not going to run out of Christmas reads for a couple of years! Wow!
I wish I had a recipe to suggest, but I tend to stick to the traditional for our holiday meals. I hope you find a few that appeal to you. Have a great week and enjoy some of those new books!
LOL yep. I have enough for several holidays to come.
I’ve sure seen a lot of election type posts everywhere, it will be nice to see a bit less of that now. Yay for getting some blogging ahead done for the month ahead. Maybe a casserole of some sort would work for Christmas? Or something like Shepherd’s pie, that’s always good this time of the year.
I think I got that Heartwarming Christmas box set last year, still haven’t read anything from it though, but it sounded like a good one and 0.99$ sure is a steal for a box set. I got It’s Beginning to Look a lot like chick lit earlier this week as an author I know was part of the set and I saw it on another blog. I hope you’ll have a great week!
