Welcome to The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice.
This is a really fun meme!
The only rules are to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader and find a sentence or a few (no spoilers) that grabs you and post it.
Then go over to Freda’s Voice and leave your link so we can visit your 56!
My 56 for this week is from:
77 Shadow Street
by Dean Koontz
Genre: Horror
From page 56 in the paperback.
He didn’t think he was a berserk killer, but he had never been tested. One thing Winny had learned from books was that you had to be tested in life to discover who you were and what you were capable of doing.

Synopsis
Welcome to the Pendleton. Built as a tycoon’s dream home in the 1880s and converted to luxury condominiums not quite a century later, the Gilded Age palace at the summit of Shadow Hill is a sanctuary for its fortunate residents. Scant traces remain of the episodes of madness, suicide, mass murder—and whispers of things far worse—that have scarred its grandeur almost from the beginning.
But now inexplicable shadows caper across walls, security cameras relay impossible images, phantom voices mutter in strange tongues, not-quite-human figures lurk in the basement, elevators plunge into unknown depths. With each passing hour a terrifying certainty grows: Whatever drove the Pendleton’s past occupants to their unspeakable fates is at work again. And as nightmare visions become real, as a deadly tide begins to engulf them, the people at 77 Shadow Street will find the key to humanity’s future . . . if they can survive to use it.

Definitely sounds deliciously spooky!
Yep. And I like that. LOL
I haven’t read Koontz in a while, but this book sounds frightening, intense, and impossible to put down. Thanks for sharing. Here’s mine:
“THE WOMAN IN CABIN 10”
It’s reminiscent of his older works and I liked that.
It’s hard to wrong with Dean Koontz and this looks like one I haven’t read yet. Looking forward to hearing what you think.

It’s good and scary!
I’ve been wanting to read something by Dean Koontz for awhile and this sounds like my kind of book! Love the idea of the condos in the old mansion and stuff going horribly wrong. I’ll definitely be looking for this one!
I like the premise too and it does get creepy!
hmmm sounds interesting, I haven’t read a Koontz book in a while.

I’d read this one, for sure! Happy weekend!
It’s out there and I loved it.
I have not read this one, but seems interesting! Happy Friday:)
I really like it. It also gave me the creeps. LOL
I’m going to look into this Koontz! I haven’t read much since the Odd series.
I love the Odd series. Wish they would make more movies.
I gobbled it up!
This looks interesting. It’s been a long time since I read a Dean Koontz novel. I should add him back into the rotation.
I’ve read just about everything he’s written. Need to check for new ones.
Hmm, I don’t think I’ve tried this one. 🙂
