This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.
I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Some chit chat.
Thanksgiving has come and gone. The turkey and all the trimmings are just a memory. Now I’m decorating for Christmas. Got the tree done and I’m now crafting some decorations that I got inspired to try from looking on Pinterest. Some are coming out good and some were complete failures. LOL
I’ve been watching the telly, binging some shows and just finished watching L I F E. It’s a space movie about bringing back a life form from Mars. Of course, it goes horribly wrong. I really enjoyed it. Have you seen it yet?
And I’ve loaded my QUE with a bunch of holiday movies. And recording some to On Demand. I love the Hallmark Channel! I also like to catch the holiday episodes on my favorite shows and cartoons. And there’s those traditional movies I watch every year, like White Christmas, Rudolph, Charlie Brown and some horror thrown in for sh#ts and giggles.
And I’m reading a whole bunch of books. Adult, YA, middle grade and early readers. Since I’ve really gotten into children’s books, I may start a new blog just for reviewing them. For now I have my Kid’s Korner feature on Wednesday’s.
Okay, I’ll stop now and share my bookish stuff. LOL
I hope you all had a fabulous week and thanks for stopping by!

Nope, haven’t seen that movie 🙂 but I don’t watch a lot! Oh, and yes, children’s books are so much fun! A whole separate blog? Wow, that’s a lot of work though!
Have a great week, Laura 🙂
I love to watch movies and shows. My next favorite thing to reading:) I’ve toyed with the idea of a separate blog but no immediate plans. Like you say, a whole lot of work. LOL
Thanks for the freebies, some look really good.
It’s one of my favorite parts of my Sunday post. I like to browse all over free book sights and try to find something for everyone. The hard part is not grabbing all of them myself. LOL
I’m glad to hear your Thanksgiving went well – as for Christmas, we’re not remotely ready for it. Yikes, a completely separate blog for Children’s Books? I can understand your thinking, but I’m with Evelina, what a lot of work! In the meantime, best of luck with those Chrissie decorations:).
I’ve thought about a separate blog all year. I’ll continue to think about it. LOL It would be hard to maintain 2 blogs and I do have my Kid’s Korner.
Yay for warm weather to decorate in. I hate having to decorate in the cold. Everything is sharp and my hands are hurting.
I think our turkey will be turning in to soup today. We had ours a day late so it should still be okay. Right?
I think a kids books blog is a great idea. Especially since you are well known for reviewing horror and scary books.
Have a great week!
It’s a beautiful day today. Sunny and warm so I’m ready to start decorating the front of the house. And the turkey should still be good.
I’ll think more before I venture with another blog. Yeah, I do love the scary stuff. LOL
Not heard of LIFE is it on netflix? I have been watching a lot of the new Christmas movies plus some of my favorite older ones and I agree White Christmas is a must watch for me too. 🙂
Wow, you have really gotten into the kids books! Some are really fun and that Capt. No Beard series looks so cute!! 🙂
Have a great week!!

Week in Review
It’s a Netflix DVD. Not for streaming yet. And I have been into the kids books. I have such fun with them and they sure bring back memories:)
I have one of the Hallmark Channels on in the background as I write, read, whatever. And I record some of the movies…which, for some reason, I am really loving this year! I usually prefer the mysteries on that Movies & Mysteries Hallmark Channel, but even the romances are captivating me.
Enjoy your week and your books, and thanks for visiting my blog. I hope to bring in my Christmas decorations today….
It’s the season for Christmas and romance movies. I also enjoy Lifetime, both channels. Always something thrilling on those.
I need to check out Life. I love the new mysteries books, I grabbed the free one. I’ve watched two Hallmark movies and all of Harry Potter this holiday season..LOL Have a lovely week.
L I F E was creepy good. Imagine being trapped in space with something deadly. Yes! LOL It’s been some time since I watched Harry. Have all the movies and should binge them. And Lord of The Rings has been calling to me too.
We have been watching every Christmas movie we can find. 🙂 I have to check out a few of those freebies now. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks for stopping by earlier.
I love holiday movies and shows. Got a bunch ready to watch!
Oh Christmas movies!!! I have to watch A Christmas Story every year. Its a family tradition! I love White Christmas too. And Christmas Vacation!
A Christmas Story never gets old. LOL Isn’t there one called Christmas With The Krantz? Something like that. My mother loves that one too.
I’m loving all the Hallmark movies this year – they’ve been on in the background non-stop since last week! Oh – and I totally know what you mean about Pinterest Fails … I may or may not have had a few over Thanksgiving ;). Thanks for the Freebie recommendations – some of these look great!
I love to have them on while decorating and cleaning too. Try hard not to stop what I’m doing to watch them more closely. LOL
Ow I love Christmas. Here in The Netherlands we usually get started with Christmas decorations after December 5th, an annual holiday. But each year we start getting more Christmas stuff earlier and earlier. I’m trying to get my husband to agree to getting a tree earlier too.. But I don’t think I’m having any luck. LOL
Those freebies look great. 😀
Have a great week and happy reading!
I start decorating early as it seems by the time I’m finished its time to take them down. LOL
We still have a fridge full of ham! I have to put everything in the oven because the microwave is out, so I’m not as inclined to wait that long for everything to heat up in the oven. I read The Seven Steps to Closure a couple of years ago and it was hilarious! I hope you have more successful ornaments than fails. I definitely get the Pinterest fails! Several of my recipes haven’t turned out quite like they should. I hope you have a great week!
I’d never complain about all that ham! LOL The ornaments are a struggle. Some are going well and others not so much.
Thanksgiving goes quick, doesn’t it? I’m glad for the Christmas season though, I enjoy it. And yay for Christmas movies, especially the traditional ones (looking forward to catching Charlie Brown- that one never gets old). 🙂
Ring in the Year with Murder looks fun. 🙂
Yep. It flew right on by! And I’m in the Christmas mood now. I listen to the songs on the radio while driving, singing along. With the windows up, of course. LOL
Seems like everyone but me is decorating for Christmas this weekend! I’m looking forward to Christmas movies, too. The original How The Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Carol (or maybe two — I love both the George C. Scott and the Patrick Stewart versions), Polar Express, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and my very favorite of all time, A Child’s Christmas in Wales. (I know, no one has ever heard of it. But it’s wonderful. Based on the Dylan Thomas poem.)
Whoops, forgot to subcribe to comments!
I love The Grinch too. And the older movies are a big draw for me too.
I’m putting up my Christmas stuff, too. Enjoy your Christmas movies and have a great week!
I didn’t get as much done as planned. Got distracted by a book! LOL
We watched the original Grinch this weekend. Didn’t get to the Christmas decorations, hopefully later this week. Have a great week.
There are so many Christmas movies to watch. I figured I better get started so I can see them all!
Several books there look great! Outage? I must look that up!
I love Christmas movies all through December! 🙂 Can’t wait to get started.
Have a great Monday!
I’ve already started and hard to stop. LOL
Belated happy thanksgiving – hope you ate well and had a good time. I don’t think I can get the Christmas decorations up yet, it seems too soon but I know it won’t be much longer till I start unpacking the boxes.
I ate and just relaxed, Thanks:) I have tons of decorations and use the guest room to spread them out and make a plan of attack. LOL
Hard to believe Thanksgiving is in the rear view. Goes by so fast.
I know. December will be a blur too. LOL
I might have to crack out some Christmas movies to get into the spirit this year. Mum and I usually watch a few together but we slacked off the last couple of years!
You seem to have a cat theme going on with some of those covers! I hope you enjoy your new books. Have a great week!
The movies sure get me in a happy mood. As does the music. Yep, kitties are on the prowl:)
Lots of great looking books here this week and I even had to go grab a few of the free ones. We watched Life and I thought it was pretty good as well. I don’t watch Christmas movies much but do try to catch one or two during the season.
I grabbed a couple too:) L I F E was a pleasant surprise.
White Christmas is one of my favorites!
Have a good week!
Mine too! Makes me want to sing and dance:)
I love the title of This is not a Werewolf Story because I do not like werewolf stories. Ha ha. That cover is pretty nifty, too.
I would love to win those childrens books because I give all of my kids review books to a nonprofit daycare/afterschool care near me. I will be hopping on that post.
I don’t really decorate for the holidays anymore. We have a Yule branch and I hang our stockings and that’s about it. I should try putting up a little more because I get kind of melancholy when it is cold out. I am such a wimp. Maybe it would cheer me up. 🎄
Have a wonderful week. ☺
I have a giveaway going up tomorrow for the Captain No Beard complete series, signed print copies! I adore the series:)
I’m excited to see what This Is Not A Werewolf Story is all about. Sounds fun and I love that cover too.
I don’t get much company for Christmas. I think I decorate to get some joy out of the season:)
I wish I was able to make my own ornaments, but not only do I not have the patience for it, I’m really no good at it either…
Your new books look great! And reading children’s books is nice every now and then, I am always looking for recommendations for friends who have younger children.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
I’m almost wishing I hadn’t tried.LOL But I’m happy with some of things I’ve tried:)
I enjoy reading and sharing the kids books. It brings a smile to my face:)
I have been loving the Hallmark channel lately! All those Christmas movies are so fun. I think the Debbie Macomber ones are my favorite though they always make me want to read the book to see how it’s different. I’ve been enjoying Middle Grade lately as well. There are so many amazing books in the genre. Have a great week!
They have some fun new ones this year too! It always makes me warm and fuzzy to watch them:) And the middle grade books are such fun. I remember how much I enjoyed them as a young girl. A lot more to choose from now!
I think my festive period is going to involve the critical rehoming of books! I have piles everywhere and they need shelf space which I don’t have so I’m fretting about that right now. I intend to try and read tonight but I’m not getting my hopes up though on the bright side my dad is zooming through my Hunter Shea collection!
I have several boxes of books that I’ve been meaning to re-home and they are haunting me. I keep wanting to open the boxes up and go through them again but I know I’ll start pulling some out. LOL
I love Hunter’s books! Got one coming in the mail now. I like his full novels in print.
So many pretties! Yay for having some good reading this week 🙂
In so many genres. LOL I do love to mix it up:)
