This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

Not much happening. My life is so routine right now. I work and come home. But summer will be here before you know it and then it’s poolside and good books.

With nothing new to tell you, I figured I’d share more about my plants. If this stuff bores you, just scroll down for other news.

Here’s last weeks picture of Flora.

20180331_105530

She’s doing so well!

20180406_122229

Underneath the larger leaves are a bunch of new tender leaves. I have a feeling Flora is going to be huge this year!

20180406_122237

And I have some new banana trees growing.

20180406_122252

These are already over 3 feet tall!

And I thought I’d start to share about my Sega Palms. This is how one of them looks before new growth begins and a cold winter.

20180406_122324

Here is the center of the palm where the new shoots spring up.

This one here already has some starting. You can see the short tips poking up.

As soon as they get taller, I’ll cut off the old leaves. They are very sharp and pointy. Hurt like crazy when they stab you. The new shoots are soft like a feather and take a while to harden.

That’s all folks.

Have a fabulous  Sunday!

Wow all kinds of growing going on! Kinda nice to see, as it’s about 20 degrees here as I type this lol. We just can’t shake the cold weather. 🙂

Abominable and Into the Mist look pretty awesome. Happy reading this week. 🙂

  2. I’ve just been trimming my Sago palms today. Plenty of cuts and red marks up my arms now. They’re spiky little critters.

  3. kozbisa says:

Your Flora is doing awesome, and I think it’s pretty great that you get to grow your own bananas. My grandfather had been a farmer in Poland, and maintained a garden in Brooklyn. He had a pear tree, and they were so much better than the ones from the market.

  4. Your plants are doing really good! I am done with the weather here where I am too. 🙂 I want a banana tree!! 🙂 You got some good looking books, hope you enjoy them!

  5. Your plants are doing awesome and look amazing! I wish I had a yard that I could grow plants that sprout every year. I am still hoping to do my garden this year but this weather needs to warm up soon.

I hope you have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!

  6. Your plants look great, and the bananas are taking off! The middle of the Sega Palm is cool. Have a wonderful week! 🙌

  7. Jenea says:

The plants look great. The Sega Palm is really neat! Enjoy your new books, happy reading. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I moved the one seag from my old house. It’s gotten huge and I’ve got all of the other ones from it. Lots of baby segas!

  8. Flora and Sega are both doing well! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy your new books, all of which are new to me. I am curious about Eat Pray Die.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  9. I love seeing pictures of the plants. Mostly because it snowed here 2 times this week. I’m over it. Glad to see the plants are doing well!! Have a great week!

  10. Your plants are gorgeous! We have some blooms but we keep getting freeze warnings so I’m afraid they’re not going to survive. Pool time and good books sound amazing! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Everything is growing fast but still too cold for the pool. I need some days without rain to get it ready for swimming.

  11. I like that garden bird next to Flora 🙂 and wonderful weather! Have a great week, Laura 🙂

  12. Flora is enormous! What kind of plant is she? I have such a brown thumb, I can’t grow anything well… and if it grows without my help (i.e., the hosta), then the deer eat it. So I have to enjoy other people’s gardens vicariously. 🙂

  13. I’m so ready for summer… And quiet weeks are good! 🙂

  14. I’m excited for summer. I want to go hiking. The plants look like they’re doing well. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like taking walks in the spring and fall. Summer gets so hot and humid and its uncomfortable to do much then. LOL

  15. carolesrandomlife says:

I am so ready to see some pretty plants around here. All of the plants in my area will probably be confused from all of this strange weather. Enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think the plants and critters are confused. Some bugs and lizards showed up and then we got some cool weather and they disappeared again.

  16. I love the pics of your plants! Gardening is so therapeutic. The ground is still frozen here with snow in some areas of my yard. Enjoy your new books!

  17. Those poor plants would absolutely be dead in my yard! XD Good job, they look great! I hope you enjoy your new reads and thanks for the freebies!

  18. Loving your plants and I sympathise with the going to work coming home and repeat routine – life can be very tiring!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My plants make me happy. The routine not so much. I swear I get to work and barely remember driving there. Kinda scary. I need to start looking around me. Everything changes so fast.

  19. A few intriguing looking covers there…I haven’t tried Samie Sands yet but I do have a couple of books on the ereader.

  20. So I’m not sure why but that cover of 10 Mad Cows is totally creeping me out! What is up with that poor decimated cow???? Which also resembles a chocolate bunny. I’ve been sick all weekend and clearly my head still is in a fog because that cover terrifies me!

Flora is going to be huge! I’m so envious. I’m lucky if I can keep flowers alive outside in the summer!

  21. Your plants look so nice and alive! Things here are /barely/ green– and considering the snow we got last night I don’t blame them for waiting a little bit longer before putting out new growth 😉

  22. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

Oh…Pool sides… *sigh* I don’t have a pool but here where it’s still snowing, that sounds sooooo goooood. lol. Your flora is doing so well!

Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s still a bit chilly for swimming. The water hasn’t warmed up enough yet. That usually doesn’t stop me though. LOL

  23. I was hoping to get my veggie plants into the ground soon, but this weather will not cooperate. I’m ready for warm weather and greenery!
