This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.
I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Some chit chat.
Not much happening. My life is so routine right now. I work and come home. But summer will be here before you know it and then it’s poolside and good books.
With nothing new to tell you, I figured I’d share more about my plants. If this stuff bores you, just scroll down for other news.
Here’s last weeks picture of Flora.
She’s doing so well!
Underneath the larger leaves are a bunch of new tender leaves. I have a feeling Flora is going to be huge this year!
And I have some new banana trees growing.
These are already over 3 feet tall!
And I thought I’d start to share about my Sega Palms. This is how one of them looks before new growth begins and a cold winter.
Here is the center of the palm where the new shoots spring up.
This one here already has some starting. You can see the short tips poking up.
As soon as they get taller, I’ll cut off the old leaves. They are very sharp and pointy. Hurt like crazy when they stab you. The new shoots are soft like a feather and take a while to harden.
That’s all folks.
Have a fabulous Sunday!

My new books this week.
I bought a few and grabbed a couple freebies. All eBooks this week.
You would think with spring I’d be switching to some cozies and romances, but nope. I’m a thriller horror gal all year round. LOL

Wow all kinds of growing going on! Kinda nice to see, as it’s about 20 degrees here as I type this lol. We just can’t shake the cold weather. 🙂
Abominable and Into the Mist look pretty awesome. Happy reading this week. 🙂
Yep. Everything is green! Reading Into The Mist now and chomping fun.
I’ve just been trimming my Sago palms today. Plenty of cuts and red marks up my arms now. They’re spiky little critters.
Yeah. I know I’ll be in the same condition this week when I do mine. LOL
Your Flora is doing awesome, and I think it’s pretty great that you get to grow your own bananas. My grandfather had been a farmer in Poland, and maintained a garden in Brooklyn. He had a pear tree, and they were so much better than the ones from the market.
I’m hoping to get more bananas this year. A tropical storm took them out last year.
Your plants are doing really good! I am done with the weather here where I am too. 🙂 I want a banana tree!! 🙂 You got some good looking books, hope you enjoy them!

Week in Review
I’m over this weather too. We didn’t get as cold as others this weekend but still got chilly.
Your plants are doing awesome and look amazing! I wish I had a yard that I could grow plants that sprout every year. I am still hoping to do my garden this year but this weather needs to warm up soon.
I hope you have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!
I always feel so lucky to live where I do. Never have gotten used to a green Christmas though. LOL
Your plants look great, and the bananas are taking off! The middle of the Sega Palm is cool. Have a wonderful week! 🙌
Everything is growing in leaps and bounds! I was caught by surprise by the one seag. All of the others aren’t starting new growth yet but that one is. I have a feeling its because its on the east side of the house. Gets the most sun.
That would make sense.
The plants look great. The Sega Palm is really neat! Enjoy your new books, happy reading. 🙂
I moved the one seag from my old house. It’s gotten huge and I’ve got all of the other ones from it. Lots of baby segas!
Flora and Sega are both doing well! Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy your new books, all of which are new to me. I am curious about Eat Pray Die.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Yes, they are happy being green! LOL
I love seeing pictures of the plants. Mostly because it snowed here 2 times this week. I’m over it. Glad to see the plants are doing well!! Have a great week!
It’s crazy that winter is still lingering in a lot of places. Been a long one this year!
Your plants are gorgeous! We have some blooms but we keep getting freeze warnings so I’m afraid they’re not going to survive. Pool time and good books sound amazing! Have a great week!
Everything is growing fast but still too cold for the pool. I need some days without rain to get it ready for swimming.
I like that garden bird next to Flora 🙂 and wonderful weather! Have a great week, Laura 🙂
You like my zombie flamingo!
Flora is enormous! What kind of plant is she? I have such a brown thumb, I can’t grow anything well… and if it grows without my help (i.e., the hosta), then the deer eat it. So I have to enjoy other people’s gardens vicariously. 🙂
Flora is a split leaf philodendron and she is thriving. She will get way bigger than this as she grows.
Thanks! She’s impressive.
I’m so ready for summer… And quiet weeks are good! 🙂
Me too! And quiet weeks are the best.
I’m excited for summer. I want to go hiking. The plants look like they’re doing well. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!
I like taking walks in the spring and fall. Summer gets so hot and humid and its uncomfortable to do much then. LOL
I am so ready to see some pretty plants around here. All of the plants in my area will probably be confused from all of this strange weather. Enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!
I think the plants and critters are confused. Some bugs and lizards showed up and then we got some cool weather and they disappeared again.
I love the pics of your plants! Gardening is so therapeutic. The ground is still frozen here with snow in some areas of my yard. Enjoy your new books!
Watching everything grow does feel good. Makes me happy!
Those poor plants would absolutely be dead in my yard! XD Good job, they look great! I hope you enjoy your new reads and thanks for the freebies!
I was worried a couple of times, but they pulled through some cold snaps. No stopping them now!
Loving your plants and I sympathise with the going to work coming home and repeat routine – life can be very tiring!
My plants make me happy. The routine not so much. I swear I get to work and barely remember driving there. Kinda scary. I need to start looking around me. Everything changes so fast.
A few intriguing looking covers there…I haven’t tried Samie Sands yet but I do have a couple of books on the ereader.
I’ve enjoyed some of Samie’s books. Got a couple to share soon.
So I’m not sure why but that cover of 10 Mad Cows is totally creeping me out! What is up with that poor decimated cow???? Which also resembles a chocolate bunny. I’ve been sick all weekend and clearly my head still is in a fog because that cover terrifies me!
Flora is going to be huge! I’m so envious. I’m lucky if I can keep flowers alive outside in the summer!
It is creepy. LOL I can’t wait to read this though!
Your plants look so nice and alive! Things here are /barely/ green– and considering the snow we got last night I don’t blame them for waiting a little bit longer before putting out new growth 😉
So the groundhog was right this year. LOL
Oh…Pool sides… *sigh* I don’t have a pool but here where it’s still snowing, that sounds sooooo goooood. lol. Your flora is doing so well!
Hope you have a great week!
It’s still a bit chilly for swimming. The water hasn’t warmed up enough yet. That usually doesn’t stop me though. LOL
I was hoping to get my veggie plants into the ground soon, but this weather will not cooperate. I’m ready for warm weather and greenery!
We just has a cold spell blow through. Enough already!
