This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.
Iām also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Some chit chat.
It was a busy week at work. I got lucky and Friday was a free day off so I’m enjoying the long weekend. Spent Friday doing yard work as Saturday is supposed to be stormy. Sunday, I’m outside working on the pool. Time to get it ready for some swimming.
I read some good books this week. And I’m all wrapped up in The Terror, that new series on television. Is anyone watching it? What do you think so far? I could swear it’s based on a book I started but never finished. Now to find it in my stacks and see if I’m right. It’s a super huge paperback.
I figured I’d give Flora a break. She’s tired of having to grow for the camera. LOL Really though, it was raining and super windy so I couldn’t get a good new pic of her. Will share next week. For now, here’s my partner in crime, Quigley.
He’s all snuggled up between a stack of pillows, trying to act like I’m not taking his picture, but I see the ear pulled back and the white of his eye. LOL
And last week I shared about my Sega Palm’s starting to grow.
This is actually one of my smaller segas and the little spikes sure have grown. They are so soft right now.
And the banana trees are thriving!
Also, this plant comes back every year. I don’t know the name of it. Came with the house. They get this gorgeous flower and then tall leaf fronds that look like corn stalks after the bloom fades. As it blooms, it’s one flower on top of the other and kind of looks like a pink coconut. You can see the other stalks peeking out of the ground all around this one.
If anyone knows what this is, I’d love to hear from you!
Thatās all folks.
Have a fabulousĀ Sunday!

You always have a bunch of books and a few good freebies that I can grab. š Love the pic of your doggy! I’ve wanted a banana tree for forever. I should look to see if I could grow one here. Have a great week!

I don’t go many places besides work and errands so I spend some time trolling for new books and authors. Always have been an avid reader:) Quig is trying so hard to be nonchalant. LOL I love my banana trees. They are so tropical and you don’t have to do much with them. Just watch them grow.
Love the plants. I miss living in the south with all my tropical plants. 3-day weekends are lovely. I think they should be mandatory. Have a great week!
It was funny. I moved to the new house and when I cleaned up the yard and beds all these new plants popped up. Some I got rid of as they were invasive, but some others I kept. I need to find out what they are. LOL It was a nice long weekend and yes, they should all be that way!
Aw cute pic! Quigley looks comfy. Nice to see the plants doing well. š
I’m gonna start the Terror soon, it sounds good?
Enjoy the long weekend!
Yep, Quigley never misses a snuggle opportunity. LOL The Terror is dark and full of atmosphere. I’m really liking it.
Your palms look gorgeous! I wish it was warm enough to have some here…
And wow, you got even more books than me this week – that’s quite a feat š
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Everything is thriving. After the storm last night it turned cool and blustery today. Perfect for finishing the yard work but not so good for working on the pool. It will have to wait another week. I thought I did good not to grab all the freebies I shared. LOL
The plants fo look great! I would like to know what the flower is too, its beaitful! Enjoy all your new books with Quigley too. Happy Reading.
I’m going to the local nursery and showing them the picture to find out what it is. It really looks gorgeous when it is in full bloom!
I haven’t seen the Terror, but it sounds good! Glad your garden is doing great!
Hereās my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this weekās Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!
The Terror is good. Still trying to figure out what exactly is stalking them. It’s very vicious and cunning.
Quigley is very cute! I’ve got a few Nicholas Sansbury Smith books that I need to get to…
He’s my buddy! Getting up there in years so he gets spoiled. LOL Smith has some other series I’m going to read next. I really like the action and characters in his stories.
I have been watching The Terror but I think it’s a tad bit boring…lol. It’s based on a book by Dan Simmons I think called The Terror. I still need to watch last week’s episode.
Quigley is so cute! š
Have a great week and happy reading!!

Week in Review
I enjoy the character dynamics in The Terror. And I just now found the book. I knew I had it! Bought it at a used book store some time ago.
Glad you managed to get a long weekend – and I can see why you’d need it with everything growing so madly right now. That banana is doing really well – I managed to keep one alive for a couple of years in the early noughties when we had a run of hot summers and mild winters – a distant dream, now! I hope you’re having a great Sunday, Laura:)
I spent a lot of the weekend cleaning, doing yard work and reading. I love the long weekends. Banana trees are so tropical and easy to tend. I enjoy watching them grow. They get above the roof line in no time.
Your dog is so cute! Love the vegetation photos. I just got back from San Diego and being from Minnesota I need all the reminders I can get that plants and flowers do exist:) #thesundaypost
Yeah, Quig is a charmer. LOL Ooh, Minnesota. Very chilly. I’ll try to send some spring your way:)
Aw sweet baby. What a darling face. Hope yall had a great weekend so far š
Those puppy dog eyes! LOL
Oh Quigley is cute!! And the banana plant is looking good! Enjoy your books!
I can’t resist when he looks at me. Spoil him rotten. LOL He’s also a good listener when I’m drafting reviews.
It was stormy here, too. š Yay, for long weekends, though! I really want to watch The Terror, but I haven’t read it yet.
Nice and sunny but chilly today. Those thunderstorms get scary. Why do they always come in at night. LOL I knew that The Terror sounded familiar. I dug out the book from my shelves and plan to read it after the show.
I’m curious about How to Survive Your Sisters. I understand about Flora’s shyness…LOL.
Thanks for sharing Sega, though.
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I love reading books about sisters. Especially funny ones. Yeah, gave Flora the week off. LOL
Your plants are looking so great! I’m horrible at plants but my mom might know what the pink one is – I’ll ask her and let you know if she does. It’s certainly pretty and I’m curious to see what it looks like fully grown.
Hope you have a great week!
Thanks, Berls. I’m going to check at the local nursery too. I’ll keep sharing pictures as it grows. Hope it has a cool name. LOL
I am so jealous you had a day off. I didn’t work a full week the entire month of March due to doctor’s appointments, snow, and holidays. April has been cruel! Quigley looks so cute and cozy in that picture.
We have a small crew at work and all put in extra time all week to have the long weekend. It was so nice:) Quigley is a big sweetie. He’s not much for posing for pics though. LOL
You have the cutest doggo š your palms look amazing! We went to the garden on Saturday (it’s actually a plot of land outside town) and things are still very slow there, not much going on. A few flowers peeping out and the grass is being all shy. But it’s spring alright š finally!
Yep. The first flowers and hints of green and then, POOF! Everything just grows like crazy:) Quigley is a cutie. I thought he looked so sweet. Just his head peeking out of a pile of pillows:)
I picked up a few of those freebies. They look intriguing š And your pup is so cute!
I have a lot of fun browsing the freebies. I try to found a little bit of everything for different tastes. The hard thing is not grabbing all of them myself. LOL
I picked up some of those freebies too. I hope you had a nice long weekend. The doggy pics are so cute. Have a great week!
Thanks, Yvonne. And enjoy the freebies:)
Woohoo for the long weekend! I could really have done with one of those this weekend… I have weekend envy. š
Have a great week!
It was much needed. I unwound, got a few things done and just did what I felt like doing.
Such a cute pic of your dog! Your plants are thriving. I love that last one with the flower. Enjoy your new books. I like the look of My Fair Lily.
The only freebies I couldn’t find were horror. Slim pickings there. LOL Quig is happy and comfy. Looks almost like he did as a pup in this picture.
Wish we could think about opening the pool. It was snowing and sleeting here again today!
I can’t get over this weird winter. It’s blustery and cool here. What’s with the snow!
I couldn’t resist, I had to go grab Carnival of Fear. It sounded too good to pass up. I adore your partner in crime – how cuddly. It was nice and warm Friday and Saturday but now it’s 42 and supposed to snow tonight!
It’s a steal at the price too! I grabbed it also. I can’t believe you’re getting snow. Crasy weather!
You have very cool plants, and the dog is adorable. There are a few flowers on my pear tree right now. I guess that means spring is coming. Everything else is still dead. Have a great week.
I love spring. Everything is blooming and so much green!
Aw! Quigley’s such a handsome boy!
He is indeed!
Hi Quigley! You are adorbs š
Thanks! Mom caught my good side. LOL
I did start watch The Terror and fell asleep several times but I have been exhausted lately so it doesn’t really mean anything. The little I watched seemed really good! My husband loves it! ohhh I’ll miss Flora! LOL
It’s slow moving, I agree. Last nights episode was the best yet.
Ahh Quigley is so sweet. I wish I could get out and plant my baskets, still too wet and rainy. Hoping some sun is the forecast, I am ready for everything to really come alive.
He was a stray dumped in my yard. Now a family member and spoiled rotten. LOL I’m debating on whether to do hanging baskets this year. The sun is brutal here and lots of time burns up the flowers. They need to be watered a lot and it gets tiring trying to keep them going.
Wow great reading week and your garden reminds me of the one we had in Portugal when I lived there more than 20 years ago š Your old dog is a cutie too!
I;m lucky that most of my plants take care of themselves. A tropical climate helps with that. LOL
Oooh, Thrree Strikes, You’re Dead rec’d a Crowned Heart in this month’s magazine. Glad you confirm it’s a goodun. I hope you got the pool ready. š
I’ve been enjoying the Eddie Shoes series. They sure keep ya entertained:)
My husband is loving The Terror too! I haven’t watched it yet but am planning to give it a try. Love the picture of Quigley! He has such a sweet face even as he’s ignoring the camera. Hope you’re having a great week!
The latest episode cranked up the action. I’m getting more into it now. Yeah, Quigley tries to act so cool. LOL
Aww… Quigley! So sweet. Sorry I am posting just now. My comments wouldn’t post last week for some reason, the link kept timing out. I’m happy I am good to go this week. ššš
He’s such a sweetie and so spoiled. I had that comment thing happen a lot last week. Wonder why?
