This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~~~~~
Some chit chat.
After a week and a half without internet it sure is good to be back. Sure makes me appreciate it more. Though, once I got used to not having it at home, I did kind of enjoy the down time. Read a bunch of books, watched some movies, and did a buddy read with my son.
Tropical Storm Alberta threatened my area but then moved east of us. Just got a lot of rain for a couple of days. Another  opportunity to do some reading. LOL
The weather is gorgeous but steamy hot! We hit triple digits in the heat index and looks like more of the same nest week. Sure makes me appreciate the pool!
That’s all for this week.
Have a fabulous  Sunday!
  1. Your books look great…and I am still imagining being without the Internet for that long…and then I think about how we lived just fine without it for many years. LOL.
    Enjoy your week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It was hard to not have it at first. Then I found so many things I wanted to do with that time. LOL Sure glad it’s back though:)
  2. Greg Hill says:
    Glad the storm missed you with the worst of it, anyway. Triple digit heat indexes though- yikes! You WOULD need a pool even to go outside lol!
    Over Raging Tides looks interesting! Hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It’s kind of scary to have a storm that early. We are long overdue for a hurricane. Yikes! And I wouldn’t be outdoors in the summer without my pool. LOL I won Over Raging Tides along with two other books and they all look fun.
  3. Literary Feline says:
    I am glad you didn’t get the worst of the storm. I would be unhappy with internet, but admit I would enjoy the time away to spend doing other things–like reading. I can appreciate that. 🙂 We have been talking about getting our pool set up now that the weather is warming up. We aren’t in triple digits yet, fortunately, but high nineties are expected this week. Your new books all look good! I wouldn’t mind reading them all myself. I hope you have a great week, Laura!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I didn’t have a shortage of books to read while it was down. LOL The pool is delightful. I have to make myself get out!
  4. Maree Jane says:
    It’s amazing what you can get done with no internet access, isn’t it? Have a great week 🙂
  5. Andreea P. says:
    No Internet is a scary thing to even think about, but at least there’s more time for reading, right? Enjoy your new books and thank you for sharing the freebies!
  6. Some downtime can be good 🙂 that’s cool that you did a buddy read with your son. And the weather has been hot here too! I’m kind of enjoying it though, even if we don’t have an AC (that part can get tough).
    Have a great week, Laura 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It’s so humid here I wouldn’t survive without AC. LOL I did enjoy the downtime. Just inconvenient that I wasn’t planning it:)
  7. Jenea says:
    The new books look great! You can sure keep your triple digit heat indexes. I remember growing up in Florida and how hot it could be. Hope you have a wonderful week. And yay for internet again. 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I read some good books while the internet was down. I look at the pool as a survival thing. LOL It’s nice to take a dip and cool down between outdoor work and reading.
  8. It’s not bad to enjoy some downtime but I am sure it would have gotten to me after a while! 🙂 Especially since watching TV for me means having internet to stream it. 🙂 I am glad the hurricane missed you. We have been pretty hot here and had one day where the heat index was 102 blah. First of next week a tiny cool down into the low 80’s then back to 90’s by mid week. I want spring!
    Have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I missed Netflix and On Demand. Some of my shows didn’t recorded! It’s good to be back and now I have to get to blogging ahead again. Just came in from cleaning flower beds and swimming. Time for a nap?? LOL
  9. I loved Daughter of the Pirate King. I see a few others, I might need to check out that look great! Glad you got your internet back, my kids would go insane. It was so hot here we have a town pool when we visit the shore house that we go to but none at our house. Our yard is too small for one but today is like 68 and windy. Such weird weather.
    Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading! 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I won Daughter of the Pirate King and a couple others. They all sound like fun. My son went nuts without the internet for a bit but then we enjoyed doing other things together. I just enjoyed a nice long float in the pool:) Really muggy out and hot!
  10. hillary says:
    i want to read daughter of the pirate king.. My library had a million holds so it will be awhile lol.
  11. I love Denise Swanson and I’ve heard good things about Daughter of a Pirate King. Try to stay cool. It’s fin ally reasonable here today. First time in days.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I have some great books to read and some new authors too! I plan to spend many mornings out by the pool enjoying all of them:)
  12. We got some of the rain and dreariness of the tropical storm up here but thankfully no strong weather like was originally predicted. Yay for having the internet back up though it is a little startling to realize just how much time is spent on it! I’ve had to go without a few times and it was shocking. Have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I was surprised that Alberto held together enough to reach all the way up north. A weird storm and now I worry about this hurricane season. We are way overdue for some.
  13. I love hot weather so I think I live in the wrong country! Can’t imagine not having Internet access as I’d be unable to work, but when you have no choice the downtime can be exhilarating.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      LOL We have plenty of steamy hot weather here! I love tropical climates and can’t imagine living any where else:)
  14. No internet?! I couldn’t survive! When the wifi goes out at work its like a state of emergency.
    Triple digits is too warm for me. Plus the humidity? Icky! (I say this as I am packing for Jamaica….)
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I freaked at first. Then I grudgingly accepted my fate. LOL The heat I handle fine, the humidity not so much. That’s why I have a pool. LOL
  15. Over Raging Tides has a great cover! 📚
    We had a couple high 90s days, but I didn’t have to go out in it, so it was okay. It is a goid thing you have the pool! 🏊
    It’s a good thing you have pre-scheduled posts. I’d be sunk because I pants all of my posts. Have a wonderful week. 🌞
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I love the cover too. And I hear the book is thrilling also. I used to pants my posts. We get some nasty weather here and the internet can go down at any time so now I schedule most posts.
  16. You’re in Florida huh? I’m in the Caribbean, still traumatized by last season, so when I saw the news of Alberta heralding another hurricane season it was just too soon. But glad to see you guys dodged it and that you got some reading in.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m less than an hour away from Pensacola in Alabama. I feel the same. A storm already. Doesn’t bode well for this hurricane season.
  17. northwoman says:
    You have some great looking books there. I love that cover on Tales of Wychwood and I usually don’t care about those things. I can’t imagine a week without Internet. Luckily my phone has unlimited data for quick stuff, but I’d need to go to the library or coffee shop for blog posting or that kind of thing. Anne – Books of My Heart
  18. Kathy_A says:
    It’s good to hear the storm passed you by and I hope the weather cools down. Our internet has been spotty and it’s frustrating. But I do get more reading done because of it lol. I hope you enjoy your new books (I really liked the Daughter of the Pirate King) and have a great week!
  19. I’m sorry about the downtime and the weather, but yay for more reading! 🙂
  20. Sometimes when my internet is down, I usually spend some time reading. It’s a great pastime! Lots of great books you got here!! Hope you have a nice week!
    Here’s my Sunday Post!
    Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
  21. A Renfro says:
    Glad you got your Internet sorted out. Amazing how much we use it these days. Also glad the storm missed you. We got some rain from it up here, but that was about it. Stay cool. And enjoy the pool.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I was a happy camper when my internet was fixed. Still reading a lot, and enjoying the pool too.
  22. Heidi says:
    Ugh no internet and triple digit steamy temps, that doesn’t sound too fun. I hope you spent lots of time in your pool. Yeah for the Pirate King’s Daughter.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Looks like a lot of people enjoyed Daughter of the Pirate King. Makes me more excited to read it. And the pool is delicious on the hot and steamy days.
  23. Enjoy the pool! I hate hot weather, so I wish I had one of those. I’m glad you enjoyed your Internet-free time. I rarely miss it when it’s gone. Have a good week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I love hot weather. Don’t do cold well at all. LOL So I try not to complain when it gets sweltering.
  24. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:
    Lots of cozy mysteries this week! Glad you got spared by the tropical storm. So crazy that they started so early this year!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Yep, it’s the time of year for cozies by the pool:) Got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for another calm hurricane season for this area.
  25. I’m still having trouble getting into the groove………..
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I noticed you haven’t been around much. Here’s to finding that mojo again. Until then, don’t worry. Relax and enjoy your free time:)
  26. kozbisa says:
    I am glad the storm missed you guys. I lived in FL for 6 years, and waiting for the storms to turn was so stressful. I am a big fan of Pirate King. I hope you enjoy it.
  27. Glad to see you back online!
