This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

This has been a busy week for me. I’ve been writing a bunch of reviews for my October feature. I know have 18 written out of 31.  I’ve also been watching some horror shows and movies as I hope to include them in my feature too. I’m surprised I haven’t had any nightmares….yet!

Other than that, it’s been work and heat. The temps are back into the 90s and I’m still squeezing in some pool time. I’ve especially been enjoying the pool right before dark. The water is silky and warm. I stay in so long that I feel like a tea bag in a hot cuppa. LOL Delicious!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. The Benedict Jacka series is one of the many I need to catch up with next year! I really enjoyed the first book so I’m looking forward to seeing where the series goes!

  2. sjhigbee says:

Ooo… you’re in for a fabulous treat! The Benedict Jacka series is fabulous – I need to crack on and catch up, though as I’ve fallen a bit behind.

I love the idea of you steeping in the pool like a large teabag… not that I’m in any way jealous, you understand! Though you can keep those temperatures in the 90s. We are currently experiencing another wet and windy offering, so a BIT of your heat would be welcome! Have a great week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m so excited to try the series and I have them all to read back to back. Feel very lucky:) I do feel like a soggy tea bag when I get out. My legs are so heavy from floating in the warm water. LOL We have another blistering hot week coming up but might get some cooler temps and a chance of rain this coming weekend. Sure could use it.

  3. kozbisa says:

You wrote 18 reviews in one week? You are a superhero. It was almost 90 here yesterday. BOO! I can’t wait to get out of NJ and hit some cooler weather this week. Good luck with all the posts and I hope you enjoy all the books you won. Holy cow! I am curious about Winterwood. I enjoyed the author’s debut, and hope to read that one.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I made myself sit down, turn off the telly, and write! Took some time out to work eat and sleep though. LOL Don’t want to miss this last blast of summer and pool time:)

  4. Tammy says:

I recognize some of those books😉 And wow, looks like you won an entire series! Congrats😁

  5. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

Do you get nightmares after horror books/shows? I do too. And 18 reviews in a week is no mean feat. Wow, I am so proud of you. I hope you have a great week ahead.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I don’t get a lot of nightmares, but when I do, they are doozies. LOL I’m now working on some more reviews. I need to do 31 for October! Do it every year and it’s a lot of work but fun too:)

  6. You have 18 reviews written!?! I am usually finishing one the night before its due. I’m so jealous!!! I also wish I had a pool. Its in the 90’s here and I am DONE!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I started writing them in September as I knew it would be a lot of work. Probably why I didn’t share many reviews for this month. LOL

  7. Liliana says:

18 scheduled posts is impressive! I think I have like 5 posts scheduled for next month? Lol. I was going to sit down and work on some reviews yesterday, but I ended up watching the Scream series, so that was great 🙄 Lol.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Those are just my October feature scheduled posts. I have many more for tours and review requests. This is always a busy month for me. And I plan to binge the Scream show for October!

  8. I am not loving the 90s but I’m impressed you found time to write reviews and go to the pool and you always work a lot too! Congrats on your win – I hope you really enjoy the books! I have a lot of catchup to do because whenever I am sort of caught up I read a library book and then I’m scrambling again.

    Have an amazing week!

  9. Carole says:

Wow! You hit the giveaway jackpot! So many awesome books to read 🙂 We closed our pool but my favorite time to use it is at night when its really hot. I am kind of ready for all this hot to go away for a bit though. I hope you have a great week!

  10. Beware Of The Reader says:

OMG Laura I just want to soak in your pool with you!!!!! Coming! 😉

  11. Summer temperatures have long since fled here! We’ve had nothing but rain and wind and cold. 🙁 I don’t mind too much as I love autumn but it was a quick switch this year!

Good luck with the rest of your posts for October!

  12. Yay for horror movies and shows! I’ve been watching a lot of horror movies myself!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  13. Greg says:

I always liked swimming in the evening, if we were up north or on vacation- so relaxing. And 18 of 31 so far is pretty great! Sounds like your October feature is gonna be fun. 🙂

  14. That was an awesome giveaway – congrats on the win! I won a few books of off Goodreads this past week and am waiting for them to arrive. Seems I always win in threes and this time was no different. Glad you are still getting to enjoy your pool. It’s supposed to be in the 90s a lot this week here as well. Hope you have a wonderful week and bring on the horror!

  15. fabulous wins. hope you enjoy them all…when you get a chance to read them 🙂

  16. Bels says:

I don’t do scary well, so I’m sure I’d be having some nightmares! Sounds like you’re in good shape for your feature though 🙂

The pool at night is the best! I miss having a private pool where I could do that – we live in apartments now and it closes at 8… plus it’s full of kids. Someday maybe. Enjoy!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve always loved scary books so this is my time of year! LOL And the pool is wonderful. My son has started getting in at night with me. We used to do that when he was younger and it’s nice to have him do it again now.

  17. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

I’m so jealous that you get to use your pool so far into the fall. That’s so nice!
