Searching: Dragons Of New York
by Rachel Graves
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Synopsis
A dragon terrified of being discovered by the government, Ravenna Drake is constantly on the move. When the woman who raised her gets cancer, Ravenna trades her nomadic work restoring black market magical goods for a steady job. But her cautious life ends after her name is found at the scene of a werewolf murder.
Dr. Ian Chen, a sorcerer bonded to a powerful relic, works for the government treating supernatural citizens. He insists on investigating when his patientโs body is discovered completely drained of blood. His search leads him to the beautiful but frustrating Ravenna Drake, who refuses to stay away from the case or follow his instructions.
As more bloodless bodies surface, threats from secret societies and corrupt politicians force the dragon and the sorcerer to work together. If Ravenna and Ian canโt catch the killer, the people they love the most may be the next to die.

Enjoy this peek inside:
He wanted to pry more of the story out of her but decided against it. As she followed him down the block, they blended into the small crowd on the street. Ian watched the people around them for a second. Normal people, with no idea my world even exists.
She broke the silence, โYou know this neighborhood?โ
โThere was a gang that recruited a witch. He wasnโt that powerful but he knew how to use sacrifices to call a demon. It took me a while to figure it out.โ Ian shivered with the memory of living fire, a monster in the shape of flame. He could work with dead bodies but remembering the smell of burned corpses would always be a problem.
โI thought you didnโt like the word witch.โ
He glanced at her expression of wide-eyed innocence. It had to be fake. โThis guy, he wasnโt doing much. Calling him a sorcerer would be a bit of an insult to the real ones.โ
โNot that you know any real ones.โ She smiled up at him. Why were they playing this game? She probably wasnโt the murderer, if she was, she knew what he was. Why not just come clean?
Cloak answered the question as if heโd been asked, โThen tell her about the BPA.โ
โRight, that was why.โ Because once she knew who she was helping, sheโd probably stop. The BPA wasnโt popular with all the people they protected, and even the non-paranormal citizens seemed to think his agency was either evil or a scam. Heโd say enough to get her help, but leave things vague enough to keep her, and the investigation, safe.

Gorgeous cover, love it!
Thanks, Jolanda! I’ve been lucky to find an amazing artist and a great model.
Fabulous cover
I agree, the cover is stunning. I do like dragons.
Thanks, Mary! I’m a big fan of dragons too. One of the reasons I wrote this book was the frustrating lack of female dragons in PR. I got bored of all damsel in distress saved by a dark brooding dragon hero plots. It was fun to create a story where both halves of the couple ended up in distress and they saved each other. ๐
Good morning, Laura! Thank you for sharing my book with your readers!
Thanks for hosting!
Love the cover.
Thank you! I know I got lucky with the perfect combination of artist and model.
Captivating and entertaining. Beautiful artwork.
Thanks, Anne! I hope you’ll find the book just as captivating.
I love the cover, synopsis and sneak peek, this is a must read for me and I am looking forward to it. Thank you for sharing your bio and book details
Well you know that’s music to my ears. Thank you! I hope you’ll give it a try and tell me what you think.
I really enjoyed the peek inside Searching, which sounds like my kind of dragons!

Really nice cover and excerpt, looking forward to reading this.
Thanks you! I hope you’ll let me know if you like it!
Rachel Graves has the best-looking book covers. her books are great too.
Aww that’s sweet of you to say!
what got you into writing? also I love the cover and concept for the book!
Thanks for that great question! I got into writing because I complain too much! A friend had recommended a popular series. It didn’t live up to the hype, and I ranted about it for days. Eventually, my friend dared me to “do better, and try to write your own book!” That was 16 years ago, and I’ve written 13 books since. ๐
Sounds like a book I would enjoy reading. Thanks for the chance.
You’re welcome! And good luck!
Now that is a mighty fine looking dragon. ๐
sherry @ fundinmental
Thanks, Sherry! I know an author shouldn’t have favorites, but that’s my favorite character in all of the books. ๐
I would have loved to have gone to PEMโs Eerie Events, Haunted Histories.
I bet that was fun and interesting.
It was a blast! I’m a huge fan of historic tours around Halloween. If you’re ever in Atlanta the Capturing the Spirit tours at Oakland cemetery are a similar event that shouldn’t be missed.
This cover is gorgeous! Book sounds great too!
Thanks! I hope you’ll check it out!
AUTHOR HOW DO YOU HANDLE WRITERS BLOCK?
Thanks for that great question! Generally, I try to write around it. I’ll write descriptive paragraphs about what I’m seeing, or general scenes that can be edited later. There’s also a lot of medicinal caffeine and chocolate.
Gorgeous cover! The plot sounds really interesting.
