A Cat Lady Mystery
by Linda Reilly
Genre: Cozy Mystery
204 pages
Here, killer, killer, killer . . .
For the first time in sixteen years, Lara Caphart has returned to her
hometown of Whisker Jog, New Hampshire. She wants to reconnect with
her estranged Aunt Fran, who’s having some difficulty looking after
herself—and her eleven cats. Taking care of a clowder of kitties is
easy, but keeping Fran from being harassed by local bully Theo Barnes
is hard. The wealthy builder has his sights set on Fran’s property,
and is determined to make her an offer she doesn’t dare refuse.

Then Lara spots a blue-eyed ragdoll cat that she swears is the
reincarnation of her beloved Blue, her childhood pet. Pursuing the
feline to the edge of Fran’s yard, she stumbles upon the body of
Theo Barnes, clearly a victim of foul play. To get her and Fran off
the suspect list, Lara finds herself following the cat’s clues in
search of a killer. Is Blue’s ghost really trying to help her solve
a murder, or has Lara inhaled too much catnip?

Armed with a degree in Criminal Justice, Linda Reilly once contemplated a
career in law enforcement. But life took a twist, and instead she
found her niche in real estate closings and title examinations, where
the dusty tomes in the Registry of Deeds enticed her into solving
mysteries of a different sort. A dyed-in-the-wool New Englander,
Linda lives in New Hampshire with her husband, who affectionately
calls her “Nose-in-a-Book.” A member of Sisters in Crime
and Mystery Writers of America, she loves solving mysteries of the
cozy type. When she’s not pounding away at her keyboard, she can
usually be found prowling the shelves of a local bookstore or
library.

I do love a cozy mystery.
Me too. I’m a cozy addict. LOL
i love a cozy, too!
I love cozies, too!
I am always curious how much input an author has on the cover. Do you get final approval, Linda? Hope you are having a great holiday.

In my experience, the publisher asks the author for ideas, but they generally do what they think is best as decided by their marketing team. Even if the cover is different from what I anticipated, I’ve loved every one of mine.
I love the title and the cover! 😻
I know. It’s so darn cute!
It’s fun, but challenging, to come up with good titles. The publisher helps a lot.
I love the oversized cat mug! And is it really a ‘clowder’?? That’s the coolest name! Well, not quite the coolest, because I think a kindle of kittens is cuter, but it’s close!
I love the names they give to groups of animals, like a Murder of Crows or a Kindness of Ravens. A Kindle of Kittens is too adorable!
A murder of crows is my favorite ~
The mug is really quite adorable, made in China but designed in England. Yes, a batch of kitties is a clowder!
I like a murder of crows too. Just recently learned about a kindness of ravens. The mug looks fun!
I just love this cover!
So do I! And I’m always game for a new cozy:)
Good luck in the giveaway!
Thanks! I love the cover, too.
Ahhh that looks good. And the herd kitties approve of the cover kitteh. lol
I’m not a huge fan of cats. More of a dog person. When my sister passed away, I took in her cat. Sheba quickly won me over and was Queen of the household. I recently lost her to cancer. She lived for almost 24 years. I swear I still see her fluffy black tail slipping around a corner. Now I’m a kitty fan too:)
It sounds as if Escape Claws is the perfect cozy for you!
Hugs to the herd kitties ~
Not a big cat fan either but it looks like a good book.
It’s interesting; I’ve had several people who weren’t wild about cats tell me they were enchanted by the cats in Escape Claws.
Great cover! I really like reading cozies featuring animals in the storyline.
Hope you’ll like this one!
congrats on the tour and thanks for the chance to win 🙂
The book sounds like a good read! I love cozy mysteries with animals!
