Welcome to my Monday Minis where I share shorter reviews of books I’ve read.
I figured it was time to return to some more great apocalyptic scenarios and this series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith was saved in my Amazon cart. I one clicked and got started.

Trackers
Trackers #1
by Nicholas Sansbury Smith
Genre: Apocalyptic / Post Apocalyptic
My Review
I loved Smith’s Hell Divers series. I already read the first two books and pre-ordered the third one. While waiting for its release I figured I’d check out what else he had to offer and the Trackers series immediately caught my attention.
I love a good apocalyptic story. The world falls apart. People do horrific and/or courageous things to survive. Good guys do bad, bad guys do good. It’s an epic struggle to carve out a place in the new world.
What scared me the most was how real this felt. This wasn’t about zombies or a flu epidemic decimating our country. It was EMPs taking out our power grid and crippling our way of life.
Smith does an amazing job of dropping you into hell. His characters are genuine. I quickly formed some strong connections with many of them. Including one heroic dog. Even though many made some mistakes, I hung on every word, hoping they’d make it through some bad situations as things imploded.
If you’re looking for some apocalyptic and post apocalyptic stories, look no further. This author brings it.

Synopsis
The end of the world is just the beginning of the hunt….
Estes Park police chief Marcus Colton and tracker Sam “Raven” Spears have never liked one another, but when a young girl goes missing in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colton hires Spears to help find her. Their search ends after a night of devastating horror. When word reaches Estes that the nation has been hit by a coordinated electromagnetic pulse attack, Colton and Spears are forced to work together again. But they quickly realize they aren’t just tracking a killer – they are tracking a madman. As the United States descends into chaos, the hunters become the hunted.
Halfway across the country, Senator Charlize Montgomery awakes to find the nation’s capital has gone dark. Forced to set off on foot, she treks across a city that has woken to a new world, and as the night progresses she learns the EMP attack was just the beginning.

I loved his Extinction zombie series and have the first books in this Trackers series and Hell Divers still to read. Orbs was ok but not really my thing.
I found s of his Extinction series. I’m almost done with the final Trackers book and plan on starting them next. The Orbs series didn’t grab me either.
Wow, this sounds like a good read and I really like the cover. I really should pick up Hell Divers. I own the first one after seeing Daniela rave about it so much. Great review.
Between Daniela and Chuckles, I’ve had some great reads!
I wondered about these books. Glad you are loving them.
I was lucky and caught sales for both series from his newsletter. I love these and I bet you would too, Sherry!
This sounds like fun, I’ll have to keep the series in mind 🙂
I went from one book to the next, to the next and now on the last one. I can’t see how the author will wrap it up either! I’m loving these.
Oooh, this does sound like a good post apocalyptic read! Glad you enjoyed it!
I like how it all began and now I’m curious how it all ends!
This sounds like a good series, I am going to add it to my wishlist. 🙂
I loved these, Stormi. I just finished the last one. I’m pretty sure its the last in the series but I can see where the author could go another way and do some spin offs that would be good too. The ending has me thinking that anyway.
