I had this great idea for a topic to discuss and Forgot it! LOL

I can’t believe it. I was lying in bed, and this great idea came to me. I practically wrote it in my head. Thinking, surely I won’t forget this, I didn’t bother to jot down any notes. Now, it’s been several days, and I still can’t remember what the idea was!

Have you ever had that happen? I’ve had it happen while reading a book. I have this great thought to put in a review and then don’t write it down. Wake up in the morning and no clue what I was thinking the night before. So now I keep a notepad and pen by my bed. I even keep pen and paper handy in my car, just in case I think of something awesome.

But did I use it the other night when I had my epiphany? Nope! And it’s driving me nuts. LOL

Not much new has happened this week. I do have a lot of new books to share with you.

Somebody needs to come up with a way to hardwire a computer to our brain and when great ideas come to us, these need to be stored on this computer. Get busy, people!

  2. It’s SO frustrating to have a great idea and then forget all about it 🙁 The same thing happened to me not long ago, I finally had a good and original idea for something to do on my blog, and the next morning *poof* it was all gone.
You got some great-looking books this week, Laura! I hope you’ll enjoy all of them 🙂
    Have a fantastic week.

Sometimes I even get out of bed and go write it down. I can’t believe I didn’t do that this time! Still don’t remember.

  3. bluekaren says:

Nice haul! Thanks for the free book links. You rock!
I for get things all the time, don’t feel bad.

  4. So I do that so often it’s annoying lol. I always have the best ideas in the middle of the night or when I am in the shower. Always a time I can’t write it down.

You got a lot of great books this week! I hope you enjoy them all! Have a great week Laura!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s funny how I’m always thinking. The worst is when I’m driving. I do have pen and pad and write while driving. The notes are almost unreadable as I write without looking. LOL

  5. I don’t do many discussion posts so I haven’t done that with a topic but I’ve definitely done that with a Top Ten List. There have been plenty of times where I had almost the whole list written in my head and than just gone. Hate when it happens! Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Cafe sounds adorable. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

What’s strange is I still don’t remember. Usually I can at least remember the topic and a little bit of what I wanted to say.

  6. Lola says:

That’s so frustrating if you forget something you wanted to discuss. I usually believe I can remember something as well and when I forget it’s so frustrating. Sometimes it’s better to just write it down I guess.

You got some nice looking books this week. I see lots of christmas stories in there ;). I am looking forward to your review of A League of Her Own, I really enjoyed that book!

And thanks so much for linking to my post about blurbs!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You’d think I’d know better. I guess I was too tired to get out of bed and find pen and paper.
I enjoyed A League Of Her Own too. Now and then I need an easy reading romance to get lost in.

  7. As soon as I think of a discussion post I write it.. a ruff draft. Even if it’s at night. I just up write some notes on it and THEN go to bed. Other wise I continue thinking about it through the night. I thought about reading some Christmas reads this month but then I am going to push back the series I want to read again and my mission is to finish it!! Happy Sunday!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I must have been too tired to get up. LOL I won’t run out of paper next to my bed again!
I’ve just finished several holiday reads and am busy writing the reviews now.

  8. Wow, what a great assortment of books, all new to me! Enjoy!

And yes, I forget almost everything these days if I don’t write it down….LOL

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have such fun with this post and take some time to find a diverse selection of freebies to share.
I read all over the map with genres. LOL

  9. Ghost Inn looks good. Hope that you enjoy and have a good week.

  10. Greg says:

I’ve had that happen, and it’s frustrating. I’ve actually gotten up now and went out and scrawled something down- didn’t occur to me to have a pen by the bed. Your books all look good, some mysteries, some Christmas stuff… hope you had a good weekend, and have a nice week.

  11. Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace says:

Yes! I know exactly what you mean! I think of awesome stuff to put in reviews and forget all the time!
Enjoy your new reads! Loads there to choose from and some fun festive ones!

Thanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!

  12. yvonne473 says:

Ooohh…all those mysteries and Christmas books look so good! Enjoy them!

  13. Great looking reads! I hate it when the idea thing happens and then you go to capture it and wha….. 🙂

  14. Wow! You had an awesome week! I’ll have to try these books!

  15. Ha, you almost sucked me there but I did not click on any freebies this time…lol. 🙂 Enjoy your new reads!

    Stormi

  16. That happens to me at least three times a day. I forget why I went up or downstairs, then I go back up or down and remember why I had. FOrtunately I usually remember on the second pass!

  17. Oh my goodness that happens to me all the time and not just about the blogging it can be while I’m shopping and I think “oh yes I need that and I start heading in that direction and lose my train of thought in the process and forget what I needed” LOL I guess it happens when you have a million things going through you head.
    Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know what you mean. I thin the most common is writing a grocery list and then forgetting to bring it. LOL

  18. Hah! That forgetting topics used to always happen to me. But now as soon as they come into my head, I just grab my phone and jot down a few keywords. Up your idea comes back to you!

  19. atothewr says:

I don’t know how many times I had a great dream or idea in the middle of the night only to wake up and realize I didn’t remember it anymore. Happens more than I like. What have I been reading this week? A Christmas Carol – never read it and I wish I had.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Been there. Done that! I don’t recall ever reading the book. Funny, as I’ve read retellings. Might have to read it. Tis the season…:)

  20. Great haul! Love all the Christmas books–I really should get a few to jump-start my Christmas season.

I really relate to writing things down–I have to do this whenever I’m reading a book I plan to review. My inspired thoughts are so fleeting that I’d never remember them otherwise.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I need to get some of my Christmas reviews posted now:)
I think our brains are so over loaded. That’s why we can’t retain things. We think too much. LOL

  21. katarguelles says:

I think of things to say in my reviews and it sounds so perfect but I forget it all when it goes to writing it down! This always happens when I am driving (usually when I’m stuck in traffic). I should figure out how to use my voice memos on my phone because that would help! You got a lot of great books, happy reading and have a great week!!

  22. Emma says:

It often happens to me. Something pops in my head and I think, “that’s great, I’ll sort that later”, and then I forget. Best thing to do, write it down straight away, even it’s just typing it on your phone rather than in a notepad.
The title Cycles and the cover are intriguing me.

  23. Valeria says:

I hate when stuff like that happen to me. I use an app in my phone to write ideas down, and has worked pretty well for now. Hopefully, next time you will indeed remember to write it down.

  24. You have a busy week planned. I hate that when I have a brilliant idea and then I forget it. I try and write down all my topics and such when they pop in my head. Hope you remember it soon.

  25. Haha, forgetting ideas happens to me all the time! Especially with ideas for blog posts or plot ideas for my writings. You’ll be like, no way I’m forgetting this, it’s perfect and makes so much sense. And then you do forget it.

    Hope you enjoy your books!

  26. That happens to me all the time! Like you said, mostly when I’m reading a book, I’ll think of something to mention in the review and then completely forget! I’m an aspiring writer too and I do that same thing with ideas for my books, even though I have like half a dozen notebooks about my room I never seem to actually pick one up to write my newest idea in! It’s so frustrating!

Hope you have an awesome week!

  27. Oh, I know exactly what you mean! I’ve had it happen with reviews, with post ideas, and even with story ideas. And it’s so frustrating! I’ve taken to keeping a notebook in my purse for jotting things down, but it doesn’t help if I’m driving.

I love how you post the freebies on Sundays!

  28. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

OH wow, you’ve been busy! lol. And for the idea… maybe you’ll remember for next week. 🙂

Hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!

  29. ha, that’s why you should always have pen and paper (or Ipad etc) next to your bed – first lesson for every creative writing class LOL.
Lots of Christmas-related books on your haul this week which is great. And also, all your links around the web were great reading this week.
