My 56

“Chief Chapman, I heard from Ranger Shore about what happened here. Can you give me any more specific information? How large were the dinosaurs, how many? How have people described them?”

The police officer glared at him. “There are NO dinosaurs in my town, Dr. Maltin. I told your father-in-law the same thing. It was straight line winds, a tornado or something. An earthquake. Some people have way too much imagination, that’s all.

Synopsis

Chief Park Ranger Henry Shore has dealt with and fought real live dinosaurs at his beloved Crater Lake National Park for over six years. With the help of his rangers, a few brave FBI friends and army soldiers he’d been victorious over a prehistoric lake creature and years later some particularly fiendish, and clever, specimens of the flying variety. He and his newspaper publisher wife, Ann, thought their park was finally rid of the monsters and they could reclaim their tranquil life in a place they cherished. Not so. For suddenly across the park new and even more malevolent mutant species of dinosaur begin to appear and create havoc, attacking the park’s visitors and threatening its peace. And this time the primeval scourge isn’t confined to just their park. The creatures have moved into the nearby towns, across the western United States and up into Canada. They are so much more aggressive, smarter and hungrier than any that have come before and the infestation is spreading further and faster than Henry and Ann can even imagine. This time there’s no easy way to defeat the dinosaurs. There’s too many of them and they’re too devious. This time it’s full out war and the victor will someday claim Earth.

  1. Sounds kind of cheesy, so what do you think about these books? I have never heard of Dinosaur lake. 🙂

  2. This one would give me nightmares! LOL Hope you are enjoying it, though.

    Here’s mine: “COPPER BEACH”

  3. Topazshell says:

I like this one. I’m surprised at myself. I think this guy isn’t telling the truth. He knows there are dinosaurs. Why the cover up?

  4. Sounds like Godzilla at Crater Lake! If this story is told with a sense of humor, I’d enjoy it.
My Friday post features FETCHING LOVE.

  5. Fantastic choice, Laura. Hi Stormi. If you love creature books, these are a must have.

  6. ljennison says:

Are you enjoying it? The blurb reminds me a little of Jurassic Park and the velociraptors.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Not at all like Jurassic Park. And there are things a whole lot worse than T-Rex and velociraptors. And lots of them!

  7. yvonne473 says:

I’m not sure if I’d like this one, but it does sound exciting.

  8. Breana M. says:

Wow, what an interesting quote. I hope you enjoy this one.

  9. This sounds like a crazy ride! Even with the blurb it struck me as kind of funny how matter of fact the first guy is about dinosaurs. I’ll have to look for these!

  10. Lauren says:

This actually sounds kind of awesome with a heavy helping of cheese, though! 🙂 I like that quote so I may have to look into this!

    Here’s mine.

  11. fredamans says:

Sounds kind of Jurassic Park-ish! I like that!
    Happy weekend!

  12. My immediately thought was Jurassic Park, when those raptors learned to open those doors, all bets were off.

    • fuonlyknew says:

There are so many dinosaurs in this third book. Some of the tiny ones were super bad, like compies, and some were so big I couldn’t grasp their size. Imagine that in packs and you get the idea.

  13. Sounds like an action-packed suspenseful adventure! I would love to know how heavy the gore and violence is as my son loves dinosaurs 🙂
