Synopsis

If he falls for a beautiful dancer, does he risk his heart? Or his life?

• Unlovely is narrated in dark mystery wrapped around a world teens love, that of dancers and dancing.

• Bewitching writing, an eerie story, and a here-and-now thriller, combine for a captivating read of love, loyalty, and dark revenge

• Celeste Conway’s book The Melting Season was featured by the New York Public Library as among 2006’s best teen reads. She also has written two middle-grade novels and teaches writing at Berkley College

“A perfect combination of romance and horror with (dare I say this?) some culture thrown in.” –Lois Duncan, author of Stranger with My Face and Locked in Time

Accidents happen. But they happen more often when the beautiful ballet dancers return each summer to the island. When he hears the ruthless way that the loveliest dancer talks about boys getting what they deserve when they break girls’ hearts, Harley, home for the summer after his first year of college, wonders if he’s losing his mind. He knows for sure that he’s losing his heart to this girl…But then, strange incidents start happening all over the island and Harley is caught between desire and fear: could he also be in danger of losing his life?

  1. Loving the cover! This is just the sort of dark YA novel that appeals to me. Congratulations on winning a copy. Here is my Tuesday post https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/04/28/first-chapter-first-paragraph-april-28/

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like the cover too. This is bullying to the nth. The girls are lethal! I’ve always wondered how bullies would feel about themselves if forced to look in a mirror at their behavior.

  2. nadz2014 says:

Not sure about this one. Hope you are enjoying it. Here is mine

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve just started reading it and I’m enjoying the writing. I’ve not read this author before and looking forward to it.

  3. I love the cover. The book sounds dark. Love the teaser about them being as strong as amazons!

    Here is my Teaser.

  4. P.D. Workman says:

    Sounds like an interesting book.

My teaser this week is from a YA paranormal novel: http://pdworkman.com/excerpt-from-empath-by-becca-j-campbell/

  5. I like stories similar to this but I appreciate it better on screen then on paper LOL. It’s just that I don’t have a strong dance backgrounds and sometimes they would do descriptions on choreography and it flies over my head

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m with you. I usually watch something like this on TV but thought I’d give it a go and I’m enjoying it. So far I haven’t run into much about the choreography. It’s more about the pack of girls and the poor guys:)

  6. Sounds interesting..lol

This one sounds really interesting. Having no coordination, I have always admired dancers. I’m on the linky if you want to see what I’m teasing this week. Happy reading!

  9. alisbooks says:

I haven’t seen this before. Between the teasers and synopsis, it’s grabbed my attention! Here’s my TT! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

It grabbed me too. That’s why I entered the giveaway. I only enter them when I really want to try a new author or book.

  10. Your teases had me laughing.

    sherry @ fundinmental

  11. Can’t help but think of Black Swan – only, because of the cover of course! Have you seen Black Swan? This one looks engrossing though!

Claudia @ My Soul Called Life

  13. ljennison says:

Sounds like some dark, mean girls in spite of being dancers or maybe because of it. My Teaser

    • fuonlyknew says:

Probably both and I can never understand how ugly natured people find each other. One alone probably wouldn’t do what these girls do.

  14. Dagny says:

What a title! I like the quote about a pack of girls, lol.

My TT this week: Dead Midnight by Marcia Muller at http://wp.me/pZnGI-mW
