Some chit chat.

I’ve been MIA for the last couple of weeks. Sorry I missed your Sunday Posts.

My brother came down from Michigan and a bunch of us went over to Pensacola to stay at my sister and brother-in law’s place.

Went to Windcreek Casino and had a great dinner brunch and did some gambling. My brother, who doesn’t even like gambling, was the last to quit, and he won! LOL

Went out to eat, a lot.

Had Margarita’s and Bloody Mary’s and ice cold beers.

Swam a lot! It’s so hot and humid. Heat index has us at well over a hundred.

Went to watch the Blue Wahoos play some baseball. They won. Enjoyed the dogs and beer, but it was so sticky hot.

More swimming!

More eating.

More drinking.

Good times!

Now I’m back and have a lot to share with you about books!

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

  1. Sounds like you had lots of good times! Also lots of new books – Enjoy them all!!

  2. bluekaren says:

Wow! So many great reads in this post. I really love the look of Below the Water Line. Happy to hear you had fun with your brother. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. I’m having great luck and enjoying them too:) I had a marvelous time and will be doing it again in August!

  3. bluekaren says:

Oh wait. I meant to add that sometimes my site does that too, where it won’t let me add new urls, just copies the old ones. I find that saving the post and leaving it, and then coming back sometimes helps.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think I figured it out. Still not sure why it’s doing it, but if I load all of the pictures first and then add the links after, it works. Some dang gremilins, I guess. LOL Thanks for the help!

  4. All that swimming, drinking and eating sounds like heaven 🙂
You did get a bunch of great books! I do hope you enjoy them all!

Have a great week Laura! Happy Reading!

  5. You seem to have a great week! Haven’t read all the books you mentioned here but I’ve heard about some of it.

    Happy reading! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh, I did, Tiffany. Sorry it came to an end. Some of these were new to me too. So glad I ahd the opportunity to read them.

  6. Daniela says:

Hope you visit my weekly wrap up: http://www.danielaark.com/what-a-week-16/

  7. grgenius says:

Great post! Sounds like you had a fun visit. Suffering through the crazy hot temps here myself (about two hours away from where you were…small world! ). Enjoy your upcoming reads. That Patricia Cornwell book didn’t disappoint. Happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had a fabulous time. Thanks:) Maybe we’ll manage to bump into each other! That would be awesome!

  8. Sounds like you had a great vacation! I also received Ella, the Slayer. I’m looking forward to it and I really like Murder on the Bucket List. Enjoy your reads and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m just starting Ella and liking it already! I’ve read some really good books recently. Very lucky!

  9. I’m glad you had such a great time with your family! Visiting my family is one of my favorite vacations.

Yay for Threads of Evidence! I’m really looking forward to reading that one; I liked the first book very much. There are a few others in your new books that I need to check out, especially the Lavenes’ mysteries.

Have a great week, and enjoy all those new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

All of my vacations are with family. We always have such fun!

I had to grab the first book so I’d be up to date with Threads:) I hope you try the Lavene books. They have several different series and I never pass up a chance to nab their books.

  10. So many books! Your review books looks excellent. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your brother. 🙂

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thank you, Bea! I grabbed some good ones and have already read many of them. All good so far! And I had such a fun time with my family:)

  11. I love Pensacola! I have some family who lives there and it’s always been my favorite beach. It sounds like you had a great visit with your family. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Maybe you’ll come down to visit and we can meet. My sister Sherry is also a blogger and reviewer and we hang out a lot. You could come over for Margaritas and some swimming! LOL

  12. amyh90 says:

Sounds fantastic! I’m really glad you had a good time 😀 I had to giggle about your brother, lol. I work in a casino so I find that quite amusing! I’m happy he won though 😀
I love having a dog when I’m out 😀 I don’t have them often so they always taste so good!
    Have a great week,
    Amy x

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thank you. We had so much fun and will be doing it all again in August. And the first thing my brother wants to do is return to the casino! LOL

  13. It sounds like you had a great time!! I’m a little jealous, honestly! 😉 I haven’t heard of any of your books, but Ella the Slayer looks AWESOME! I hope you enjoy all of them and have a fantastic week!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Such a blast we had! I’m supposed to be on vacation this week but had to change it til August. We’ll all be getting back together then, including my sister from Michigan!
I’m reading Ella right now and having a good read so far.

  14. Lola says:

Sounds like you had a good few weeks and I understand why that means you have been MIA for a while. Glad to hear you’re back :).
That link issue sounds weird. Maybe some piece of html code isn’t closed? Does it happen in other posts as well?
You got a lot of new books! I hope you’ll enjoy them all! And have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s good to be back. Lola. Thank you. But I’ll be MIA a bit in August as we’ll all be getting back together for more fun! I checked and nothing seems to be open but I figured out a way to get around it and add links:)

  15. Woah, loads of book, Them looks creepy, that cover gives me shivers!

  16. katarguelles says:

Sounds like you had a great time with your family. I love the eating, swimming and drinking lol. That’s a great way to relax!

You have another great haul of books and I’ll have to check out the free ones. Have a great week!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL Lots of those things were going on! We had so much fun and crammed a lot into those couple of weeks. I barely read any books. That was strange. LOL

  17. Deborah says:

Oh wow… so many new books! Some I very much like the look of.

Your break away sounds just perfect!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I got my hands on some good ones. It’s funny how I bounce all over the plave with genres. LOL Back to it now that things are back to normal:)

  18. Below the Water Line sounds good, hope you enjoy it and the rest of your books. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was thrilled to get my hands on Below The Water Line. I wasn’t hit hard by Katrina but met many people who never went back.

  19. Ah, you also mentioned margaritas in your good times! I had a couple of nights like that…and time away from the routines. Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your books. I see a new Lauren Carr book that I must get!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh yeah. Margaritas for all of us Parrotheads! LOL I was curious about Lauren Carr’s books. She;s a new author for me and these will be some interesting ventures into her books.

  20. Greg says:

Pensacola is so nice, I love that whole part of FL. Sounds like you guys had a great time, although it gets a little too hot for me in the summer there. Still, it’s beautiful. You have a lot of fun books, always fun to scroll through your haul. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I live about 50 minutes from Pensacola. Just a hop skip and jump. I love this area and will never leave:) Even though it’s about 110 plus with the heat index right now and so humid you could cut paddle a boat in the air. LOL

  21. fangswandsfairy(alt) says:

My goodness you got/won so many books! Amazing. Hair of the Dog has an intriguing but creepy cover. Have a wonderful week

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure did and so thrilled to get them. I’m all over the place with genres. LOL I have the ARC of Hair of the Dog so don’t have that awesome cover but I can tell ya, the book is very good so far!

  22. yvonne473 says:

So many great looking books on your list. Enjoy them.

    Have a great week!

  23. Hair of The Dog looks really interesting!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m almost half way done and very much enjoying it. I wish I could stay awake long enough to finish it but I’ll probably not get done until this weekend. Something to look forward to:)

  24. Kathryn says:

Your MIA time sounds fantastic – a great way to get away from it all. Now back to reading those many scary looking books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I didn’t want it to end. The good thing is we’ll all be getting together again in August with another sister coming down too. And my brother is looking for a place to live around P’cola. Let the good times roll! LOL

  27. My eyes saw the words bloody mary and that’s all I can think about now, lol. Mmm, oh how I LOVE those! 😀

    Have a wonderful week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Extra spicy, please. LOL My mom had one and it was too spicy. Darn, guess I had to drink it too!

  28. I have to admit I hadn’t heard of any of these but Ella The Slayer has a pretty cover and sounds interesting 🙂 Enjoy your goodies!

  29. Elizabeth says:

thanks for the free book links. I got a couple.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah. I spend hours sometimes looking for a mix of genres and try to pick ones that have good recommendations too. Happy reading!

  30. Angelized1st says:

Sounds like you’ve been having a lot of fun this summer. Glad you enjoyed family time. Your book haul is fantastic! I used to be majorly into mysteries when I was in college. I tend to read and listen to music by genre, and change every decade. Don’t know why. Lately I’ve been on a YA/Dystopian kick, but this summer I’ve been getting heavy into thrillers. Hair of the Dog looks very interesting, as do many of the others. I’ll definitely look into them.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m ready to do it all over again in August. Can’t wait! I used to read only thrillers and horror. Now I’m all over the place, even reading children’s books and I’ve discovered so many wonderful new authors because of it!

  31. Sounds like you have been beating the heat. I am excited to be headed out of town this weekend for a bit of a break. Thanks for sharing all the freebies.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah. It’s brutal hot here. I wouldn’t go outside if I didn’t have a pool. LOL I hope you have a fantastic getaway!

  32. It’s nice to have that time with your family, and margaritas. 😉 Hope you have a great week and enjoy all the new reads when you get to them!

  33. Naomi Hop says:

Having visitors and doing fun stuff in the sun are always good excuses! I wish it would warm up down here! Enjoy your new reads!

    Naomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

    • fuonlyknew says:

We didn’t waste one second either! LOL Even when we were just lounging around the pool, we were having good times:) I’ll try to send some of this 100 plus heat your way!

  34. That’s a lot of new books! I hope they’ll all be amazing 🙂
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve been so lucky and read a lot of winners. I’m reading several right now and they’re all good too!

  35. Ella the Slayer and Hunting for Witches both look good. You’ve got a huge stack! Thanks for stopping by, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was reading both but set aside Hunting For Witches for later. I flipped a coin over which to finish first. LOL

  36. So many freebies! Hope all the swimming actually helped cool you down. I’ve been hiding out in air conditioning all week.

  37. Diana Leigh says:

Sounds like you had a great time with your brother. Enjoy all those new books!
