Some chit chat.

So here we are again, another Sunday! I can’t believe how times fly.

Fall is fast approaching and you know what comes after that! I’m not looking forward to winter. The cold is no friend of mine.

To add some excitement to the new seasons, I’m gathering books for Halloween and Christmas. Having such fun choosing some funny and some scary books. Yeah, you know me. Gots to have some scary ones, even for Christmas. LOL

So, do you have anything special planned for the holiday weekend? I plan on doing some swimming, a little bit of yard work, and binging on books and movies. Heavy on the books and movies. LOL

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

Hi Laura! Some of your scary books up there have pretty intriguing covers. Hope you enjoy them. This weekend started out with a trip to the MN Renaissance Festival. I was going to go to the MN State Fair, but I spent a lot of money on my nephew and broke my budget for the month.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can’t resist a good cover but all of these have great ratings too. The festival sounds fun. Hope you enjoy!

  2. Your killing me with those freebies….lol. I grabbed six of them, it’s the reason I don’t list all my freebies any more by the end of the week I have grabbed way to many….and it always starts here….lol. 🙂 Oh and you need to share with me where you get scary Christmas ones…I want some!

LOL Found some good ones this week! I’ll check my TBR. I know I have a lot of scary Christmas books. I usually find them by following horror and thriller authors I enjoy. They come out with some fun holiday reads. And I stumble across them on Amazon now and then while browsing. I’ll get back to ya!

  3. Ack!! So many good freebies! Must resist, must resist. Though I may go get Murder on the Ghost Walk and maybe Murder on the Go and possibly Rose Hill. I need to start looking for Halloween-y type books for October. I read a lot of Christmas books last year and like the idea of doing more Halloween-y books. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m starting this month with Halloween books as I have so many. Christmas is going to be scary, romantic, and funny ones:)

  4. Those freebies tho…are seriously adding up! 🙂 The cold is my nemesis as well. I am working on the blog, organizing for the next two months, reading … and eventually going to grade all these papers from the first two weeks of school. Tomorrow. After the baseball game. 🙂

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I try hard not to grab all of them when I list them on my post. Luckily I already have several of these. LOL Or after the football game, or gold, or car racing….LOL

  5. Heidi says:

EVen though I am glad for our cooler weather, I am already feeling anxious at the the thought of winter. That cover for Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things is creepy. Have a wonderful week.

  6. Lola says:

I like autumn and spring best, but not a fan of summer or winter. I am happy with the slightly cooler weather as we had a warm summer here and I like dressing in multiple layes and cuddling up with a good book. No holiday weekend here, just a normal weekend.
You sure got some creepy looking books this week. that cover for Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things looks kinda cool and creepy at the same time. And yay you got Fire Country! I really like that series!
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll take spring and summer. I love to swim!
I sure do have some awesome reads. I wish all I had to do was read:)

  7. I so agree that the days, weeks, months are flying by this year. I hope the cold weather doesn’t come too quickly for you, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know! Our really cold weather doesn’t come until after the first of the year and it’s usually just a couple of days here and there. Still, I like to go barefoot so summer is my favorite time.

  8. Woops…clicked “post comment” when I meant to create a new paragraph! Sorry.

Anyway, wanted to add that I hope you have a great week and enjoy all your books especially the scary ones! I enjoy mysteries at Christmas, but nothing really scary at any time of the year. I’m a Fraidy Cat…lol.

  9. katarguelles says:

I have some books for Halloween I plan to read but I need more for Christmas. You found a lot of great freebies and I grabbed some. I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have some Christmas books that I never got to and will be reading those and adding a few new ones. I hope your week is great too:)

  10. Yvonne says:

You have some great books on your list. I love reading Halloween and Christmas books, too. Although I’m really not a big fan of winter either. Have a great week!

  11. Deborah says:

I love the look of some of your new books for this week, but of that first three, two are both (purposely) upside down and that’s kinda screwing with my head! Gah!

  12. Enjoy your haul! I am curious about Stillwater….thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.

  13. Christy says:

The cold is NOT a friend of mine either. I’d much rather sweat a little than freeze. lol. Have a great week and enjoy your books.

  14. Kathryn says:

Enjoy collecting those holiday reads, got to say I am not much of one, I just tend to read what I feel like, although Christmas ones are nice to read near the holiday. Lots of freebies collected!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like to share some good holiday reads. Plus I find new authors! Good thing I don’t grab all of those freebies I list. LOL

  15. Emma says:

How cool is the cover of Stillwater? I would buy it just for that!

    Emma

  16. Clare says:

Wow, those look like some great books! And I love the cover for Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things!

    • fuonlyknew says:

They sure look good don’t they! I must confess, the cover art for Children was the first reason I wanted to read it! Then I read the blurb and wanted to even more.

  17. I really need to start planning my Oct and Dec reads. I’m going to do my NetGalley books for November. I hope. 🙂 Nice book haul!

  18. Emma says:

Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things is quite a title!

  19. Scary December reads – HA!!! I hope you find some of those! That would be spectacular and I’m fairly certain someone somewhere has written one or a few of those!!!

If you get any cool weather, please send it to Michigan. Much appreciated… 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have some good scary snowmen and santas and elves! Should be fun to share them. We have no cold weather in sight, sorry!

  20. Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things sounds really interesting. And yes, fall is rapidly approaching! Time is flying by way too fast. Have a good week!

  21. Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Stilwater looks pretty interesting. 🙂 Have a good week!

  22. Paige says:

For the past couple years I’ve been doing themed reads for fall/October–scary/spooky/creepy books, or books about witches and stuff. I’m looking forward to this year, got some good books on my list! :3

  23. Happy reading, girl. 🙂
    sherry @ fundinmental

  24. I read Submerged, that was a good one! I don’t read too many out-and-out horror or terribly scary titles but I hope that you enjoy the ones you picked up!

  25. I’m not looking forward to winter either, and every time someone says they can’t wait for Fall I just want to hit them. Who actually likes being cold? Why is that a thing? Lol.
I love how diverse your reading tastes are.
I hope you’re having a good week so far

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I know what you mean. I’m not a cold weather gal and the only thing I look forward to with fall is the return of my favorite series on TV and Halloween. Then lets skip to Christmas and right on to spring!
