My 56

When Brad got to the double doors, one swung open, inviting him in. It squealed on its hinges, adding to the macabre atmosphere. A laugh bubbled up from his lips.

Read on if you want to know more.

Synopsis

Julie and Brad Evans are house flippers. They buy low, clean out the old occupants’ junk, and try to make a profit. Enter Hemmings House on Bedlam Street in scenic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. Too good a deal to pass up, but with an ominous secret. The old Victorian Mansion has dwellers that do not want to be dispossessed. As the house reveals it’s past, will the couple’s marriage survive The Flip?

  8. Hi Laura,

I didn’t even realise that ‘House Flipping’ was a term used here in the UK, so I had fun researching this post a little more.

Apparently here though, flipping tends to take place when a new property is purchased off plan and then sold on at a profit before it is even completed … A bit of a risky strategy if you ask me!!

Probably not a book for me, as I am not into reading the paranormal, but great teaser lines nonetheless, so thanks for sharing 🙂

That’s a different way to flip. I’d find it hard to invest my money and then hope someone would pay more for it than I did. Doesn’t seem like you’d make much profit either.

  9. Ominous quote, cover, and setting…Bedlam Street!?!

  10. I’m adding this to my tbr right now! 🙂
