Some chit chat.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

Ah, Valentines Day. I remember when it was a big deal to me. What would I get him? What would he get me? And what should we do to celebrate?

Those days are long gone. I’m now single and don’t have to stress over it. My plans are to curl up on the couch and watch some scary movies. What? Strange, you say? That’s me. I celebrate the holidays with some horror movies. Now to find some that center around Valentine’s Day! I’m sure there are plenty. LOL

So, what are your plans? Celebrating? Not celebrating? And is this holiday a good one or one you’d prefer to just skip?

Got lots of books to share, so let’s get to it!

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

Fun looking freebies! And scary movies sound like a good way to spend Valentines! Hope you find something good… 🙂 I’ll have to check out your cozy reviews- i’ve been reading a bit of those lately.

  2. Horror movies for Valentine’s Day sounds like an unique plan, I like it. I’m not celebrating either, so I’ll just be going about my normal day!

Those Pembroke Sinclair books have caught my eye, I’ll have to go look them up when I finish this comment 😛 And that poster is awesome!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love horror year round and it’s funny that when there’s a holiday i go looking for ones to go with them. I’ve read Pembroke’s zombie books and loved them so I’m excited to read this series now. The poster is amazing. I get the book in about a week!

  3. Deborah says:

Hope you’re enjoying your horror movies today Laura. I didn’t really do much either though I babysat for a friend so she and her partner could go out!

Another wide array of books again this week!!!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m watching The Walking Dead. Can’t wait for the new season starting tonight! I had fun shopping for these freebies. Even grabbed a couple for myself.

  4. Laura says:

I’m spending Valentine’s day doing what I do on a normal Sunday and chilling out! Though I’m taking my little brother away tomorrow so I had probably better pack! Have a great week and happy reading!

  5. We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. I really like all things romantic, so also this holiday. But my man hates it. So after years of buying stuff and never getting something back.. I quit. LOL!! Now we just had a nice breakfast together.
Scary movies also sound fun! LOL!!
Happy reading this week.. I love the look of ‘The Spirit Chaser’.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had a boyfriend like that. We finally just went to the movies. And didn’t watch a romance either. LOL Spirit Chaser was something else.

  6. danielaark says:

Strange??? NO! Watching horror movies sounds like the perfect celebration to me Laura! Love the bloody heart BTW! as usal loved your freebies! my first valentine gift today 🙂 Thanks!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve got those. I found something really good though. Last seasons episodes of The Walking Dead. Can’t wait for the premiere tonight!!

  9. Elisabeth says:

Your amazing freebie finds will be the death of me. (Don’t know how, but I’m sure of it.)

  11. A bunch of nice looking freebies. I also like all the pretty paperbacks you got. Hope you enjoy them. As for celebrating Valentines Day well we are just hanging out at home together doing the same thing we do everyday the only change is we made handmade cards to give each other. My 4 year old likes to craft. Have a great week!!

  12. You have some interesting books coming up for review! 🙂 I also picked up a few of those freebies! (I figured a while back you didn’t get all of them cause some times you list the same ones..hehe).

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, I like to browse and find different genres so there’s something for everyone. I try hard not to grab many for myself. LOL

  13. We don’t make a big deal about Valentine’s Day but we did go and see Deadpool. We all loved it. You got a lot of good books and I’m grabbing some of the freebies. I hope you have a great week!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I want to see Deadpool. Been hearing all good things about it. I watched The Walking dead. What a killer new episode last night!

  14. atothewr says:

My wife and I don’t do much for Valentine’s Day. It seems like a made up holiday to us so we just don’t do all that much. We got take out last night and watched 5 episodes of United States of Tara – good show if you haven’t seen it by now. We are on season 2. So, that’s how we spent V Day.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It does seem so commercialized now. Lots of comments around the web this week about that. I haven’t checked out US of Tara yet.

  15. So excited for Titans, hope you enjoy it and the rest of your reads

  16. That’s a huge haul, Laura! I love freebies 🙂
We don’t really do Valentine’s day, I prefer to think we show each other every day that we love each other, and so we don’t need a special day for that 🙂
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

  17. Lola says:

We usually celebrate valentine’s day in a small way, buy something small for the other or some years we just forget it all together. Sometimes we do soemthign special, but most years it’s just another normal day.
You got a nice haul this week, your new books look good. I’ll have to stop by some of those cozy mysteries posts you posted this week. Have a rgeat week!

  18. We played with our grandson and ate pizza. Love that you watch horror movies.

  19. Wattle says:

I actually forgot about Valentine’s Day this year, I never do anything for it (since it’s just me!) but I spent the day reading (and my cats spent the day sleeping 😛 ) Horror movies sounds like a good way to spend the day too, I reckon.

It looks like you got some interesting new books to read! I hope that you enjoy them all 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I would have forgot except I had mentioned it on this post when I drafted it earlier. LOL Reading and movies are a perfect way to spend the day.

  20. I contained myself and only grabbed one freebie. Thanks for sharing all the goodies.

  21. Annemieke says:

I’ve been seeing a lot of Titans. Curious to hear what everyone thinks of it.
I can’t say I have heard of any horror valentine movies. Huh. That should deserve a google, haha

  22. Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace says:

It was quiet here for Valentines day, hubby and I are too lazy to do anything!!
Love the Titan’s poster! I hope your book gets here soon!

    • fuonlyknew says:

A great way to spend the holiday:) I need to get a frame for the poster. I have another one that needs a new frame too so I’ll get to that soon. Only three days until my book!

  23. We spent Valentine’s day sleeping in, I worked on my blog a while, and then we went to the park. We had just been talking about people’s behavior when there’s an issue between dogs, and how the dog on the leash always gets blamed. I don’t like dog parks, but after our walk Baby was panting, so we went in so she could get water. She was on the leash and walking right next to the man’s side. And of course, this asshat German Shepherd got up in Baby’s face and on her, attacking her and the man. He is a police officer and always carries. The other dog’s owner showed no interest in handling his dog and the man was in the process of cross-drawing for his gun before the owner got his dog. I jumped the fence into the small dog park and took Baby over the fence and we left as a woman came running up yelling about how her dog (another dog that came up to Baby before the attack) was only a puppy.

I felt bad because I know the man felt bad that that happened after we had just been talking about it, and then Baby got attacked.

After that hullabalo, we go ready for dinner and went into Austin. I made the man take me to the expensive bra store (thanks, Mom, for those genes) and then we went to this new Irish restaurant that was fantastic.
