Some chit chat.

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!

It’s been fairly routine for me this week. Been busy at work and busy working in the yard. Got a sunburn. Funny that I’m excited about it. It’s a sign that summers on the way. No more cold weather. Finally!

I got in the pool to clean it today. The water temp is only 70 so it was pretty darn cold. I was in for around an hour and it felt great.

That’s about it for me this week.

Got lots of books to share, so let’s get to it!

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

  1. Greg says:

I could use a sunburn. 🙂 It’s been nothing but cold here… one of these days!

Lots of good looking books. Red Rising seems to get a lot of love, everyone seems to be liking those…

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll try to send some warmth your way, Greg! I won the special cover copy of Red Rising. I meant to take a picture of it as it’s quite different from the original. Need to start the second book now.

  2. Deborah says:

So many posts… I don’t know how you do it. I’m all self-congratulatory about the fact I’m posting every day for a month and have managed a week – let alone doing it all of the time!!!

Great job on cleaning out the pool! And bring on summer for you Laura. (And winter for us!)

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks, Deborah. And I’ve been off a bit on my blogging recently. Actually missed a few days here and there. The pool is spakrling and its very warm today. My son and I will be getting in it for sure! Happy days! LOL

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m thinking you are over Australia’s way?

  3. My kids have been after us to go swimming, but it’s just not quite warm enough. Hopefully in a few weeks.

Red Rising looks interesting, I will have to check it out.

Have a great week! My Weekly Wrap-Up

    • fuonlyknew says:

The weather is great for swimming but the water has yet to warm up enough to truly relax and enjoy:) Red Rising is a fantastic read and I’m getting ready to read the second book. Can’t wait for the movie!

  4. I’ve never known anyone to be excited about a sunburn, haha. But ahhh Angus, Thongs & Full Frontal Snogging is free?! It must be… 13 years since I’ve read that? I’m pretty sure I’d hate it now, but I downloaded it anyway just so I can read it one day for nostalgia’s sake and to see what I think of it now lol.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. Not too bad of a burn and already turning into a tan now. Time for sunscreen:) I’ve not read the book. Might grab it. That title and cover are too fun.

  5. *wines* I want a sunburn, too, Laura! I’m so ready for warmer weather it’s not even funny! I’m glad you’ve got your pool cleaned out and that you had a good, busy week.
All your new books look fantastic, too. So great times ahead, too, I’m sure.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll wish you some warm weather, Lexxie! It’s here to stay and I’m enjoying it before the humidity gets here. LOL

  6. I had a very busy week so I didn’t have a lot of reading time this week. But I did finish reading ‘Raif Badawi: The Voice of Freedom’. This book really shook me up. My review will be a on my blog this week.

Sunburn?? Yep, sounds like summer. I also can’t wait for the weather to get warmer. I miss having my outside reading time.

I love the look of your new books. Have a great week and Happy reading! 😉

    • fuonlyknew says:

That title has me curious. I’ll be sure to stop over for your review:) Yep, sunburn but now a tan. Yeah for spring! Now to get my outdoor office ready:)

  7. Oh my gosh! You got a sunburn and it SNOWED here yesterday! I hate Ohio. I am so over this crazy weather.
Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh no! A lot of people I’ve chatted with are still getting snow. My mother did in Michigan. She plans to come down for the summer in May but not sure she can wait that long now. LOL She loves to swim.

  8. Yep! Some fab weather on the Gulf Coast. Summer is here and I couldn’t be happier. Now…I am going outside. 🙂

After we talked I went out and cleaned the pool. I’m looking forward to seeing what new things you did with your yard. Neighbor came and moved are is going to help clear along my fence line and cut down some nuisance trees. Should be all set soon. Got flower beds ready to put in mulch and all done!

  9. I have gotten a fair amount of sun this week. 🙂 I am so jealous of your pool I wish I lived closer so I could swim…lol. It might rain today but not suppose to get to cold so we shall see.

Great bunch of books and the one you will review next week is on my Maybe TBR pile so curious to see your review. 🙂

    Happy reading,
    Stormi
    Week In Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

It would so fun if you could come over, Stormi. We chat all the time yet have never met in person. We need a blogger convention! LOL Wild Man’s Curse is pretty good. I love the setting.

  10. sjhigbee says:

I’m NOT going to grind my teeth with jealousy over the notion of anyone going swimming OR getting sunburn. The easterly blowing today has KNIVES in it and I am SOOO fed up with feeling cold! Um. Tantrum over weather is now over… back to the books! I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with Red Rising:). In the meantime, take care and have a great reading week. This is my Weekly Wrap-Up
    https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/04/10/weekly-wrap-up-10th-april-2016/

    • fuonlyknew says:

Let it all out! I used to live in Michigan. Been 30 years now and I don’t know how I could stand it. The winters are too long and the summers are too short. Red Rising is very good. I won a special edition print copy with a different cover. Need to share that one when I do my review.

  11. I’d be excited about a sunburn, too!!! It’s so bad but feels sooooo good. And awesome wins and books this week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL It wasn’t too bad and it’s already turning into a tan. Plan to get a little bit more sun today so I won’t keep burning.

  12. Great books this week! You are a brave woman to get into the pool with the water 70 degrees but then I like my pool water in the high 80s at the coolest so I’m kind of a wimp. Have a great week!

  13. tonyalee says:

Ugh, I hate sunburns! I have fair skin so I get burned all the time!!

(and lol at your comment about the free books. I thought you got them all!)

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like that first sunburn. It reassures me that warm weather is soon here to stay. LOL Yeah, I added that comment when I realized everyone thought I grabbed all of those freebies!

  14. I wish summer was coming here`!!! It is still so cold! Red Rising is one I need to get. Everyone loves it!! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Hopefully the warm weather will get to you soon! Red Rising is such a great book. I did have a bit of a slow start with it though.

  15. Love the cover of Streetlights Like Fireworks…intriguing.

You made cleaning the pool sound like fun….LOL. Thanks for sharing your new books and for visiting my blog.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It sure is. Great choice to draw you in:) It was fun to clean the pool. Now for that water to warm up. LOL

Ugh sorry to hear about the sunburn You got Red Rising!!! I hope you enjoy it. That book is awesome! My review is coming up soon 🙂 looking forward to your review of Wild Man Curse

    • fuonlyknew says:

The sunburn was worth it. LOL Red Rising is something else. And I’m enjoying it a lot. I’ll watch for your review. Wild Man’s Curse was a lot of fun.

  19. Dani Chapman says:

Well you rocked the book haul this week! So many lovely books… 🙂

Happy Reading! Dani @ Paulette’s Papers

  20. It’s great you have sunny weather. It’s been raining here in California but it’s supposed to be warm again. I wish it would make up it’s mind lol. I’ve had a Red Rising ARC I received from Comic Con that I still need to read. I’ve heard it was really good. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  21. Lola says:

A routine week can be nice! That’s nice the weather is warmer. here it feels like spring as well and I love how all the trees are turning green slowly. I have the Dragon of the Month club for review, but haven’t read it yet, it sure sounds like a fun one. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It does feel good to have a normal week. I feel better mentally with less stress. Everything is showing so many shades of green. I love that explosion of colors. I won the dragon book and plan to read it soon. Sounds like a lot of fun.

  22. buffywnabe says:

I got Red Rising this week as well! You have an awesome haul, enjoy!
    Check out my Sunday Post

  23. Sounds like you had a pretty easy week! I can’t wait to see what you think about Red Rising! I started but never finished… Thanks for the freebies! 😀

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, a nice easy week for me. Red Rising has a slow start but once you get to the deep stuff it’s one you can’t put down. I hope you give it another chance.

  24. Christy LoveOfBooks says:

There’s something nice about getting that first sunburn of the season. 😀 Oooo Red Rising. <3 Enjoy your books and have a great week.

  25. I read and enjoyed Red Rising. I just got Tahoe Deathfall for free, so thanks for your tip. I would like to read the Dawn Eastman series but haven’t gotten around to it.. too many books slip past me. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m really liking Red Rising. And glad to share some freebies with everyone. I only grabbed one of them myself. It is hard to read all of the books we want to. I have to stop myself from buying every book that appeals to me. I’d go broke. LOL

  26. Thanks so much for the freebies! Angus, Thongs and the Full-Frontal Snogging is one of those kind of popular at one time type of books that you don’t see in the freebies very often!
Thank you for stopping by my Sunday Post! 🙂

  27. taylordeanbooks says:

So glad to see you received Girl of Mine!! Happy reading!

  28. Heidi says:

I really loved a Monster Calls. I want that Susannah Sandlin book. I am glad to hear you are getting sunshine and warm weather, we had a nice dose last week. This week we are expecting some showers but also sunshine by the end.

    • fuonlyknew says:

A Monster Calls was above my expectations. I adored it! And I really enjoyed Susannah’s book too. A perfect fit for me:) We are getting rain this week too but supposed to be high 70s and sunny all weekend.

  29. I hope you love Sandlin and Brown’s books. Woot. Sunburns aren’t really a good thing, but being outdoors sure is!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I loved Susannah’s book and getting to brown’s soon. Yeah, I forgot the sunscreen. Not good. But now I have a tan so hopefully I won’t burn any more and can limit my exposure. Hard to do when I swim a lot:)
