Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!

It’s been a bit more quiet on my blog what with company and summer activities. Hard to believe school starts back up in a few weeks.

My son is now out of school. I remember how fun it was to go shopping for clothes and the lists of school supplies. I don’t miss how expensive it was though. Whew! Every year it seemed like it cost so much more.

Been doing some swimming, taking a quick trip here or there, watching some shows and movies, and reading a lot of books. Speaking of books, I have a bunch to share with you as I’m combining two weeks worth, having missed last weeks Sunday Post.

And I’ve put together a large batch of free downloads. Grab a bunch. There’s many different genres to choose from. I managed to only grab a few! LOL

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link.

So, what did you get to read this week?

Got any recommendations?

I’d love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.

Comments
  1. Greg says:

Yeah hard to believe summer is almost over. I’ve been slacking on my shows a bit but I still watch probably to much Netflix lol.

Nice freebies! I need to go take a look at Aqua and some of those others. and Zombies vs. Dinosaurs- definitely curious about that one!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I’m always watching too much Netflix. That and On Demand!

I found a bunch of fantasy and sci fi this week. Will be reviewing Zombies Versus Dinosaurs this coming week.

  2. Being busy offline is a good thing, Laura. I’ve been the same way lately, and it’s nice to be away from the computer and the phone and just spend time with family and having fun!
I have to start shopping for school supplies for my two youngest children soon, as they start again on August 29th. We still have a few weeks, but I want to be able to stay away from shops in the last few days of frenzy.
Your freebies look great, and you got an amazing haul! Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve got plenty of posts scheduled ahead so I appear busy a lot of time, when actually I’m not near my computer. I do make sure to reply to comments on my blog as quickly as possible. I feel bad when I don’t. Good luck on the shopping!

  3. I was thinking about back to school shopping to other day. I miss it too. My son will be a sophomore in college this fall and it just isn’t the same. Textbooks are freaking expensive! It’s nice when they can be rented. Anyway, have a great week!

  4. Trips here and there are good fun too. That is just what I have been doing summer but I’ve enjoyed it. Lots of tempting ebooks there but I have cut myself off from them as I already have too many unread books on my kindle! It makes me stressed!

  5. Never had kids so I don’t have to do all that school shopping and I don’t miss it. 🙂 I do need to do a little shopping for myself for going back to college though.

You got some great books! I hope you like A Story to Kill as Lynn is my favorite author. 🙂 I also picked up a few of those Freebies! As if I need more…lol.

    Stormi
    Week in Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hope you got some classes you like, Stormi! I really enjoy Lynn’s books too:) Gotcha on the freebies this time!

  6. Trips sound fun! I’d love to get back to traveling even for weekend trips and hopefullly we will soon. What drives me crazy about school supplies is the odd specificness of the requests. They need 14 #2 pencils not 16 or erasers that are latex free AND pink. It’s enough to make me crazy. So many books! I’m trying to avoid the temptation of those freebies. So mnay look great. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve been doing a lot of three day weekends and it’s such fun. I remember the weird supply lists. I’ve always wonder how they chose how many of each item they wanted you to get. LOL

  7. Great haul! I love Wendy Corsi Staub, so Blue Moon is on my list. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve read plenty of Wendy’s books and was thrilled to get Blue Moon. It wasn’t a fast read either. Lots going on.

  8. Wow, I love this list of free e-books! How are you finding out about these deals? I signed up for “Deals Of The Day” with my Kindle, but they never mention any free books. Thanks for having those links!

  9. I can’t believe school is here either. I haven’t been able to do any of my back-to-school shopping. We have to keep our supply list for the entire grade (not including electives!) below $40. I’ll start unpacking my classroom on Wednesday, but I won’t be ready with a list by then. We all go back on Thursday, and I’m excited and nervous to start this year with a new partner. We took two trips late last week to Corpus and Houston. We were too pooped after doing the Houston Zoo to do anything else, so we came back home.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh my. You have so much to do! That’s one bad thing about traveling. Recovering when you get done. LOL

  10. Literary Feline says:

We should have gone school suppy shopping this weekend, but it didn’t happen. We didn’t get a list from the school of what to bring, so I haven’t a clue what she’ll need. 🙁 She has her backpack and lunch bag, so I guess that’s a good start! They don’t want us packing them a pencil box at this stage–all supplies are communal. I think we’ll probably find out on the first day of class what she’ll need . . . I’m one of those people who likes much advance notice, so you know I’m all nerves that she won’t have something she needs. LOL

Sounds like you’ve been enjoying your summer. 🙂 Look at all those great books! And the freebies! I don’t need any new books. Or so I keep telling myself.

I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was much easier when the supplies were communal. Then, as they got older, it got complicated. LOL Yep, found lots of freebies to share this week. I have fun browsing for different ones.

  11. Shandy Jo says:

We just finished getting school clothes, sigh, we still need all the supplies for two kids. I can see the dollar bills flying out of my purse. Anyway… thanks for all the freebies and enjoy your books.

  12. My son does his own school supplies shopping for college, but he still makes me go clothes shopping with him which isn’t so bad because he buys the clothes and buys me dinner. My fave title of yours this week: My Grandfather’s Pants! Ha ha. And I love the cover of Nefertiti’s Heart. Have a stellar week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You get the best of both. LOL My Grandfather’s Pants sounds so fun and Tegon cracks me up with all of his books! You should see the covers for the other Neferti books. All are gorgeous. I can’t remember the titles, but I’ve read them all.

  13. I love school supply shopping! i don’t have kids, but I am a teacher. I could spend HOURS in office supply stores!
You got some interesting books this week!! Enjoy!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can have fun shopping for groceries. LOL I loved shopping for school supplies. And when I was young, I loved getting everything packed in my backpack. So much fun:)

  14. Thanks for the list of free books! I’ll check some of those out. I hope that you have a good reading week! 🙂

  15. I’m no longer in school, but I do remember that I never minded shopping for new clothes each year, haha. School supplies, not quite as much fun.

Sounds like you’ve been having some fun and relaxing with your summer 🙂

You did post a lot of free books this week! I actually have a couple of those and have reviewed one, but I noticed one about gargoyles? Gonna check that one for sure because I still want to read about those!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like to shop for anything. LOL There aren’t that many gargoyle books. I’ve read a few but can’t find a lot of new ones.

  16. yvonne473 says:

I picked up a few of those books too. They all look so good and I especially can’t pass up a cozy freebie 🙂 Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I didn’t find that many cozies this week. There were plenty, but many have appeared here before and some were way into the series. Odd week:)

  17. Got My Book says:

I picked up Nefertiti’s Heart. Thanks for the link and I hope you have a great week.

  18. Darn you and your freebies, you are downright hazardous! 😀

I don’t have kids but I can imagine how expensive back to school shopping is. My parents had four of us and I don’t know how they did it.

    Happy reading and swimming!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I found some good ones and had to add more! If I hadn’t got tired there would at least 20 more here! I try to spread the genres and authors around.

  19. Lauren Becker says:

I wore a uniform until college, so back to school shopping was really just about the notebooks and such. Regardless, I always loved that part! haha

    -Lauren
    http://www.shootingstarsmag.blogspot.com

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hated wearing uniforms. Then I had a son go to school and realized how easy it was and less expensive. LOL

  20. katarguelles says:

The summer has been busy for me too and it is nice to take a break. My girls are still in school and I dread going school supplies shopping. The stores are crowded and we have that long list that changes each year because of the teachers lol. I grabbed some of your freebies, you had a nice variety to select from. Have a great week Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The hard part of shopping is getting the right kind and amount of supplies and coming up with the money, especially if you have more than one child!

  21. We will be starting back to school shopping soon. I kind of love it. Hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!

  22. atothewr says:

Expensive is true when it comes to kids. 25 bucks for a small can of formula for my daughter – she is so worth it, but man it hurts the wallet. Book haul looks great.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I remember how expensive formula was! When my son starting eating, I made my own baby food. It was fun:)

  23. I’ve had Magic of the gargoyles on my tbr for a couple of weeks so I hope I like it. Gargoyles are underused in the genre! Enjoy your books and thanks for visiting my blog!

  24. Your freebies are just awesome! Will have a look. And I still fancy Save the last dance… Thanks for visiting me!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It takes hours to find the freebies. I browse several sites and dig in, following trails to find different and new ones. Save The Last Dance is going well:)

  25. sjhigbee says:

Sounds like a great time, taking in shows, movies and going swimming – AND you’ve had a great book haul! Hope you continue to have an equally good week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thank you. And just because officially summer is over, it’s not here. Our hottest month is September and the beaches are less crowded. Best of the best!

  26. I have to say, it must take a crap-ton of work to gather up all the freebies for these posts!!! I’ve tried to search for freebies myself and I just can’t do it! I don’t know how you guys who do it, well, DO IT! I mean, there’s the obvious top free sellers but beyond that, I just can’t find them. So thank you!!!

I’m with you on missing school shopping. I homeschool so I totally miss out on it!!! I can sort of pretend but we just don’t go through supplies like they do in a “brick and mortar” school. Oh well…

Enjoy all your new reads! At least there’s a ton of freebies you can go back and get 😉

    • fuonlyknew says:

The freebies take time. I usually start browsing Saturday morning. Any sooner and they aren’t free anymore. Then I check the prices before I post and take out ones no longer free and add in others. It’s fun, but does take time. Homeschooling takes dedication and work:)

  27. I don’t miss all the shcool stuff at all, but I do like the beaches a lot more after everyone has gone back. LOL
sherry @ fundinmental My Sunday Memes

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah. You can walk without getting run over and lots of peace and quiet so you can hear the waves and seagulls:) Wish I was there now instead of heading off to work. LOL

  28. Lola says:

Yes school and preparing for it always seemed to cost a lot, I don’t miss that either. Nice list of freebies, I see a few that i already got and most are new ones. I hope you’ll enjoy that HY Hanna book! I like the sound of the two cozies you reviewed this week! Have a great week!
