Some chit chat.

It’s hard to believe it’s November when we’ve been in the 80s here. Still no rain so I’m having to water everything.

Been in the pool several times this week. The water is a bit cooler but I like that.

Been hanging out with my mother, doing some shopping and playing cards. We are so competitive. You should hear us when one of us is losing! LOL

Done any Christmas shopping yet? I did pick up a few things. While I was walking around in the stores, I noticed there was barely nothing for Thanksgiving! How can that be? It’s such a wonderful holiday and a time of sharing with family.

I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday Posts so be sure to leave me your link.

What is it about cards that turns the competitive juices on? I get a bit competitive myself when playing lol. Glad you guys are having 80’s, that sounds pretty good right now. 🙂 They do seem to be skipping over Thanksgiving and going straight to Christmas!

As usual you have some fun looking freebies. And WWIV looks interesting…

    • fuonlyknew says:

We get pretty riled up when playing. My son says we have to pay the cussing fees. LOL
I’m going to start WWIV tomorrow. Really curious about it.

  2. Deborah says:

Thankfully I don’t have to do much Christmas shopping as I come from a small family (one brother, who’s married with one daughter) and I only have my mum. Friends and I agreed a long time ago not to do the present thing any longer!

  3. Run looks really good. I will begin shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday online to ship to out of town family, then hubby and I do all of our shopping on one day the first week of December, since I loathe shopping. LOL, we get competitive over cards too…good times! Enjoy your visit!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Run was fun and I found a couple of new authors from the collection. I plan to do most of my shopping online but I like to get out to the stores now and then and especially like those sales after!

  4. Great set of books you got! I need to do some Christmas shopping myself!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure found some good ones this week. I like to do a bit of early shopping and then the bulk of it right before the holiday to catch some sales. For myself too! LOL

  5. It’s unseasonally warm here as well…sleeping with the covers off in November is not natural! It’s also causing another epic dose of insomnia! So far it isn’t affecting my reading which is a relief!

  6. What is this Christmas shopping you’re talking about? I guess I should get started on that, but I don’t really feel like it just yet…
We’ve had pretty warm weather for the season, too, and mostly sunny. It rained all day yesterday, though, and we’re supposed to get snow next week :O
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It seems like I spot something for someone every time I go in a store. The best presents are those first ones you buy spontaneously:)
We’ve been 41 days with heat and no rain. So odd. But I’ll take that over snow:)

  7. sjhigbee says:

My sister and I used to quarrel so much, my grandmother relabelled the pack Unhappy Families. Fortunately we grew out of it – though Dobble now brings out my competitive side. Have a great week, Laura:) This is my Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/11/06/sunday-post-6th-november-2016/

  8. Oh man, you’re talking about Christmas? LOL

  9. This week cooled down a little but I am liking the not so freezing weather in Nov. 🙂 I have started Christmas shopping but only cause my temp job usually goes away during the middle of Dec. so if I want to get anything I must do it now while there is money in the bank. 🙂 I hate how Christmas is so commercialized and they skip right over Thanksgiving now. 🙁 This country needs to remember to be thankful for everything instead of just that all mighty dollar. Stepping of my soap box now…lol. 🙂

I put a couple of your bought books on my wishlist, but so proud to not grab any freebies….lol. That doesn’t happen often.

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did grab a couple of freebies, but they aren’t on this post. LOL It’s all Christmas in the stores. I did find some table cloths. That’s about it for Thanksgiving. So sad.

  10. We were in the 80s too. Our poor pumpkins did not fair well. Next year I’m going to soak them in some bleach water like the tip I saw on the internet and see what happens. Now, we’ve hit more Fall-like weather though I’m resisting turning on the heat. 😀

    • fuonlyknew says:

I didn’t do pumpkins this year. Have to remember that tip though. We are supposed to get our first rain in 41 days tomorrow. Then into the 70s with cooler nights.

  11. No Christmas shopping yet and I have no idea what to get anybody!

This week I read a couple of new-to-me authors: Scandalously Yours by Cara Elliott and The Dream Protocol by Adara Quick. Both were okay with good and bad parts. So, it was a so-so reading week for me.

Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen

  12. Lola says:

That’s crazy you’re still having such warm weather and no rain. We’ve had quite some rain here this week and the temperatures are dropping as well. I haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet, not even sure when and where we’ll be celebrating this year. From your list of freebies I got A Yorkshire Christmas this week, it sounds like a fun one. I hope you’ll have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Supposed to get some rain and then cooler weather tomorrow. Still running around in shorts and barefoot and loving it while it lasts!

  13. katarguelles says:

Sounds like you had a fun week and it is amazing how warm your weather still is. It’s finally in the 70’s here and starting to feel like our Fall weather. The stores are crazy showing Christmas stuff before Halloween but it’s like that every year. I haven’t started shopping but my list is easy. I have a lot of teenager nieces and nephews so cash and a small gift is what they want. I grabbed A Yorkshire Christmas. I need more Christmas books to get in the spirit. I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m on the lookout for more Christmas reads too. I don’t have many to buy for and the gift cards seem to be what they all want. My fun is the after sales! LOL

  14. yvonne473 says:

I enjoyed Cliff Hanger. That’s a good series. I got A Yorkshire Christmas, too. It looks good. Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

That’s why I sometimes go on a binge and grab a bunch of freebies for myself.. I find new authors and more series to follow at no cost.

  15. Yeah, it’s still hot here too, but I’m not complaining! It’s also been rainy though, and I am complaining a little about that lol. It makes grocery shopping a pain, especially since I have to carry heavy packs of water up the outdoors stairs which can be slippery, and I worry I’m going to fall.

It sounds like you and your mother have fun being competitive lol. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Maybe you could rig a pulley to load stuff on. I used to live on the second floor in an apartment and almost fell several times. Scary stuff.

  16. I hope you get some rain soon!! Its been in the upper 60’s low 70’s for the last few days here and that is still above average. I want some snow, damn it! 🙂 Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’d want snow if I lived where we got any. If it gets that cold we usually get little ice balls that melt immediately.

  17. Wow! I am in awe that it is still warm enough to swim there. It was cold on Halloween here so most of the kids had their costumes covered up with coats. I love it when it is warm enough to just sit out on the front porch to give out candy. It beats having to get up to answer the door every five minutes. Ha ha. I picked up the Run Horror anthology. It was only 99 cents. Have a fantastic week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I remember having to bundle up for Halloween. Seemed kind of pointless to where a costume. LOL I’m enjoying that pool as long as I can and plan to take a dip on Christmas day and new years too! You’ll probably hear my scream. LOL

  18. Maybe I can send you some rain because there has been plenty rain out here. I’m sick of it already. I’m hoping for some snow soon. 😀
I’ve done a little Christmas shopping. Since our wedding is coming up we decided to don’t do any Christmas gifts.. But I bought something small. A Christmas tree without any gifts is so empty! LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The wedding! That’s a present in itself. I don’t usallyhave many gifts under the tree so I have some empty packages in different shapes and sizes that I wrap with various wrapping paper to make it look festive. Mix in some ornaments and voila!

  19. atothewr says:

Skip Bo is the only card game I like to play. My wife and I play it all the time.

  20. It has been in the 80s here too! Haha! Yesterday it rained so it was a bit cooler, which was nice. I actually have started Christmas shopping already! Tis the season! XD Have a great week!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

  21. Melissa says:

I’m glad it’s cooler here…easier to get in the mood for the upcoming holidays! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I still miss a white Christmas, but don’t miss the cold. Once I start decorating, I put on the holiday music and get in the mood:)

  22. The weather’s been cooler here — well, mostly. We did get up near 80 for a couple of days. Today was only in the high 50s, though, and tomorrow will be in the high 60s. I haven’t done much focused Christmas shopping yet, but thanks to a niece who just released her first album this spring, I’ve got gifts for the other side of the family already. And I’ve put aside the occasional TeeFury shirt for various recipients. But I still have a lot of shopping to do.

A Yorkshire Christmas looks cute; I picked that one up, too.
