This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

I have been useless this week. Truly. I started watching Game Of Thrones and can’t get my head around much else. Just finished Season Three and can’t begin to describe this magnificent series. I have Monday and Tuesday off from work and will be binging on more shows. What will I do when I’m all caught up? LOL

I will be watching the eclipse. Took some doing but was able to find protective glasses for my son and I.  Got any special plans for the big event?

Here’s a new pic of my banana trees. Not much different with the bananas. Though the purple leaves are curling off and that means they will start to grow and look like bananas. Hopefully next week I’ll have some photos with a bit more change to them.

I’ll be heading over to your posts soon. Happy Sunday!

I haven’t gotten the glasses yet I need to get on that! Yikes it’s coming up. And glad you’re enjoying game of Thrones. Yay for binging ha ha!

Some interesting looking books- Great Zoo of China, Mass Hysteria and Mulligan’s Map all look promising.

  2. Wow! That’s a lot of awesome freebies you got there! I seriously need to catch up with Game of Thrones soon!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I behaved myself and only grabbed one of these freebies. LOL Game Of Thrones is so addictive. I even dream about it. LOL

  3. Maree Jane says:

I love Game of Thrones too and I’m at about the same spot as you I think – I’m waiting for season 4 to become available at the library. Have a great week 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have On Demand so can record back shows. I have all episodes waiting for me and also recording current airings. I’m thinking of slowing down on how many episodes I watch each day so they last for a bit. LOL

  4. Cool freebies this week 🙂 I’ve also been semi-useless this week – after returning from vacation, it’s so weird at first. Mostly just worked, really.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Isn’t it weird that we need time to regroup after a vacation. LOL I feel unsettled for a while. Then life becomes normal again. LOL

  5. I binge watched the first 3 series of GOT too and it was fab! Since then I’ve been watching weekly when the show is on, but the wait between series is soooo hard. So enjoy the binging while it lasts! But even better is the chatting to people about your theories and thoughts, so much happens that you need to discuss.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. I’m almost finished with Season Three and already dreading when I get caught up with Season Seven. LOL I’ll probably have other shows to catch up on to keep me busy though:) I have had to avoid a lot of discussions as I was so far behind. Looking forward to joining in soon.

  6. I only got so far with GOT but I want to go back and watch it now it just looks so good as the series went on. I need to check out some of the freebies. I am interested In Checking Some Bette Lee Crosby books Out. Have a Great Week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I am hooked by the show. Had no idea how intriguing it was. Bette Lee is a wonderful writer. I’m working to catch up on all of her series and love how the characters make little appearances from series to series.

  7. Stacy Renee says:

Oooh! Awesome growth on the banana tree! I bought one this year but it’s still only a foot high. I can’t wait til it starts putting off bananas! I’ll have to be content with all the limes, oranges, and lemons I have growing this year. 😀
    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The tress grow so quickly but I’m not sure how often they produce bananas. Going to research it so I know when to pick them too. I worked on my gardens this spring and had plans for several small fruit trees. Got sidetracked and will have to wait until next year. Planning on some lime and lemon trees as I already have oranges.

  8. I am not as fascinated with the eclipse as others are so I will be doing nothing but going to my first day of Photoshop class it’s from 12-3 so it will take up a good chunk and the rest will be spent watching TV and reading or blogging. 🙂

Can’t wait to see bananas on that thing right now it looks like a big funky flower thing…lol.

There are things about GoT that just don’t interest me so I have never watched it. I have seen some scenes from it at least enough to know it’s not for me. Hope you continue to enjoy your binge but don’t forget to read! 😉

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I remember an eclipse when I was young. I guess what fascinates people is darkness during the day and such a rare occurrence. The bananas are taking their sweet time. LOL And GOT really sucked me in. I am still reading but having a hard time staying focused. Probably will spend this morning out by the pool and that will help.

  9. Have fun watching the eclipse! We have teacher in service that day, but I imagine we will all go out and watch. We are in the 90% coverage area so it should be pretty good.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m not sure what our coverage is. Imagine it’s up there though. I was so relieved to finally find some glasses!

  10. I became addicted to Game of Thrones by the start of season two and I just go mad for it! Seasons 4 and 6 are my favourites but I love them all! You have so much great stuff still to come. Binge watching is the way to go!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was hooked by the first few episodes. Love all of the conspiracy. LOL Season Three is a bit less action but the dragons are growing! I watched three episodes yesterday morning. Went out to the pool and read some. Then watched three more last night. My son watches with me and we discuss things afterwards. Great fun!

  11. sjhigbee says:

I hope you really enjoy the eclipse – is it total where you are? It is the most amazing experience if it is… It’s not worth bothering with here, given we have so much cloud and rain at present and I don’t think you can see much of it anyway. Your banana flower is amazing – what a striking-looking thing:). Have a wonderful week Laura:). My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/08/20/sunday-post-20th-august-2017/

  12. fuonlyknew says:

I need to check our coverage. I know it’s not total but pretty close. North of us in the Carolina’s is full coverage. My boss is going there to watch it so I have Monday and Tuesday off work. Thank you eclipse! LOL I love my banana trees and was so surprised to find one producing fruit. I was sitting outside with my mother and it just popped in my head to check them and voila! It’;; be fun to share each week as they take shape too.

  13. Jenea says:

You picked up some really good looking books! Can’t wait to see your bananas! I remember growing, my aunt in Florida had lots of banana trees and we got to pick them when they were ripe. 🙂 Have a fantastic week!!!

    Thanks for stopping by earlier..

    Happy readin’,

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did good by not grabbing every one of the freebies. LOL I can’t wait to see if the bananas ripen okay so I can try them.

  14. Your banana tree is looking good! Our cats destroyed the two at my parents’ house before they ever reached that point. I hope you enjoy the eclipse viewing! Have fun binge watching on your days off! Sometimes you just need it.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had so much rain this summer. Didn’t really see the sun until July, so all of my outdoor plantings are huge this time. The bananas should start taking shape soon. I plan to do a video when I pick them!

  15. katarguelles says:

We’ll try to see the eclipse at work but I do have meetings during that time lol. Your banana tree looks really good and I wish we can plant it here. I love GOT so I understand your fascination with it. I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I work for a family owned business and my bosses took off to see the full eclipse up north. That means a four day weekend for me!

  16. The Knackers looks really creepy! LOL on the binge of Thrones. I have yet to watch them or the Walking Dead..I feel left out.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I felt left out with TWD and now you can’t stop me from watching new episodes. which are coming very soon! Game Of Thrones is so amazing. I’ll be useless until I catch up and probably afterwards too while waiting for more. LOL I couldn’t resist the cover and title for The Knackers. Just started it and creepy already!

  17. Wow, what a haul! Enjoy them all….and those banana trees. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  18. I got some of those glasses too! It’s supposed to be cloudy here tomorrow, though, so I’m really hoping we can see well enough to get a look.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had 80+ percent coverage but not very dark out. I made the mistake of looking towards the sun this morning. Ouch!

  19. I love the cover of Knacker! Please keep the banana updates coming. I am always fascinated by what people grow. I never get around to do much gardening so I think I am living vicariously through other blogger’s photos. Have a stellar new week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just started Knacker and its already creepy. LOL I’ll keep sharing the photos. It’s fun to have something to show.

  20. I grabbed The Knacker too. I couldn’t resist the cover. The banana update is fun to watch. Especially since I live in an area where it wouldn’t be possible. I also love the cover of Mirage – so pretty yet kind of creepy. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, the cover for Knacker is one I couldn’t resist. Plus it’s horror, right! LOL I’m hoping by next Sunday the bananas will have changed more. We’ll see.

  21. I just said no to new books. 🙂
    sherry @ fundinmental

  22. Yay for Game of Thrones! Last night’s episode was so intense I think I watched half of it through my fingers. LOL I’m not familiar with Bette Lee Crosby but those book covers are so pretty!

  23. amynikitawords says:

Haha I haven’t watched GOT, but I know what it’s like to binge on a series and be utterly, wholeheartedly addicted!!

Hope you got a good view of the eclipse and found glasses. Also, enjoy those books! That’s quite a haul 🙂

P.S. Your banana trees are so cool!

    Hope you’re having a good week 🙂
