This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

Another week of not much happening. Work was slow and I had a couple of extra days off. The weather has been wonderful. Cool nights and warm days so I worked in the yard, cleaning out the dead stuff and spiffing everything up.

I was so tempted to start decorating for Christmas. It takes time to get everything the way I want and then it’s almost time to take it back down.

Been doing a bunch of reading. So many of them were really good too. I realized most of them weren’t my holiday books so I’m starting on those now. Other than that, just watching the telly and taking some naps. The daylight savings time makes it get dark so early I struggle to stay awake.

I hope you all had a fabulous week and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Greg Hill says:

Glad it was a good week, with nice weather. I’m not a fan of how quickly it gets dark either this time of year. I am ready for Christmas though.

How to Turn Your Mom into a Monster looks really fun! And of course I just started Into The Drowning Deep so I get to be immersed in killer mermaids for a while lol.

  2. Emma says:

Quiet weeks are nice aren’t there? I had one myself. Have a good week.

  3. It’s great that the weather was wonderful! We’ve also had decent weather. It’s cold, but at least it’s not snowing or hailing, so that’s great. No ice yet either!
Have a great week, Laura 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Lat night the wind started roaring and the temp droppe fast. Breezy and chilly today but nice when in the sun. We don’t usually get anything like snow here but we’ve had some ice storms.

  4. Samantha says:

Yay for nice weather. I want to decorate early every year but my husband says no. 🙁

  5. Chrissy says:

Nice weather is a plus for getting the yard cleaned up and decorations up. I hope you have another great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah. Some stuff stays green all year and some even bloom. But the others die and I have to cut them back. It does look neat and tidy afterwards.

  6. Jenea says:

I love the weather we are having here too. The cooler temps are great! We got our decorations out this week, but I still haven’t went through them. We normally put our tree up this coming week, so I guess I will have get my butt in gear. lol… I am off to check out some the freebies now. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by earlier.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve been doing some organizing and throwing away stuff I know I won’t use. Kind of silly to just keep putting it in storage. LOL

  7. I haven’t read Deaver in a long while, but Manhattan Is My Beat looks tempting. Enjoy your haul…and your week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  8. Yvonne says:

I have a couple of those freebies, too. I’m hoping to do more reading during the holiday season. Hope you have a great week!

  9. Heidi says:

I am really wanting to read the new Mira Grant books, I am reading some brilliant reviews for it. I feel like I just got my Thanksgiving decorations up, now I have to put them all away and start Christmas. One thing I like about January is no decorations, makes it easy.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Mira’s mermads are something to fear! Great reads and I really hope she does more. I know about the decorating. I put up Halloween and fall and now it’s time for Christmas. LOL January is getting ready for Mardi Gras but I don’t for much for that.

  10. I can’t wait to decorate too. I am forever changing things and it takes me all day to set everything up.

I can’t wait to see what you think of Meddling Kids. I have seen such mixed reviews. I want to read it but I’m not sure.

I hope you have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Mine takes a few days as I have difficulty with the outdoors decorating. I like to take my time there. Meddling Kids is ‘different’? LOL

  11. Sometimes quiet weeks are a blessing. I am inclined to say back away from the Christmas decorations but I can be a bit of a scrooge about all that (not Christmas itself just everything being up too early or too late…but, hey, do you).

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, I get everything out and sort and plan what to do but hold off on doing most of it, especially outdoors, until after Thanksgiving.

  12. I already have my Christmas tree up. I guess I’m overeager. 🙂 Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  13. I say, if you want to start decorating for Christmas, go for it! As long as you enjoy the decorations, why not? 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did put my tree up with just lights on it. I do that each year for my son’s birthday. I’ll really get decorating after Thanksgiving. Got a long weekend:)

  14. Wow! Lots of great books you got there! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  15. I’m struggling to sleep at the moment so I’m tired every morning at the moment. It’s driving me mad! Oh well, I’ve got a warm house so I shouldn’t grumble as some people don’t even have that. I do hope to fit in some reading today though!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m sorry you haven’t been able to sleep. The last couple of nights I couldn’t either. Makes me sluggish. It’s pretty chilly here but I refuse to hit the heater until it gets cold.

  16. i hate the time change.

  17. Pragya says:

Glad to know it was a good week. Hope this one’s as good too. Get started on those Christmas decorations and then take it slow. 🙂 Happy reading all those pretty books you bought.

    • fuonlyknew says:

This will be a short work week and looking forward to that. Plan to start the decorating and enjoy some good books:)

  18. Drangonfly says:

With a slow week and days off I would have tempted to start decorating for Christmas as well!

  19. The change out of Daylight Savings (which I learned is in the spring when we fall back, currently we are in Standard Time), gets me too. I am so sluggish and slow in the fall, tired and sleepy most of the time. The cool weather is perfect for working in the yard! I have a few things I need to do in the back this week.

  20. Katherine P says:

I’m wanting to start decorating for Christmas too but I’m making myself leave the fall stuff up until this weekend! I love all my Christmas stuff but it takes forever! Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  21. The early dark throws me off, but I don’t get tired. I’m naturally a night owl. 🙂

I’m totally not ready to decorate for Christmas yet. LOL. Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I used to be a night owl. Now I’m early to bed and early to rise. I do enjoy staying up late on the weekends though:)

  22. It sounds like last week was great, Laura! I hope this week is more of the same 🙂

  23. My son doesn’t need a book on how to turn his mom into a monser. Ha! 👹

    Have a fabulous Thanksgiving!

  24. Emma says:

The book cover for The Sister is chilling.
