This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

It’s been a quiet, uneventful week, except for the weather. We went from 80 to 40s and almost freezing at night. I can’t wait for spring to finally arrive. This up and down stuff is making me feel weird. LOL

I’m sharing more pics of my plant. I went to the local nursery with pictures and they told me this is a split leaf philodendron.

Last week Daniela asked me if I’d named my plant. Never done that before.

Would you like to help me name my plant!

Come on. It’s so pretty and needs a name to flourish! Leave a suggestion in the comments!

Here’s last week picture.

One week later.

I was a bit concerned as we had a cold front move through and got some frost. But it did just fine. Look at all of the new shoots.

It’s really starting to spread out now. I plan to get the mulch down now that I can see how far out the base reaches. I’m going to use the red mulch. It looks so pretty and easy to see so I don’t run over it with the lawn mower.

Sorry these pictures aren’t as bold as previous ones. Clouds came in and covered up the sun.

Have a fabulous Sunday!

  1. Maree Jane says:

Audrey, from Little Shop of Horrors 😉 Have a great week 😀

    • fuonlyknew says:

I adore that movie. Even went to see several plays. Now the songs from it will be in my head for days.LOL FEED ME, SEYMOUR!

  2. Greg Hill says:

Temp changes like that are always tough. I know I get sick more easily when the temps see-saw like that. Not that we’ve been anywhere close to 80’s lol. 🙂 Good luck with the plant (and naming it). I can’t think of any good names. Maybe something from Lord of the Rings ha ha? Were there any cool Ent names??

Love that cover for The Naughty List!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Temps can change so quickly here. One day last week, I went to work in shorts but later had to layer up when a cold front blew through. Luckily, I prepare for that and always have clothes in my car. LOL LOTR has some great names. I went from not having a clue what to name my plant to so many possibilities now! The cover for The Naughty List makes me curious just what the thing is.

  3. Willa. The plant looks like a Willa. LOL Yes we are bouncing all around too and will get snow today. I want green grass and sunshine. Loving your haul, I need to investigate a few as they caught my eye.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Willa is another one that rolls right off the tongue. So many good ones to choose from already. I think I’ll have to draw one out of the hat! Everything is growing like crazy. I’m going to spend today pulling briars out of my flower beds. Yippee. LOL

  4. I love naming things. I name a lot of things that come my way, lol. Ummmmm, how about Garry? Garry the Split Leaf.

    Have a good week! 🙂

  5. How about Jeremy for a plant name? 😉

Halley’s Casino and The Naughty List, sound like fun!

    Thanks for the freebies.

  6. You should totally name your plant! You’ll find yourself talking to it then 🙂 I tried to come up with names, but the problem is, I don’t know your plant personally 😀

  7. For your plant, how about Greensleeves? Or you could go Westeros with something like Needle, Nymeria, Frey, and so on or Lord of the Rings with Treebeard.

  8. The weather has been up and down here too. But, at least it stopped raining! You should totally name the plant! Meakanu means plant in Hawaiian so maybe you can call it Meakanu!

  9. I love the cover and title of The Needle House! 📚

Oh, gosh, the leaves look like a crown to me, so I would say any queen’s name would do nicely. 🌿

    Have wonderful week. ☺

  10. I love the way the plant spreads out, like a welcoming friend: Philanthropy as a name?

    Or just Philo.

I like the appearance of Look for Her…

Enjoy your week! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

It gets huge. This is just the beginning of spreading out. I’m worried it might get to big for where it is. Nice suggestion for a name:)

  11. Your plant is growing gorgeously! Philomena as a plant name?

  12. Jenea says:

Never really thought about naming the plants. I would say Flora. 🙂 Hope you have a great week.

  13. StackingMy BookShelves says:

The plant is looking great! Lots of lovely books. I hope you have a good week in reading. I just got back in my home after a week of no power so I am behind in things. Have a good week. =)

    • fuonlyknew says:

A whole week with no power. Yikes! reminds of when we get hurricanes here. At least its sweltering instead of freezing when we get them.

  14. Cricket says:

You could name it Blossom since it’s blooming beautifully. Hope you have a great week!

  15. Hmmm … a good plant name … How about Flo. I don’t know why, but I like it.

  16. My mom had a plant like that. It was named Spike. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  17. Andreea P. says:

Your plant is making progress! That is amazing – and it’s so nice knowing I witness her progress ever since you first posted about it. Enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m enjoying sharing. I look forward to showing everyone how quickly it grows and how pretty it becomes.

  18. Liliana E. says:

Oh yeah, the weather is also driving me insane! In the mornings when I leave for work it is literally freezing. And today was a sunny 50 degrees I almost didn’t need the light cardigan I was wearing. Lol.

Anyway, I’m off to check out some of those freebies!

    Have a great week! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. I freeze when I first get to work and then have to peel off layers once the sun gets higher in the sky. LOL

  19. Daniela Ark says:

yay! glad you decided to name “beautiful plant” ! I love her already! [up in my mind it is a she lol] So… leaf philodendron huh? I was going to ask you what kind it was!
    So… philo…. philo…. philo…. Philomena! I vote for Philomena!

    This is what I found…

Philomena. Greek. It means “friend of strength” (φιλος (philos) “friend, lover” and μενος (menos) “mind, purpose, strength, courage”) or “loved one” (φιλομηνη (philomene) meaning “loved”). Filomena is the name of one of the storytellers in the frame story of The Decameron.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Oh yes. I had to name it after you suggested I do so. And what a great name. You really put some thought into it:)

  20. I had to grab Shadows in the water. 🙂

  21. The change in temp is driving me crazy too, so I know how you feel!

    Week in Review

  22. Heidi says:

I hate when you get such big temp swings, it gives me headaches sometimes because of the pressure and body aches. I love your plant, it is growing so fast. Name it Phil!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. Today was bitter cold with winds gusting up to 30 mph! Supposed to get into the 30s tonight. Spring need to hurry up. LOL And that’s two for Phil!

  23. Lots of good looking books here. I read Somewhere and didn’t care much for it but others have had more luck. I say name the plant “Phil” for chlorophyll. That’s the best I can do!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I was tempted by the cover on Somewhere. Something made me pass on it. Oh, probably my overloaded Kindle! LOL Phil. I like that:)

  24. How about Frondy? I love seeing greenery popping up now. My crabapple tree is in full bloom. I’m in love with it.

Enjoy your new books and hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Cute. It sounds fun to say it:) It’s every shade of green here and so many shrubs and trees are blooming. The only green I’m not crazy about is the coating of pollen that covers everything. LOL

  25. A Renfro says:

Snow here yesterday. Middle of March and snow. Crazy. Where is Spring? How about Rick for your plant name?

    • fuonlyknew says:

Lots of people are still getting snow. I feel for you:) Rcik is a good choice. Simple and reminds me of someone.

  26. buffywnabe says:

You’ve got some interesting books there, I’m going to have to check some out on Goodreads. We’ve been having roller coaster weather here in Missouri. But that’s usual. The only plant name I can think of is Audrey, from Little Shop of Horror. 🙂 Thanks for visiting Lisa Loves Literature earlier. Sorry it took me so long to return the visit. Have a great week!
